Same problem
I have installed and reinstalled both my java, and Spiral Knights itself on both Steam, and the regular client version, the steam version I can't even get to the login screen because Java crashes, and the client version won't let me login because after I put in the correct name and password it disconnects me after a few seconds. I have the latest java, and video card drivers. I am running windows 7 64bit and my system specs exceed the minimum requirements.

I've seen this (and this happens to me) i have seen a common denominator from other people
im not certain if this applies to the original poster but me and some others had this problem we both have linksis WRT54G router's

If you have a WRT54G that is probably part of your problem. This thread and this thread are about that issue. Three Rings has not patched this issue, they are aware of the problem and are working on a fix, but if you feel comfortable flashing your router with DD-WRT that has worked well for others.
Other players have noted that the WRT54G's hardware is old (that router model is 8 years old already) and it may not be able to handle the full DD-WRT or even Micro DD-WRT.
