Neutralizer is the most bada#$ looking handgun. Raptor (4* new antigua) looks freaking beastly, but it just doesnt beat that pulsating, throbbing blue glow that the neut has.
But anyways, how is the new Neutralizer againdt vanaduke, or anyboss? I thi k it sounda very very viable now, and it old damage values are the same perhaps even OP. But I don't have one so.....thoughts?
Catalyzer has trouble making it thru the fireball wall.
Prior to the update, Neutralizer was essentially a weaker Valiance with a much higher chance of missing the target.
Post-update detonating targets is essentially the same as firing the same number of weak Valiance shots all at once - in the time it takes to set it up on a single large target like Vanaduke, you could have just shot him with a Valiance and done more damage.
Incidentally, pending peer testing, I think I discovered a bug that Neutralizer (but not Biohazard) got it's damage reduced. Reported in game and in the forum.
Exerpa, does it seem that Neutralizer had its damage reduced to be equal to that of Biohazard? Because it used to be larger than Biohazard against neutral targets. Just wondering.
You still have massive potential for the Battlepod series as well as the Royal Jelly.
Against neutral targets, neutralizer does more damage.
This was tested in GH training T3. [Damage bonus medium charge attacks on D23 Neutralizer=405, Biohazard=373, 393 if poisoned]
That being said... I still believe it to be a massive nerf to the line itself.
The tags [primary splash damage] is significantly less but spammable. Against a neutral target, you need more than 3 tags to have more damage than the explosion. The explosive charge shot doesnt deal splash [past hitting two monsters like you would with an antigua normal attack].
Given the charge recoils and attack speed, the catalyzers got a DPS nerf [at CTR med+] because the splash damage builds up slower.
It is significantly easier to build up damage [rewarding spammers] than it was before, but more difficult to detonate if you were to stack on only one monster. In my opinion, the guns overall DPS got nerfed to make it easier to use.
Upon seeing this thread, it is clarified that the normal attack tags are where the discrepancy lies.
I confirm that the tags do put biohazard as being stronger than neutralizer vs neutral armor... while the charge is the other way around.
against roarmulus I think the tags disappear when they hit a shield
