I dream,
Within my dream,
I saw a world,
Without Kings and Queens, no rules, no boarders,
A peaceful little island, floating in the middle of nothingness,
Away from this wolrd's struggle,
I will wait you here even till the end of eternity,
For you were the one who taught me what it meant to be free,
Thank you.
Summary of the story in the previous SK: Project Retribution:
Desna, while on the mission to raid one of Herex's secret lab, stumbled upon his latest project code named 'Retribution'. She and her squad was attacked by one of Herex's 'fruits of labour', a gene modified super soldier by the name of 'lifeless' he was one of the four Gremlin super soldiers Herex created, nicknamed the 'four hoursemen of the apocalypse'. After subduing the supersoldier, Desna was able to convince 'lifeless' to join her in an attempt to sabotage Herex's plan. After defeating the three of the other four horsemen, Desna and 'lifeless' were confronted by the true fruit of Herex's labour, Type-Omega, a monster of true perfection who believed that her will alone was worthy of ruling cradle and all of its denizens, however, thanks to 'lifeless' heroic sacrifice, Type-Omega was destroyed. And so ended Herex's chance of defeating Tinkinzar, but little did Desna know, the whole time Herex was collaborating with Ozlo, who shared a common enemy (Tinkinzar) with him... the mad scientist will not give up so easily, but so was our tenacious recon ranger Desna, who would do anything in her power to protect Cradle from whatever monstrocities Herex had in store for her.
Interval-00: Insurrection
"It will never happen again, mister Ozlo..." whispered Herex sitting in a secret lab deep within the clockwork, far beyong the reach of any spiral knights garrison or any gremlins, on the other end of the static monitor was none other than the head of the spiral order, captain Ozlo. The old man grimmiced at the mad scientist and frowned upon his previous failure to produce the ultimate bio organic weapon he promised. Ozlo invested alot of crowns into Herex's project hoping that his creations could cause chaos within the great colony, thus he can then focus his forces and defeat the mad Gremlin king once and for all. Now all of Ozlo's investment had gone to waste thanks to Desna's unintentional sabotage.
"Type-Omega was destroyed," sighed Ozlo while looking unimpressed. In order to push Herex further into the mess he was already in he continued, "Your four horsemen of the apocalypse had failed to stop Desna from interfarring with the 'project', maybe next time, you can get rid of her before more of your work is sabotaged..."
Seeing that one of his biggest sponsor is backing out on him, Herex hastily putted up a smile and tried to apologise, "I am DEEPLY sorry, mister Ozlo..." Ozlo tilted his head and allowed Herex to continue, Herex wasted no time and started to re-advertise himself, "Miss Desna was an anomoly in my grand scheme... she will be dealt with, I ensure you..."
"And make sure her death look like the action of the dark fangs..." said Ozlo before checking the CCTV camera recordings on his office desk to ensure no one was eavasdropping on his conversation with the whispering venom, "...That way, I will get more popularity in the spiral order... then it would be much easier for me to launch an assualt on the great colony without facing too much objections."
"I see..." chuckled Herex, deep in his poison ridden heart he knew that it would only be a matter of time before Ozlo back stabbed him and claim the entire cradle for himself. So he made sure to keep his sponsor in the dark and showed his fake loyalty to Ozlo, "I will send two of my best soldiers to remove her from the equation, tomorrow, assign her to a mission out side my lab and I will make sure she dissappear as if she never existed."
"We will be in touch, Mister Herex..." shutting down the private link, Ozlo opened the blinders in his office to see the outside, where new recruits and veterans alike wondered about their daily business beneath cradle's infinite sunshine. All too oblivious to acknowledge Ozlo's sinister deeds, when Ozlo wathced over the ignorant masses from far away, he knew it was up to him to keep them safe and under controlled. Although he might be a gentle shepherd on the outside, he had no problem putting down the sick goats in order to keep the herd uninfected. In this case, Desna was the 'sick goat'. Althought she was a great contributors to the war, to Ozlo, Desna was nothing more than a loose cannon, ready to jeopardize his plan of a new Isora at anytime, or rather, cradle under new management.
