Is there a certain drop rate?
I was wondering if there was an actual drop rate that someone has figured out?
I'm guessing that it would be pretty low, but knowing my chances would be a bit better :D

The drop rate is low enough, that an enormous number of treasure boxes would have to be observed, to estimate the drop rate with any precision. By far the most detailed systematic treasure box study I've ever seen is this...

...and I don't think it has any equipment drops.
It wasn't for a while for the sprite update, then suddenly was again after the community noticed it had been removed. So yes.
