The Confection Prize Boxes may contain two items, which are genuinely new:
* Power Mitt is a normal+elemental+fire shield.
* Overcharged Mixmaster is a shock gun with new mechanics.
Please report details and discuss.

Edit: I missed the General Discussion thread here, because it wasn't stickied. But it's still reasonable to have an Arsenal discussion about the merits of these two items, independent of the rest of the Confection promotion.

Glacies posted a video of it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gi4jPLVaBc&feature=youtu.be

I honestly haven't logged on at all over the past week, but wow, I hope that gets in the crown purchase range soon lol.

-speculation-
Looks to be a short ranged (probably 4-5 tile, so closer to tortofist range, lower than alchemer range) boomerang-like projectile. Does it bounce back from enemies or does it go through them?

I suspect that if anybody will complain about this in Lockdown, they are probably strikers and don't have a ranged weapon. That, or the projectile actually does go through enemies, which would be pretty insane.

I was actually thinking that we could just ignore them and make them go away.

The power mitt seems more

The power mitt seems more like it is made specifically for fire levels but is outshined in usefulness by the omegaward and grey owlite shields. Outshined in Vana fight by Volcanic plate shield. And Owlite is better for Red Roarmulus.

The gun seems to be a high hit per shot gun with low damage per hit (think dark retribution). Good for taking out hordes of minis and constructs/undeads. The perfect slag group slayer in Vana.

Note: These are mainly speculations about the gun. I have seen the video of how it works but I haven't seen one of it being used against enemies. The shield I have viewed in the AH and its stats are comparable to the heater shield (which is a highly specialized shield), and like the heater shield the Mitt seems to have the same shortcomings. (which means no one will buy it)

Anyone have damage numbers on these things? Even unheated you could gather accurate T2 and T1 numbers with it. I'd be interested in seeing T2 GTH numbers in particular, maybe I could find other weapons it shares them with.

Wouldn't be surprised to find plague or blitz needle numbers for it.

From my understanding, I'm nearly level 10 on my mixer and here are the D28 Damage Bonuses from arenas (Because Radiants, I need them!):

Charge: 244 x 4 - Level 08 (DMG High)
Normal: 106 x 6 - Level 08 (DMG High)

The normal shots act as a boomerang and will instantly return to the user no matter what location. The range is only slightly less compared to the Antigua line. I believe it also fires faster than it.

Monsters do not react to the bullets at all. You can literally kill Mecha Knights within seconds with its insanely high DPS along with its special ability.

Charge Attack causes moderate explosive damage. This means that it creates a small AoE that damages anything that hits it. I also believe the duration of the charge bullets last longer.

Special note that I"ll be willing to test anything you want with this handgun and record it. So go ahead and ask!

So no invincitinks of any kind, and they pierce? That does sound really powerful.

Could you get me some T2 numbers? Just GTH for the time being will do splendid.

One minor question about the

One minor question about the Power Mitt:

Does it have a Shield bash similar to the tortoshields?

Question: Tile range?

@Glacies/anyone else who has the gun:
I know most people don't usually pay attention to this, but can you figure out the max tile range for the gun for me?

I count your character tile as 0 (so the tile adjacent to you is 1). For reference, I usually test this by going to the ATH, moving straight downwards from an exploding block and facing straight upwards to shoot until I reach the furthest that I can stand while still making the block explode. If it helps, the dash gives you a 5 tile gap.

Zeddy/Seiran:

No it does not pierce but the charge does explosive AoE.

Level 08 -- T2 GTH
Normal Shots: 44
Charged Shots: 110
Tiles - Normal: 7
Tiles - Charge: 6

Itsmeandersonlol:

I'll have it up in a bit, rendering takes a while.

Those are the same numbers as

Those are the same numbers as status alchemers.

What's the clip size? Do both projectiles do individual damage or is the two swirls just a visual effect? What's the speed like?

What's the accuracy like? Every gun has a variance on either range, direction, or both.

A cross between a Winmillion and a Storm Driver?

So this acts like a Storm Driver, but with a boomerang effect instead of the ricochet effect?

