Heating System

The old heating system that SK used seemed to have worked fine. With gear leveling up once it acquired enough heat, not needing any crystals of any kind to do so. This new heating system using crystals isn't too bad until you start to get to radiants, just today I ran a couple tier 3 runs on elite to the core without a single rad drop which is absurd. How can you expect us to level up gear without spending the whole day searching for crystals? I understand that this might be a way for OOO to try to get money out of players, but really, can't it be done another way?

discussed to death

This was all discussed to death after release 2013-07-30. Basically, playing the game is cheaper now (no elevator fees), but heating the items is more expensive now (fire crystals). Radiant drop rates have substantially increased in recent months, so that it is highly unusual to run all of Tier 3 and not find any. Sorry for your bad luck. You might try danger rooms?

I figured someone would tell

I figured someone would tell me its been discussed before, but its still broken. If Radiants dropped at the start of its stratum like other crystals, it wouldn't be as bad as it is. I do try danger rooms and I get maybe 6 on elite, which is hardly worth it. I think the free elevators was a great idea, but the heating system for 5* is miserable.

yep

When I do a Tier-3 run and hit lots of danger rooms (because I enjoy them), I get maybe 21 Radiants. The Apocrean event was also great for Radiants. A Firestorm Citadel run also nets me about 21 Radiants these days (as opposed to 3, before the drop rate was increased).

Maybe Three Rings will adjust the drop rates again, if we have another 100 of these threads. So keep up the fight if you like.

But keep in mind that the game needs money to survive. Buying Radiants probably produces a substantial fraction of that money (just as buying energy did, when elevators cost energy). If you're going to ask Three Rings to give up a bunch of money, then you should also give ideas for how to replace that money through other revenue streams. That would make your thread much stronger. Cheers.

I understand the money

I understand the money aspect, but between the promos and other items I believe radiants sales shouldn't be as necessary. I'm sure there is no way that the profit from rads compares to the profit OOO makes from promos. A new idea for revenue for them isn't out of the question, but to say they will go broke without the purchase of rads isn't true.

Please drop this. It isn't worth your time to argue with the people about it, because you're almost certainly right. That is why you are here.

Not that we can ever be 100% sure. Nothing is ever quite true.

It suprises me that radiants

It suprises me that radiants don't bother you guys as well, how can you enjoyed having to pay 700ce to upgrade your weapon one heat level. That is beyond me.

Talk to players before the update, and having 1k energy was a big thing. Talk to players after the update and using 1k of their 10k energy is a big thing.

The scarcity of Radiants does bother me (at least, on other players' behalfs). But I can't get into your thread because it's all been said already in other threads, literally hundreds of times. There's only so much you can rage about a particular topic, before you run out of energy and move on.

Well if you give up then it

Well if you give up then it will never change, making all previous efforts to complain and start a new system in vain.
