Was just fine before, but today....
I had been playing just fine earlier today, but then I left my computer for a while (leaving my character logged in) and when I got back, it had logged me out due to inactivity. When I tried to log back in, it got stuck.
I tried the changing-languages trick and after a few tries I was able to get into Haven, but I haven't tried going into the clockworks yet. Thing is, I've been in a guild for several days now without any problems except for today. After finally getting my character to load, I left my guild and logged out and back in as a test and sure enough, I was able to log in normally without any problems.
I'd like to join my guild again, but until Three Rings fixes the bug, that's going to have to wait. Hope they figure it out soon. Keep those fingers crossed!

I was playing against the jelly king when he proved to be unkillable for some strange reason and wouldn't die within the typical range... so I tried to teleport back to haven after dying and the screen went black. Now it won't let me log on :c

I got this bug after alchemizing a 2 star item... then logging off due to insufficient energy =.= i tried logging in later and couldn't log in anymore... it should be random...
They are doing their best now... considering this game was only released recently and also in development of another game... let them give their best... but if we paid for a game there is a must to fix this asap
-edit I have Windows 7... those who said to update java is wrong... i updated java from ver 6 update 25 to ver 6 update 26 and it still doesn't work though

Just for OOO's information,
Just for OOO's information, this is definitely some sort of local (possibly hardware/driver related) problem.
On my laptop I get stuck "Heading into town" about 90% of the time. This is a crappy old machine with an Intel 855GM graphics chipset running Ubuntu, which can't even render the textures properly, but it perfectly capable of letting me use the AH and craft. I can't change Haven instances on this laptop either.
HOWEVER, I can log in reliably, every time on my (Vista) desktop, where I have never experienced this problem at all.
So if you are really desperate to play, have a go on someone else's computer ;)

Connection problem might be temporary solution?
I managed to get in to the game, but that was directly after losing and restoring my connection to steam. Maybe resetting your internet/steam connection might help?

Yes. This happens to me too. I loop in and out of black screen / not loading when I change zones, followed by 15-20 minutes being unable to connect.
I log on an alt to fix the issue and 30 seconds after I'm back on my main I try to enter a dungeon or change "rooms" and it's black/unresponsive all over again.

i remember a few hours before i tried going back onto the game, my security program (trend micro) said it had removed a possible trojan from a file, which might have said steam.. backups? or something ._.
i didn't really think much of it and then i remember it after i had been playing