Sounds like a fun weapon, but is there any reason to get one if I already have a Storm Driver? (Which I don't have yet, but I hope to soon.)

According to Glacies monsters don't react to bullets so it would be a good gun to combat those that dodge/shield from bullets. Not sure if this is a bug or an intended feature.

I'll give what details I can.

I was recently sold a Mixer and tested it out a bit against Undead. Wasn't paying too much attention to damage or exact details though, I was a bit too awed. But I can go ahead and say whatever I can about the thing. (The gun is level 1, I do not have the Power Mitt yet.)

First off, I'd like to say that it feels a little like a "boomerang-shotgun". As in, it fires multiple projectiles that each deal minor damage, then fly back towards the player. The range is pretty small. I'd say around that of a Magnus. Even though I was spamming this thing like mad, very few of the monster I hit actually get shocked. When they do get shocked, it means the end for them. The amount of spam this gun produces is enough to kill anything in a second if it is standing still.

I'd like to also point out that this gun glitches. A LOT. There are some seriously game breaking tactics with this thing. It can shoot through walls, massively extend it's range if fired over gaps, and just general abuse able bugs that will probably allow the players willing to pay for the thing to break their way through every part of the game. I myself have been able to player certain locations in reverse by shooting the ghost block behind an unbreakable wall.

The charge attack is basically a glorified normal attack. A bunch of very large twin-projectiles are launched at a bunch of angles in front, then they boomerang behind you. Lets just say that Kats hate this more than anything.

Overall, this is a powerful weapon. Too powerful. I may never grab a Brandish again, why would I? I can just murder everything with this thing now. Heck, I may not even use my Blitz as much with the Mixer in my inventory. Now, I hope someone enjoys my laymen's terms version of what could have been much better information.

Some rants

Power mitt- seems like a bad shield, Grey owlite beat this piece of crap every day of the week, unless if OOO changed power mitt's bash attack into a 180 degree pimp slap, I don't see a point of getting this shield. And also, why is a glove equivilent to a shield???

Overcharged Mixer-from what I can see so far, this weapon sorta breaks the game, killing a T3 zombie with a single charge shots and don't root your character? That is OP, Draycos would have ranted his lungs out if he was still around. So now then, can anyone sell me this amazing gun at a fair price? Say 500K cr? Anyone? I can also give you some commission arts if you are intrested...

Why the heck did they release

Why the heck did they release such a buggy weapon? I know you're in need of cash OOO but please take a few minutes of testing before you release such a weapon.

(I'm still convinced they never checked other things for balance)

I'll just leave this here

I've put together a quick video detailing some of the weapon mechanics and how the damage stacks up against other, similar guns if anyone's interested. Let's just say that "strong" would be an understatement about its current state.

A nice and buggy toy. Just take a look at these two screenshots i took while messing around in IMF and see what happens if you try doing experiments or abusing of the gun without paying attention to what you're doing. They should fix this thing, a gun that is able to fire through walls is not fair >:l

IMF is buggy in general. It seems a lot of the buttons and events aren't even set up correctly, or have overly complex preconditions (or a lack of).
In the case of this room, if the buttons were set up correctly, the main party button would check to make sure that either of the two lock buttons were unactivated, and then start rockets & spawn the mob spawners, otherwise open the exit gate OR set both buttons to be unactivated. Or activating both exit buttons without triggering the main party button would spawn the gremlins and open the gate.
Gamers are a creative bunch, and you should ALWAYS assume that they will find ways to break stuff. As a former mod developer, for another game and an aspiring indie game dev, I've learnt this lesson several times over.

The electric floor in the first level of IMF is another contender. And charged alchemer shots in other parts of IMF can also potentially trigger other interesting exploits (although none of them to mixmaster levels) if the ricochet angle is right.

I'll have to have a look at other levels, but the sheer number of buttons and switches in IMF means its easier to find an exploit.

So much broken!

Only one person I know has a mixmaster, and watching him use it, it was broken as hell. The power mitt is ridiculous, but I want it for the sake of collecting.
