Despite the fact that SK isn't as popular as the likes of Minecraft or CoD, it doesnt mean imo that we should lack sufficient youtube content. I feel as though our community doesnt't have any consistent SK youtubers that upload regularly. The only two big SK youtubers that I can think of are Vokster (1.7k subs) and Chawkthree (5k subs). In all honesty guys, we can do far better! Bring on the SK youtube revolution and get uploading!!

:/

Lol, If I were to do a SK weekly play through like Meroka, it would be filled with profanity and my nihilistic worldviews. And quality over quantity, I would rather watch quality SK video than just a crap tonne of amateurs videos.

well Serjinxable has about 0.8k

also known as Solotron.

also..... maybe this community doesn't really need videos. Our game is just that good right? OOO, you feel the love! We love you so much, that we don't need pesky things like YOUTUBE. Right? I mean... FEEL THE LOVE.

Of course, I have no interest of either, just saw Krakob putting the list up on the wiki.

^^^ @Midnight-Dj

Exactly, I would be the same. XD

@Darkemo

If we were to start a "trend" into YouTube with SK, we wouldn't have many quality or "docile" commentators.
Unless we could pull out some oblivious new comer to SK, or at-least a well endowed and someone who actually has time to do it, then "Whoopie?"
All the game would be is grinding, like every other game.
Take a look at WoW (World of Warcraft), sure it's a game that takes the many PC players by storm, and is quite popular and very content filled, but it can mostly consist of grinding other than the story line which can take ages or instances to fulfill ( Reasons why there are so many DLC's). It's been around for a long time, and no big-shot YouTubers are even bothering to even touch it for such a thing. Simple games like Gmod, and other trendy games like Indie Games (/e shudder) are rocking the community. SK is alike every other game, RuneScape, WoW, Everquest(First and foremost the very much popular fantasy themed game, with an extensive DLC line) Unless we get bored with all these games such as Gmod and the dreaded....Indie...Game....(/e throws up in reaction to the body violently rejecting saying "Indie Game") We won't get very far, because we have a huge competition for lesser yet very great games as mentioned above. Go look up some YouTube Channels that revolve around WoW, RuneScape, Everquest, etc, watch at the little popularity.

I consider my content to be of very high quality. I put lots of effort into editing and making good recordings and I hope people appreciate that. That aside, I am indeed not consistent, nor am I very interested in promoting my channel. I see it as a creative outlet just like drawing, writing, and programming and I do it for my own enjoyment.

I have no idea about how other SK YTers feel about this, but given that very few choose to promote their channels, I'd guess that most people just do this stuff for fun.

Either way, I agree with previous poster(s). Quality > quantity.

If I were to pump out videos of SK every day, it would be 5000% less fun for all of us. Do you really want to watch a video of me logging on to collect all my "Item Sold" mails from the Auction House, and then log out? Didn't think so.

my 2 cents

Of course some people make video about the random stuff that happens on SK... (like me)

But it just don't happen often, and watching me grind FSC is boring... even watching me play is boring enough to close the stream... I used to do late night stream but heh, I'm french, most of my friends don't speak english... and I'm not playing PvP one bit

I made a new video about broken random map layout in a cemetary

But it's not entertaining at all, and I'm too lazy to edit dubstep intro and outro with plz subscribes and like so I can feed my cat nonesense cause I would be trying to live off Youtube.

/sarcasm

But I'm really not entertaining and bad at video recording... plus I'm playing in weird resolution for some people (1024 X 768... window mode 4:3 basically, like D2)

Well...

It seems as though everyone disagrees :L Nevertheless I feel as though SK youtubers still could be pretty successful w/ out having to just post vids of them grinding FSC. There are countless types of videos that SK youtubers could create that aren't repetitive, aren't the same old and are totally original; here is what I came up with:

A series of LD guides for different loadouts, styles, classes etc.
'How to run a guild'
Loadout, weapon and armour reviews (I know chawkthree uploads these)
'The dummies guide to the AH'
LD montages are pretty entertaining imo so a few of those
A dual com of a daily mission, or a proto FSC
'How to put together a swaggy costume'
And much much more if you use your imagination!

Anyway I still think there could be some weekly content at least and without it being repetitive.

Hmm..

Spiral Knights at the moment is just too unexciting at a glance with the procedurally generated layouts for individual runs to be a worthwhile upload in my opinion. Plus set content, like the Concrete Jungle or Dark City levels have already been uploaded by a few people, enough to make my own video redundant.

I would record Spiral Knights a tiny bit more if it got along with recording software better.. or maybe that is just my ten year old computer starting to chug. I suppose I am using OBS, but setting up anything else and creating a polished video just for SK sounds like a real thankless chore. I do post stuff on my account, but just silly unlisted stuff to show off to friends: http://youtu.be/HF_lYEHQI1I

@OP

You might wanna search the web before throwing out false statements like there's no active YouTubers. One of your example isn't even active.

SK is just boring now. You know a game is on its last legs when it's up to the community to create events to keep the game interesting. :p There's many more interesting games out there on Steam or on consoles that are a lot more fun. ^.^