"I remebered how I sent you and the Iron wolfs to the belly of the beast in the Morai war,Desna," said Ozlo to himself with a great dose of nostalgia, "You should have died back then... but you didn't... I purposefully pulled back any reinforcement when you were stuck with Type-Omega, I thought you would be dead within minutes," Ozlo paused before gruffling like an angry old wolver, Just the thought of how much Desna had cost him made him mad on the inside, "But you cheated death once again... However, your lady luck is running out..." Ozlo lighted up a cigar before taking a deep puff at it, then he used the cigar's burning tip and rubbed its ashes bitterly against an old photo of Desna, "You will die one way or another, my new Isora will have no rooms for a freedom fighter such as your self..."
Interval-01: Deceit (pt.1)
Sitting inside a white confined room, Desna stared blankly at the tiled floor, refusing to acknowledge Doctor Morlin's presence, who was on the other end of the table that she was sitting on, "Tell me, Miss Desna..." said Morlin patiently at Desna, he picked up a piece of Rorschach test card and presented to her, "...what do you see? And while you are at it, tell me about project retribution."
Desna rolled her last functional eye and lazily replied, "Let's see... hmmm, that must be your mama! HA!" She happily leaned her legs onto the table and began to spite the doctor, "Look, I don't want to talk about Herex or his stupid project! Can I go back to my rangers now?"
Doctor Morlin frowned realizing that Desna wasn't taking the test seriously, "Captain Ozlo requested me to extract more informations from you about Herex's so called 'project retribution'," said Morlin with a syringe drawn from his pocket, "I hope I don't have to administer truth serum to make you talk..." Desna wasn't about to give in just to a needle, she had seen worse.
In order to intimidate Morlin, Desna pulled down her hound coat and leaned her naked shoulder towards the doctor, "Try me, tough guy!" she grinned, thinking that the truth serum will have no effect on her. Morlin raised his eye brows and jabbed the needle into Desna's arm and quickly withdrawn the needle. Seeing that Desna under estimated the strength of the Serum, Morlin grinned. "What are you laughing at?!" Desna yelled spitefully at the doctor, but Morlin remained silent, but just as she was about to curse him more ,the serum came into effect, Desna's eyes soon dialated and her thoughts went blank.
"Good," Morlin smirked, "Now then, Miss Desna, are you ready for some questions?"
"Yes," said Desna in a blank tone who was now under the effect of the serum, "Morlin, I like your green eyes... I find them rather... sexy..."
"Woah," Morlin cringed and almost fell off from his chair, "Damn... maybe the serum was too concentrated..." sticking to his orginal goal, Morlin took out five photos out of a yellow document and spred them across the table, "So, miss Desna, these are the photos of the four horsmen and Type-Omega, would you KINDLY tell me what they were like and how did you succeed in defeating them?"
"Okay, Morlin..." Desna pointed towards the first photo, "This guy, is Type-042, 'the war', one of the horsemen. He was the first one I encountered..."
Suddenly Desna paused and drooled, it seemed that the truth serum had side effect on Desna's psyche. Out of concern for her health, Morlin wipped Desna's face clean with a hankerchief and she expectedly continued, "He was some kind of mix martial artist before he signed up to Herex's project... he got much stronger after his heart was enhanced, allowing him to move and punch at super human rate. He was the only guy I managed to subdue on my own, appearantly he misunderstood his order more than he think he did..."
"So, in another word," Morlin analysed Desna's describtion and concluded, "Type-042 was the grunt of the four horsemen, obedient, simple, yet deadly..."
Before Desna could explain the next horsemen properly, Ozlo barged into the room armed with a serious look. The drugged ranger captain looked back at the captain and muttered, "I don't like Ozlo's hat, it is... so silly..." The drooling resumed and Desna started to spacing out again due to the truth serum's side effect.
"Excuse me?" said Ozlo, suprised by Desna's random remark about his appearance.
"Sorry sir," Morlin apologised to Ozlo, "but I administered miss Desna here with a shot of truth serum a moment ago, the effect will wear off within a few hours."
Ozlo nodded his head before ordering Morlin to return to his daily work, now left alone with Desna. Ozlo narrowed his eyes at the drugged ranger captain, like a web spider closing in on its tangled prey, he debriefed Desna in an ominous tone, "Lieutenant, I have a new mission for you... our forward recons have located one of Herex's last secret hide outs on cradle. Assemble your rangers as soon as possible, destroy all lab assets with extream prejudice."
"Yes, sir..." while Desna mumbled, Ozlo thought to him self, "You will not survive this time..."
