Trinkets VS Gear Stats

Speaking of 5* trinkets (the ones costing 100 tokens)...
1) Status-resistance trinkets: they seem to have the same power as a medium protection on armor. Can someone confirm this?
2) Defense-power trinkets: do they add fully to character's total defense? Or only half like armors and helmet? What's better between a 5* elemental trinket and a UV: Elemental Medium on only one piece of 5* gear?

Uh, only half? That sucks.
However, judging from a Vog Cub with Shadow Med I saw on another player, the trinket seems to give some more defense. Probably not as a High UV though.
1) Yep, they seem to be exactly medium status-resistance. It would be hard to compare the defense trinkets piercing/elemental/shadow since a medium UV on armor will scale with the star level. Someone else will have to confirm that aspect, I don't have anything in my arsenal to do so.
2a) They count as 1/2 for the total.
2b) Not sure. Check out the resistance tests over here for some combinations and outcomes.
