So, I decided to play Spiral Knights again. I start it up, get to the Knight select screen, click on my knight an.. a black screen. I could still move my cursor, so it wasn't frozen. I proceeded to wait a few minutes, then pressed Esc, and I pressed "Return to Haven". Starts loading haven, I can play again. Next day, I try launch, it is a bglack screen after the Steam auto-login. I decide to reinstall it. Then it works fine. I go to the restroom, then I am auto disconnected.. log back in and.. BAM! First problem. Only this time, it doesn't load Haven over 0%. Reinstalled and verifyed cache, still doesn't work. PLEASE help, I really want to play again.

I don't have a feeling its my specs, but here they are if its any help:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz
Video Card 1: NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M
Video Card 2: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
Memory: 8.1 GB
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit

-Probable Solution-
I don't know what fixed it, but from the two last changes, it's either deleting files left behind in a Steam uninstall, or changing server. Hope this helps someone, and thanks Ewbte!

Check this topic, java replace could help with a lot of different situations, and since you run windows 64, replacing steam's 32bit java with 64bit is a thing to do if you want to take all advantages of your PC for smoother gameplay.

Didn't Change

I've tried all of the solutions, non have worked. Just to clarify, my problem isn't crashing, it's just a black screen.

Did you try to manually set

Did you try to manually set preferable server? According to forums it helped some people.

If not helped again make sure that when you did uninstall SK there is no files left behind. http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/88147

Full Uninstall

I had a look after an uninstall, many files were there, thought it would work but.. same problem. I even tried changing through the servers, 'From IP", USA, Europe, but to no avail. Seems like it doesn't want me to play. Anyway, thanks for your trouble. Seems like finding these would be a lot of trouble.

Just before I pressed save - it auto-disconnected me and it worked! I don't know what changed! Probably the reinstall but, YAY! Thanks so much!
No idea. Seems like my Spiral Knights randomly works/doesn't work. While writing the above, didn't work then after it did.
