I don't think alts are that prevalent, aside from maybe a handful of T3 players, but very rarely T2 players who have trouble with crown gain and could use the GSCs to begin with. I'm thinking of Jelly King 1, where you can go left or right in the middle. If one person goes left and the other right, you end up wasting 1/2 the slime coinage if you take longer than 30 seconds.
Golden Slime Casino Discussion
I got this at 1st roll...

I called it (albeit not on this board) that old slime stuff from that promo were gonna be in the slime boxes. Cx
From what I can tell, Slime Lockboxes are only found in machines that also have Kleptolisks, but I'm not certain
There are little markings on the side of boxes. I opened one with "000" markings and got 1 slime firework and a regal node slime container. I opened another before realizing the markings can change.
Right now we have reports of "000", "001", and "002". There may be different prizes inside, so before you open your boxes try to see what markings the description says it has so we can put together some data!
Additionally, this update to the casino makes it a legitimate crown sink. Keys cost crowns, getting the boxes costs crowns. It's good to see it! I'm loving the changes.
Out of an 001, I got divine node slime guards. We should make a separate thread for documentation. o:
There seems to be a new money-only slot machine, handing out 10 crown and 25 crown coins. Doesn't look like it's more profitable, but it's interesting. :P
There's also the Slime Lockbox slot machine, from what it looks like. It has a lower profit, and some kleptos thrown in as well.
I'm gonna cry if they actually have the aura. That's the one aura I like the most and I probably won't be able to get it since I have to leave fro months this weekend.
Slime key on sale. 59.888cr instead of 60.000cr. Is it a joke? -0.187% or 112 crowns.
Lumber still has no replic, just empty bubble.
Casino doesn't have zero profit anymore, reasonable price of lockbox for it is ~6.5kcr.
I think as we as a community buy more slime keys, the price of the slime keys themselves drop slowly. It's sort of a "everyone is sinking crowns, and so we'll make it easier for those who need to make crowns to join in on the fun as long as others keep sinking them" thing.
At least I hope that's the case. If it's just a timer that's sort of boring. Having the price slowly lower as we as a community buy keys means more sinking of crowns as time goes on as players can slowly afford keys more readily.
It also means you can buy slime keys and sell them at their standard price at a profit, which encourages profit seekers to find casinos, buy keys, then sell them to people too lazy to find them in the clockworks.
There's no reason for the casino to exist inside the clockworks themselves, since you can just hunt for it at depth 1 and stay there as long as you like. And if you find it during a team run, whats the point, are party members supposed to leave depending on who wants to stay and who wants to go on?
It should be in haven, probably in the ghost town on the right.
Previously it was a completely nonfunctional addition to the game, now the payout has been nerfed so there's not really any reason to use it, except to get the "prize" box. So it's just another flavor of the month box like gold or copper etc. except getting the system to drop boxes for you is presumably cheaper than the worst kept secret system of 'open a box to get a box'. Gambling for a box so you, or better yet someone else, can gamble with a box..
I guess the key system is useful as a way to reduce crown inflation, for a while anyway. Assuming the keys will always cost 60Kcr, then the crown-key is cheaper until energy goes below 8Kcr per 100e. It will be interesting what happens once people have had their fill of slime junk.. It's worth mentioning that crown-keys could have been implemented at anytime, but better late and floundering than never, right? (Incidentally, how many cosmetics have unbound so far?)
As for the "prizes" in the box, like all unboxed gear the sword and the shield are 5* and can not be equipped by tier 2 players, who make up presumably most of the players nowdays. Add to that they are just reskins of plain old gear that anyone who can use them could have made at anytime in the last 5 years, yet very few actually did, they don't have a lot going for them anymore. It's now physically possible to unbox more than can be utilized by those who can use it, to the point you would be loosing money because trashing it for 30Kcr is half of what you bought it for with keys. I guess we get to find out at what point the system becomes self balancing.
Node slime cosmetics are very nice in appearance (to many at least).
Casino being in haven would have been better before, however now in order to get the keys you have to dive into the clockworks. This makes people play the game in order to seek out casinos again, which makes us feel more involved. This is good for an MMO where we've felt swept under the rug for a few years. Personally I believe the deeper you go the better odds the prize wheels should have, thus incentivize looking for stratum 6 casinos for best profit (imagine always making 50 x 3 minimum at depth 28 as crown rewards - each failed roll would be only 50 crowns down the drain).
