VOLTZER WINTER CUP

Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to present to you the very first Voltzer Winter Cup. A “friendly” competition coming to you this holiday season. In an effort to keep the community entertained during winter break something other than farming for tokens must be made. Here are some questions you might have:

What’s all the fuss?

This is a player organized Lockdown event with the sponsorship of the guild Voltzer (aka me) in which we aim to bring some excitement during the holiday season

When is it?

Tentative date for the event is December 26 through January 4, which is when most players should be off for the holidays. We could schedule it to a sooner date if there are plenty of requests for it.

Ok, what are the rules for this thing?

T2 Lockdown with a Round Robin set up. There will be no T3 tournament to keep the games somewhat balanced and fair.

RULES

1. 6 people per team (for GvG matches), plus any number of back ups
2. Best out of 5 matches (first to 3) will win the set, moving on to the next round
3. In the case of teams matching up in different servers, a coin flip will decide which server hosts the first two matches. The opposite server would host the following two
4. All 3 user classes (Striker/Guardian/Recon) must be used equally (2:2:2) during the match. Players may switch classes during the match but only 2 of each class are allowed on the floor at any point. Failure to do so will result in the team losing that match
5. A judge must be present during every match

B-b-but all my T3 super OP UV gear?!?!

That’s what we want to avoid. The point of this event is to have fun and enjoy the matches. My money, my rules :^)

What weapons can I use?

You are free to use any weapon and armor that complies with the requirements for the respective category. Trinkets are allowed.

What about my precious AT?

I have no way of controlling or monitoring that, so it cannot be banned. Remember to be nice and respectful to each other :^)

Wait, why a “Team Representative”?

To negotiate times for the matches. The two team reps would have to come up with a time that works best for the two teams to avoid any conflict. If the two teams cannot come up with a time, I WILL CHOOSE ONE FOR THEM.

Can my friend from guild “X” sub in mine?

Of course! Roster is up to every team, however a player from one team cannot play for another one. THIS INCLUDES BACKUPS.

But my friend is not here and we need an extra player!

Too bad. Your team roster is the only one allowed to play during the event. Failure to adhere to that rule will get your team disqualified. You have backups and the team rep should have set a time that worked for all/most players. I want to avoid any conflict or complaints of players switching teams during the event.

My guild is ridiculously large, can we make more than one team?

Yes, but again, only players in each team roster are allowed to play.

How are you going to track who plays on what teams?

All the rosters will be posted in this thread, for which a judge (or the opposite team) will be fully aware of

I don’t plan on participating, is there a way I can help?

Yes, of course. Promoting this event in Haven or within your guild would be greatly appreciated. I am also looking for judges to oversee some of the matches as they might be scheduled while I’m asleep or busy with my family.
