It's probably that the devs have to handle more tasks than before (beta).
"Discuss."
There is nothing to discuss about really.
Ah, but were there promotions in the beta? I think not! Waaaay more progress today than before.
It's almost like they have much more content than they did when the game was in beta, that much more gear to make sure the new weapons/armor are balanced properly, much more content to compare it all against, basically - and are short at least two developers from that era considering they've been hiring for months and Nick has also stepped away
but I mean conspiracy theory away ;)
By Beta I assume that doesn't mean the entire 4 years before launch, right?
Have you ever wondered, how there adding a crap ton of them event boxes. Have you ever wondered how there's a different one every month. Have you every wondered, if they can add swords shields costumes and accessories, why not just guns? I think I'm on to something
Ah yes, beta, the good times when:
- There was a more balanced PvP game than Lockdown.
- The UI was perfectly fine the way it was.
- Heating 5* items didn't require you to mindlessly run FSC all day to hopefully get enough radiants to have a chance at successfully forging it up one level.
- Players weren't overpowered and swimming in attack/defense/speed buffs obtained by orbs and/or battle sprites that make the game far too easy.
- The game actually had a co-operative aspect to it which is now dead and gone (health split reviving, now we just spam lolsparks and be invincible as long as you have a couple hundred of them.)
- Enemies didn't have an AI that made them a pushover (Yes I'm talking to you zombies and wolvers)
- The community wasn't worse than League of Legends.
- OOO actually made content.
- No Punch for people with quick and easy access to mommy's credit card to sit in front of all day and spend thousands of dollars rolling status resist increase Maximum! and ASI VH/CTR VH UVs to be a "pro" player.
R.I.P.

Lies. I could never get into it. There was only GFs. It was only a hitfest...
Some of those things though...
- There was a more balanced PvP game than Lockdown.
> Then you clearly don't remember how balanced were Gran Faust and Sentenza. Cool.
- The UI was perfectly fine the way it was.
> The old UI was indeed better than the current one, however, it did need some alteration and additions.
- Heating 5* items didn't require you to mindlessly run FSC all day to hopefully get enough radiants to have a chance at successfully forging it up one level.
> As far as I recall, I used to do 3-4 runs to fully heat a weapon to lvl 10. So yeah, you have some point here, although I think that having forge system was to reduce the consequences of removing Mist energy in entirety.
- The community wasn't worse than League of Legends.
> Don't really know what do you mean. We've always had bad players/forumers loathing the community in every place the whole time. If you don't recall any names, I can remind you.
- OOO actually made content.
> Yeah, because making content is easy and anyone can do it. Pretty sure you have seen why we are low "content" on different threads, but you seem to neglect that.
- No Punch for people with quick and easy access to mommy's credit card to sit in front of all day and spend thousands of dollars rolling status resist increase Maximum! and ASI VH/CTR VH UVs to be a "pro" player.
pics or didn't happen
Ok, just kidding.
But hey, why are you under the impression that anyone that has fancy items has surely used his mommy's credit card? I mean, c'mon, we have fathers too.
(Oh by the way, what about the asi vh weapons you have?)
This is a good time to mention that when games are in beta, that doesn't mean they have to develop the whole freakin' thing or anything. Beta is the final, final stage before release and most of the core work is already done. If you look at the game when it entered beta and when it launched, how many changes did they actually make? You also have to consider they weren't owned by another company pushing deadlines on them, and had a much stronger "vision" of what they wanted the game to be, as well as the ability to freely make updates without worrying so much about backlash because beta is beta and if you make a change you don't like, you can revert it. Plus they had Nick and weren't also short several other positions - they had the people they brought on to make the game, and they worked together to make it happen. Without a lead designer, understaffed, and with more things to worry about than they did then (such as an overly reactive and negative community, and the virtual inability to revert a change), it's no wonder it's taken longer than was planned.
But, I still don't believe balancing (since we know everything has existed in some form for several months now) 3 armor lines and some branches of existing weapons could take 8 months. I have to assume they're coupling it with another, bigger update with more fundamental changes... and frankly if they aren't at this point, I'm going to be disappointed.
Guys, nobody was talking about that shitty FFA mode. Blast Network was the perfect PvP mode.
I didn't play beta but I have played for about 3 years now.
I sure do miss the old SK.
when the gunner update comes the first thing im going to question is. When is the bomber update coming? Oh and give my homie Gasper a cookie.
Didn't the game start in development say like 2009 or something?
Isn't the game still in beta. There was the alpha stage where it was under a lot of development and then when it is ready to allow more players it became a beta where development is mostly consisted of fixes or additional content that the developers see fit to add.
Every time they make a new Promotion they stop everything and work on the costumes. Think about that every time you see a promotion.

Except exactly not this.
If I'm just not getting some sarcasm then that's my fault.

Actually the earliest known substance of Spiral Knights I can find was in 2006.
At least OOO isn't as bad as a certain Chucklefish.
As I recall, one of the developers said that Spiral Knights will be more open world where you can go out of Haven and not just on those silly loading elevators. along with new missions and rankings of Post-Vanguard.
@Karituo
Actually, in the testing of the gunner update (player feedback, both sessions), never once was there something related to that.
It was also never stated to be part of the gunner update.
I believe you're talking about the Arcade Redux, which you can read about here.
As for what you said about Spiral Knights becoming open world, I've never heard of that one before, would you tell us where you got that from?
Considering you're someone who was not in the "beta test," you have no right to make such a statement.
back then they had nick, they had more time allocated to spiral knights, and less sega
as far as i reckon
i think they allocate very very little time to development now, with a small team
pity
I now know why OOO is spamming promos. They have more sega then OOO. MYSTERY SLOVED
Make SK an open world game, and I will begin throwing money at OOO, like something that throws something at something else with great frequency.
This thread.... this username.... so friggin EPIC.
This guy is my new god, i shall build him a temple and gather other people to worship him with fervorous devotion.