Additionally, the keys cost 60k, however fall in price either over time or as more keys are bought. This is a double-dipping crown sink that doesn't feel evil - we use crowns or slime coins to gamble for boxes, then we have to spend crowns to buy a key to open it. In this way, crowns are always taken out of the economy, allowing for energy prices to fall as crowns become desirable over energy.
I'd love to see more systems like this implemented if possible. Not a full blown casino, but imagine a devilite coffee shop in devilish drudgeries? Make them sell boxes, and then have devilites drop glyphs year round, and have keycards or silver keys open the lockboxes. Bam, now we seek out fiends, slimes, and gremlin thwackers all for different reasons.
Apparently it summons a blue slime to fight for you, (tadashi was too lazy to upload it)
These suggestions are real serious, and are to be treated with great.......seriousness (Also, I hope it's not too long, don't want to kill everyone with boredom, I hope this is useful to someone, somewhere!).
(I might mention a few suggestions that other players may have suggested already, but please correct me if I'm wrong)
Unrelated:
Spinning the slot machine will hurt when cursed, or when receiving a heart while poisoned.
Positive stuff:
A slot machine for material drops, of the tier of GSC used.
A chance (Maybe one in a millionth chance) to give a piece of equipment (Armor, Helmet, Weapon, Shield, Trinket, Etc.) and even rarer with a Unique Variant
Fire crystals chance.
Orbs of Alchemy chance.
Shadow/Silver/Slime Key chance.
Bucket of (Slime?) chance.
Minerals chance.
Final positive suggestion (I absolutely vouch for this one):
After obtaining the third achievement, the wheels can have a ("slight") chance to give/change a unique variant on a random(or selected?) piece of equipment.
Negative stuff (The negativity started to hurt my mental health so I shortened it from the original size):
Chance to spawn a monster that will attack the player.
Chance for a player to lose life pips.
Chance for a bomb shell to spawn, and explode instantly on the player.
Chance for another player to lose life pip.
Chance for a rocket to be shot at the player.
Chance for a player to receive a random negative status effect.
(This one is a little bit, crazy:) Chance for a player to join a random, public party.
Chance for a player to make an "absurd comment(GLORP!)."
Chance for a player to walk out of the casino.
Final negative suggestion (Phew! That was a long list! At least it's over!):
Chance for a player to lose an item (Not equipables, but vials, barriers, health capsules, remedy capsules, --->Ocarina of Slime, Etc.)
But wait, it's not over!
As long as the suggestions keep coming in, there is still hope for the Golden Slime Casino to prevail! GO SLIMES, GOOOOO!!!!
I just got a 003 slime box while spinning the wheel :O

They hurt Grey Havens please i didn't know my money borrowing would come back to bite me! Whammie! http://imgur.com/dezcWdt
10k is a lot of spins.. Would it be possible to have a progress meter for this achievement? It's possible if you add it as a Steam achievement.
@Flowsick
Did you get achievement for that, please check it.
Today I got a second Slime Lockbox after like ten spins. Yesterday, it took hundreds of tries just to get one.
On that note, is it really worth it to open these boxes? I'd love to get a Node Slime Mask, Guards, Crusher, or Wall, but I don't know what the rough odds are of getting any of those things.

The other thread on this topic exists exactly to gather such data:
Ooh, looks like it might be worth it to get a key then, if that stuff is common-ish to get. Today's lockbox was a much luckier find than I thought; it's a 003, apparently the rarest one.
Got new vial "Luck potion"
Got 403 slime box
Got fire crystals
Also there are many materials on the roll.
Yay, new slime boxes. :D Don't forget to post what box you get and what stuff you get out of it on the data thread.
Seconding what Ogy saw. I was rolling on a "heart + potion" machine, and after using a luck potion while in the machine, it started showing more items, such as rarities (fire crystals) and materials.
I'm making a quick assumption that rarities and materials are depth dependent, as I was only getting up to 2* materials and 2* crystals on a depth 9 casino. This means casinos may have potential to give radiant fire crystals in stratum 6. I'll need to test this theory, but if it's true... I'll be spending a lot of time in that later tier casino.
I'm diggin' that idea, Fangel. A luck potion sounds REALLY handy if the loot is stratum tied. Getting rads will be insanely profitable. @.@ I'll see if I can do some runs in S6 for a casino.
In the depth 9 casino I was getting slime materials on the wheel, but only up to 2*. Friend got me to a stratum 5 casino, and I've gotten some materials up to 4*! If I end up confirming the 5* bit for stratum 6 I'll be sure to post about it on here.
