Hey there
I just started a new alt.So i want him to be a gunner.
But i need him to be able to play Vana and LD.
First i thought of cryo driver and storm driver. But that would be very bad in deconstruction zones and all so plz advize.

If you wanna fight Vana, you'll obviously want a Blitz. I say, go for a Blitz and a Storm Driver. If you're not comfortable single-switching, you could get Umbra as well. Bear in mind that since radiants are so uncommon, it would probably be a good idea to only upgrade the umbra to 5* and heat it.

Midnight-Dj the valkyrie scholar is here

If cryo and storm don't work, why not mix cryo/storm with umbra driver? And keeping them at 4* should make charge attacks easier. Valiance will work too if you know how to switch shooting.

And as usual, there is the chaos (YOLOSWAGMLG) set. With a few UVs and you should be set for both PvE and PvP.

Or try a combination of the gunner sets and since you are going gunner all the way, then you can have either both or mix one piece with the chaos. Your call.

You really shouldn't get to tier 3 without one of each damage type...

also lvl =/= stars

Not quite. I'm saying that you should upgrade the Umbra to 5* but keep the Volt Driver at 4*. You should keep the Strike Needle at 4* as well.

Gunslinger Guide

Have you read the Gunslinger Guide on the wiki? It's not great, but it should give you an overview of the ideas. And the main idea for PvE is that you want two non-normal damage types (when dealing with guns or swords --- bombs are different). Here are some other key points:

* Supposedly the big "gunner update" will be released soon, with new guns and rebalances to old guns.

* Alchemers are extremely powerful, once you master the ricochets and weapon switching. So I second Umbra with Nova/Storm for PvE. Storm is decent in PvP too. I find Hail disappointing in PvE, because it unfreezes itself as often as it freezes. Definitely not spammable. I don't know about Hail in PvP.

* Blitz Needle is a no-brainer. Everyone should have it.

me too?

Funny, I just started a gunner set, mostly as a change of pace. I also decided on Storm+Umbra+Blitz (or rather the predecessors to those, since I won't be upgrading to *5 any time soon).

I was already building a Storm Driver anyway, as a sidearm to go with my usual choice of swords.

(Still trying to figure out how weapon switching might help alchemers. With this mouse it seems slower instead of faster.)

Fradow

Alchemers are a classic weapon for weapon-switching. You can find tutorials on YouTube, etc., if you don't already know how. See Fradow's posts in this thread (especially post #29?) to get an idea of the advantage it gives you.
