Hey! I don't know about you, but so many times I wish I could challenge a friend, a guild member or even a random player to a one verse one lockdown match.

This is not a new lockdown game entirely, simply an add-on to the current game.

The current way to do this is ridiculous - You can set a match between two different guilds and then set up a 1v1 ring, or by pure chance you manage to catch the other person by themselves for a sustained period of time, or you can spam EU with a sudden rush of players from your guild to create a random match between friends, allowing players to abuse the system and do continuous 1v1.

This is quite frankly ridiculous.
So I am posing an idea for a 1v1 lockdown match.

The 1v1 matches would begin in the same way as a trade. I can click on a username and send a match invite, they have a choice whether to accept or refuse. Very simple. If both players agree, they are then transported to the exact same room as normal lockdown occurs in, where they have a set time before the match begins. Whether OOO wants to induce a price is up to them.

After the time has gone off, the players begin in a very similar situation to the current lockdown, where they can choose which class they want to be, and can swap weapons. They also have a set time limit in which they must fight. However, the main difference here is that there is no "base" that can be captured and it is a simple fight to the death. The winner is decided after someone has died a total of 3 times, or however many the developers decide to choose.

The room can have different themes, can be large, small or medium, all depending on how the developers wish to do it. Preferably, the maps should be filled with obstacles so that gunners and bombers have more of a sustained chance due to their surroundings. This also adds an interesting play area, where the users must adapt to their surroundings.

Once the match is over, they have a one-minute grace period where they can choose to play again, or to exit.

I feel as though this is essential to the game as many times players often become bored, and simply leave because they have nothing to do. This mini-lockdown adds another small feature they can play with and enjoy. It would be nice if the players were able to select their own theme, however the main lockdown doesn't allow this so it is not really necessary.

Thoughts? Criticisms? Love? Post below :D

Thanks

Time limit? yes, no, until

Time limit? yes, no, until score X is reached?

Big open map is too simple, sword users like this and it would degrade into striker v striker. Adding obstacles/traps/etc would make this more interesting and would give gunners and bombers a place on the map where they have the tactical advantage.

No snow themed levels, this makes recon shield practically useless.

Allow players to select which level to fight on, if both cannot agree then it is randomized.

"No snow themed levels, this makes recon shield practically useless."

Why not just remove their footprints?

Thanks nightmare! As I said, it would be mostly up to the developers, however you do pose some interesting ideas. I'll add them in when I have time.

@ Skyguarder

Because this would be twice as easy for the Dev team.

1. Don't have to make recon an exclusively footstep free class (the other have it but it doesn't change their playstyle)
2. That is one less map style they have to make

(FYI i want recon footsteps gone)

I think, that when they decide to give PvP an overhaul, they'd probably look into this. It is a rather requested feature (among those who play Lockdown) after all.

As Aphrodite said: "PvP is something that the team wants to take a closer look at, but
it isn't at the top of the list right now."

Also, doesn't some people use footsteps to trick people?

Meow.

/yes

I completely agree with Glitter. And I know they want to take a closer look at it, my goal is to make it their next priority after they ring the new guns in. That way we at least get something we know and want, unlike some of the updates SK has pulled over our heads.

Hmhm. That's not a bad idea.
Although we have no clue what's next on their list, and Three Rings are deep in the Gunner Update and other things that has been announced, suggesting to bump up the PvP revision on their to-do list is actually something that seems sort of tangible at this point.

One thing is for sure, you'll probably still have to douse yourself in a lot of patience when waiting. Most people know that content is released at a rather slow pace, hopefully it will pick up a bit when/if they manage to employ some skilled hands as Aphrodite mentioned they were trying to.

Well that would be awesome if they could up the pace. Anyway. Hopefully we can get more support for this.

Awesome.

Gala, if you posted something similar to this on the forums, can you find the link and show it to me so I can put it up as another "support" link?