So a guildie got me to stratum 6 now. I can confirm materials go up to 5* here (got a royal skewer). I think I see glowings going by on the casino wheel, but they're going by too fast to know what they actually are - so it might be "all rarities up to stratum star level", which would be pretty cool.
I still have no idea what luck potions do.
I don't know if this has been asked or not but does the tier or stratum change the chances of getting a box?
So I found a casino - and also found a slot machine with luck potions. I rolled until i got three, then i consumed all three and played on a different slot machine - i immediatly got my first Lockbox of THIS event (004) and a within it. I have no idea, if luck potions actually have that effect: more to come, I'll try again.
Mats appear to be from the slime-theme drops only.
Luck potion has a somewhat obscure tooltip.
Just saw this in a trade window. The unboxer didn't think to screenshot the unboxes at the time but he says he received, out of one 403 box the following, 50 slime coins, 2 of each firework size and a hunter slime box. He then opened said hunter slime box and received the hunter node receivers. This is really cool to me, even though I hate hunter. This could mean surge slime stuff, lovely slime stuff, etc. in the future. O:
I was really hoping they'd have more than just node slime stuff in them; unless more f2p box methods are to come it's a relatively poor move-- the drive to open these types of boxes is greatly diminished when you already have all the slime stuff you'll ever need and then some.
So far (1122 spins) I've came across:
- (35x) 10cr. x12
- (46x) 10cr. x15
- (30x) 10cr. x18
- (196x) 25cr. x5
- (30x) 25cr. x7
- (375x) 50cr. x2
- (283x) 50cr. x3
- (23x)50cr. x4
- (33x) 50cr. x5
- (19x) 50cr. x6
- (25x) 50cr. x8
- (10x) 50cr. x10
- (5x) 50cr. x14
- (1x) 50cr. x20
- (9) 50cr x100
- (1) 50cr x140
- (1) Slime Lockbox
995 times out of 1122 (88.68%) I got less than 200 crowns, 2.05% of total were 200cr spins, 9.27% of the time I gained crowns (or a Lockbox).
All spins would cost 224.4kcr. but I got 216.25k back which means 96.37% (192.74cr. per spin) return of "investment" but I've also got the Slime Lockbox so I think we're not supposed to lose a lot (per spin) and the gamble goes down mostly to contents of Slime Lockboxes (~60k per key).
It heavily depends on the wheel. The wheel you were spinning is one I've named the "silver crown wheel". There are a multitude of wheel variations, and only certain ones have lockboxes on them.
(First casino appearance)
- Golden Crown Wheel
- Heart Wheel
- Vials Wheel
- Double or Nothing Wheel
(Second iteration)
- Golden Crown Wheel
- Altered Golden Crown Wheel*
- Silver Crown Wheel*
- Heart Wheel
- Vials Wheel
- Lockbox Wheel*
(Current casino)
- Golden Crown Wheel
- Silver Crown Wheel*
- Heart Wheel
- Vials Wheel
- Material Wheel*
- Altered Material Wheel*
* personally confirmed to have lockboxes on the wheel
At least those are the names I've been giving them. For the most part I've never seen a golden crown wheel give a lockbox, however a friend of mine has from a machine right next to mine, and after 3 hours of spinning and me only getting crowns I pretty much confirmed that my wheel had no lockbox on it.
Also just for the sake of keeping a number alive, this time the slime keys seem to be selling in a different number batch. They went down to 59,595 at one point, now it's down to 59,295. Last time it went down in increments of I think 100 or 10, I can't remember.
More info relating to the previous post I made: the price during this mini casino for the keys was 58,985 crowns for keys for the entire event.

If there's a third achievement, I'm reasonably sure it has to be beyond one million spins, or there's some additional caveat (only spins with GSC count, etc.).
You can't really tell by looking at the colors of achievement series to figure out how far it'll go. The Tier 1/2/3 expeditions go bronze/silver/gold. The armor/bomb/etc. go bronze/bronzesilver/silver and stop at three. The ones that go to five start the same way but add silvergold/gold.
It also looks like even if you do the wheel with nothing but cr options (although you do get the occasional chromalisk), expected return is slightly negative.
Only reason I can think of adding the 30 second rule is because of missions like Sewer Stash. First level has lots of slimes, and since there's no midway party button, it's very easy to camp alts at the arsenal and have them run through after a main account goes through and kills everything. But it definitely screws over people on Vana D25, where people tend to split up and tackle rooms (which have slimes) separately.
