Or you know, have a chance to drop in all the boxes in the summit instead of just the one box?
Because who's OOO's trying to kid?

You go through hell just for a chance at 1 measly box for a maybe you might get lucky next time ring that's no better than the "Gift of Autumn" trinket?
Um, hello?

Also I'm for one way barriers that head down the mountain so you can collect all the loot you passed up, who's with me?

It would be very nice and rewarding, probably a even a great move since the rings aren't anywhere as powerful as the BK helm yet the BK helm seems easier to get.

I agree about the solstice trinket. I wish it was craftable with some kind of token or what have you, because the amount of grinding to get one legitimately just isn't fun for me.

not sure about this year, but last year they were semi-affordable in AH. Did so many of those runs looking for the drop that I had enough money to buy the ring I didn't have.

Anecdotal evidence does not a proper study make.

Keep in mind how many people actually dare go that far, THE ONE BOX, the odds of getting it in THE ONE BOX, and then factoring you need NOT ONE BUT TWO RINGS.

Krakob worked on a study last event. It can be found here.

The difficult part was gathering enough data since there werent many people that go all the way to the end of the mission AND hop on the forums to collaborate with the data. If someone starts up data collection again this event, I'll probably contribute.

Don't hate me

My very first time getting to the end of this mission and I found one. Regardless, it would be cool if it was easier to find but a lot of the fun comes from the thrill of the hunt.

Pics or didn't happen.

If its "no better than the "Gift of Autumn" trinket?", why is it such a big deal that you might not get one? I found 4 silvers and 1 gold ring last year, so its probably not as hard as finding a book of dark rituals. (definitely not as boring as hunting a book) Right now they are sort of a prestige item, because you have to get them from a hard mission that you have to complete lots of times. A token system could work, but then it reminds me of how the community's complaining on the forums made OOO increase the drop rates for the materials, to make the weapons easier to get.

Worst Winterfest ever. OOO confirmed in autopilot mode.

It's the sort of event you probably only want to crawl through once to stock up on the mats. I found 2 silvers last time, but theres no way I'm going through all of that on the slim chance 2 golds might turn up.

It's the same as the Wicked Whisker problem. If you're not hunting that single exclusive item, then it's pointless to participate additional times.
Also, No Fun Allowed.

I am glad the mission

I am glad the mission returned, cause its fun to do. Also this time of the year is busy for everyone, so its good it comes around yearly, in case people need a few more mats to get some weapons or rings they want. I also think its good to give new players who missed the previous event a chance to play it

RNG is almost never fun, but SK relies on it and other content-padding techniques in order to stay alive.

Not sure exactly how much 'alive' that is, but yeah.

> Plancker - If it's no

> Plancker - If it's no better than gift of autumn, then why should anyone waste their time on going all the way to the top, or devs making content for that space at all? It is a big deal because time and resources should be worth the investment. What's the point of this again? "new item"?

The RNG system works, but it's just so skewed at just the one box.

I still dont see the problem,

I still dont see the problem, people can choose to invest their time or resources into getting the rings, nobody is forcing you. For me it was worth farming for them because they have fire as well as freeze + 4hp. They arent better than Heart pendants, but they have some uses for times where they can help you reach an immunity or for example to use as addition to fire resistant armor with fang of vog. If you dont think theyre worth the investment, you can simply choose not to farm for them, doing grinchlin assault just for fun or save winterfest for the other items. I did this when they introduced the BKR, I didnt bother farming for it because I had no interest in the item, I dont like the look and I am satisfied with just 1 BK piece. (and also because the farming is boring and tiresome, and if you dont want to spend money, you would need to find 2 books to be able to get enough invites for a 5* BKR)

By 'invest' you mean gamble,

By 'invest' you mean gamble, right?

While you can make reasonable calculations at how many runs it would take to collect all the event materials, you can't reasonably guess how many it would take to collect a ring set. It might happen in a few runs, or it might never happen.
