Seriously, it'll be so much fun! Personally, I think OOO are releasing a mega-update with the gunner update, arcade redux, challenge mode, FIFA 16, better balance, an unannounced bomber update, and a new weapon type all at once!
Let's get excited about the scheduled downtime for no reason at all and get disappointed once it turns out to be just downtime!

This will probably be a really great moment in the history of SK! I'm serious. If they announce multiple days before the "mysterious happening" that the server will be down for hours, it will probably be more than a promo or some bugfixes. Whether it is the gunner update, Arcade Redux part 2, the opening of the core, Herex boss fight or whatever, I really think something big is going to happen.
I haven't lost my faith in OOO yet. And I hope this will be the prove that I was right when I kept believing in them. Lets see......

Well I mean there is a possibility its something more than just regular maintenance. I'm still waiting for the "Ladies and Gentlemen, place ya bets on what Wednesday's update will really be!" thread. If it is a promo it better be Plume themed, "We heard you like plumes so we're giving you more plumes to put on your plumes!"
Part of me hopes it is more than just maintenance or some promo, but I've learned not to get my hopes up.

Order of events for tomorrow
1) The Game is being updated in 90 minutes
2) Everyone receives an in game mail saying the Gunner Update is coming out and some other patches (or they could say MAJOR UPDATE incoming)
3) We have a 2 hour patch!
Meanwhile, we discuss with our steam friends what we think is going down
4) We log in with the Gunner Update and other cool stuff
5) Everyone goes mental and is happy with OOO again :D

If this is any kind of large content release, I'm going to be kind of disapointed with them for not hyping it up prior to release at all. We're a bit hyped up here, but most people are still just kind of hopeless and this honestly feels a bit more like desperation to me... I mean, look at the title of this thread lol. I have a hard time disagreeing with it either.
As for whether it is a content update, you can try to find out if whether the host of the servers is doing anything- they usually mention it publically. Of course, you could also just wait ten hours.

For those of you who don't know yet......
You need to keep your computers clean otherwise they could straightup fail... downtime probably includes replacing parts and blowing dust out of the computer inards
Honestly people I get you are excited about the chance of new content but critisizing OOO for something every computer owner should do is silly.
Let's suppose there never was server maintenance, eventually the poor thing would clog up from dust and overheat, it would put SK offline more than any downtime standard maintenance.
