1. Vortex Gun
A gun that shoots a slow travelling bullet. The bullet sucks in all nearby enemies.
-2 shots (3 hits per bullet, 60-80 neutral damage per hit)
-as fast as Catalyzer's normal bullets
-no knockback
-cannot move whilst firing
-charge attack is basically a big vortex with no recoil
-shadow damage ONLY

2. Flamethrower
^Self-explanatory
-2 shots (a single shot hits 5 times 40-60 neutral damage per hit)
-normal gun walking speed
-charge attack is a long breath attack that lasts 5 seconds, you can move
-no knockback
-elemental damage with shock/fire/freeze/poison status
-normal damage with stun status

1. Missile Beacon
A bomb that calls forth a missile to attack the same place thrice.
-charge time is as long as BAB
-2 second wait between bombs
-same range as Master Blast Bomb
- same knockback as Nitronome
-roughly 100-120 damage per neutral hit
-Normal and elemental damage, no statuses on both
-shadow damage has gremlin bonus (high)

2. Detonator Bomb
A bomb that HAS a use for it's normal attack.
-pressing the normal attack button without charging will place a charge on the ground
-charging the attack button will detonate all placed bombs (charging is as long as Irontech Destroyer's, but the walking speed is normal)
-only a maximum of 5 charges can be placed at any given time, putting any more than 5 charges at a time will cause the earliest one to disappear
-each charge has a relatively small range, about as big as a proton bomb's range
-roughly 70-90 damage per hit

1. Knives
-an extremely fast 4 hit combo that has NO KNOCKBACK, but doesn't move around very much
-charge attack is a 3 square lunge that has knockback (roughly the same as GF/DA's finishers)
-roughly 100-120 per neutral hit, 140-160 for the finisher
-charge attack does 250-270 damage neutrally
-a normal damage one with poison status
-a shadow damage one with slime damage bonus (very high)

-Vortex Gun is a vortex bomb, but 100% better. Why use a placeable bomb when you can just shoot it?
-Missile Beacon
-Knives = Cutter/DVS

+1 for content

I did a vortex gun B4

Flamethrower has been suggested B4

Missile bomb would be interesting as an area denial weapon but few bombers would be willing to play with something that has a charge time like a BAB (even at MAX ctr the BAB is barely useable)

Detonator bomb sounds interesting but flipping the controls to mirror the Catalyzers would be better, just cut the charge time to like nothing, give it a low bomb plant rate and we got a weapon (also need to have a bomb expiration like the Catalyzer so you can't place infinite bombs)

Knives are an interesting concept but so far ALL swords have some knockback on the regular combo, even good gunners keep a sword handy just because it can push back monsters that get too close.

As for damage bonuses it is important to note that all current guns get Med perks, Swords get High perks, and Bombs get VH perks.

@ both

...So, both guns are no good. Consider them scrapped, I'm not much of a gunner anyway :/

The missile bomb is pretty powerful as is. Giving it a short fuse would be OP. In return, even though it has a long fuse time, it won't reduce walking speed. Yeah, I think that'd make it viable. Also, my missile bomb, unlike that other guy's Meteor Bomb idea, does not damage allies, and drops at a fixed place with fixed intervals (once the fuse circle appears, it takes around 2 seconds for the bomb to detonate once, a fixed 1 second interval before the next detonation circle appears, a total of three detonations for every rank).

Holy-Nightmare's idea for the detonation bomb is better than mine :p

The difference between knives and cutters are that knives have very short lunges, less than half a square, and it's 4 hit combo only takes 2.5 seconds to complete. This makes it a very hit-and-run sort of weapon. And it's charge attack has knockback.

I never said they weren't any good, both the vortex gun and the flamethrower got a good deal of interest from forumers, I just said that they had been mentioned before.

The possible problem with the missile bomb is that the knockback would push enemies away after the initial explosion, most bombers are constantly moving so enemies would be less likely to wander into the next 2 explosions. This is assuming of course that the explosions have knockback comparable to standard blast bombs, if they have low knockback and high flinch rate like the Dark Briar Barrage then this would be a much more viable weapon.

Perhaps the knives could have a decent push on the first hit while keeping the last 3 hits with no knockback, this would let it be somewhat reliable for getting out of tight spots while sticking to the original concept.

@Holy-Nightmare

What I meant to say about the guns were that other people already did a better job designing them than me. So I'm dropping them from the thread.

The missile bomb working like DBB would make it a little TOO easy to use, it would be so easy to use that it would throw the whole bombing metagame out of whack.

You were right the first time when you said the missile works like an area denial weapon, because it is. It works like the opposite of a vortex bomb, denying enemies entrance into one specific spot. That's why it HAS to have knockback. Of course, I know that the end result would be a bomb that doesn't do very much damage, but I think this weapon makes up for that flaw by being completely broken in small spaces. Imagine using this bomb at an arena level, you could literally cover the entire battlefield in explosions XD. It's super spammable.

As for the knives, I can see what you mean. Giving some knockback in the first attack could really help the player get out of a lot of tight spots.
