some tips
There's no reason to curse or flip out at them, they're working on it sometimes it's really hard to find and squash bugs in code. Getting angry isn't going to make them magically fix it, especially since their coding team is all of 3 people.
Anyway more info to add, the bug can be invoked by zoning. I just got stuck leaving emberlight, and now I can't even get logged into the game.
Here's two things I discovered that *might* fix it if you get stuck on the heading into town screen, most of which I got from a GM.
Try switching languages sometimes that helps
One I discovered on my own but got the idea from the GM trying to whisk me off the screen, you can push escape and then click the "return to haven" button, and it might get you into the game.
It seems to be some weird connectivity issue, the GM was unable to whisk me into Haven when I was talking to them because I wasn't "quite connected enough". Which I take to mean, even though I'm on the character chosing screen, my client and the server aren't talking to each other very well.

hey brojojojo. it finally caught up with you huh? it's me Tabbs. we're in the same guild. i'll try to remove you from the guild. i can still log in via our family desktop. but i still can't log in via my laptop.
EDIT: I don't know if the problem has been fixed but i'm able to log in now. I disconnected my laptop (my main) from our wireless network then i connected with a wired connection. then i connected with my wireless connection and disconnected my wired connection. eventually i got logged out. but after logging back in. i was able to enter Haven. i haven't tried logging out and logging back in yet though.
EDIT: ok i logged out and tried to log in again, but i couldn't enter Haven. I really thought it worked. :(
EDIT: i can't log in at all. not even on my desktop or on a wired connection. ok heres how it went. i was in training hall and when i exited all i got was a black screen, i logged out. but now i can't log in again.

Info: I think i got stuck leaving depth 13 of a dungeon going back to haven....just got a black screen with the title along the top.
->left for 5 minutes and it didn't do anything so i restarted the game and got the problem
EDIT: after about 2 days i was able to log in, been on and off a few times now so it seems to have fixed (everything seems to be working)
however when i was on the other acc. i made to try and fix, i got the steam mask helm mail on that =\ is there anyway to transfer to main?

I left a party at the clockworks (8th floor), screen blackened and freezed before loading, i had to close the game from the desktop. Then this issue appeared.

Something that worked for me
After many attempts to log in, I rebooted my router (Linksys RV082) and was able to log in. It may just be a coincidence, but it would be a hell of an occurrence if you ask me.

I may be stuck but here is some things that might help trying...
As development can't you run the code and see what proccesses it is doing? if you do that maybe you can isolate either what is looping or what section it is coming from....
that would probably narrow your search >_>
usually when i am programming i use something that runs it set by step or shows what it is doing.

I got on a few times normally, and by clicking "return to haven". It only works about 20% of the time.
The weird thing for me was that I got on one time just to trade with my friend and after the trade I was kicked. I tried a couple of times to re-log in and when I got in I went from 90kcr to -28.5kcr... I would REALLY like that 90kcr back =[
Another thing was that when I got in from the multiple attempts, I did not have a guild, so I assumed I was kicked from the guild. I eventually got kicked from the game while trying to enter the elevator but when I logged back in my guild showed up again...The guilds might only be partially responsible for this bug.
I might have been hit with the crown bug AND "heading to town..." bug T_T
