Hello everyone!
I'm sure most of you reading this played before April 10 2013.
The old UI was great, but what if we had the option to switch from modern UI to Legacy UI?
In my opinion, the new UI is a bit more of a downgrade than an upgrade, all it really did was add gloss to everything and take more important things (like the health bar) out of your field of view.
Legacy mode
This has been suggested many times. Personally, I'm not opposed to it, but I regard it as an extremely low priority compared to new levels, balancing, etc.
This thread has had several occurrences before, there was once an official staff response going along the lines of "No" justified mainly the same way Bopp did there. The old UI has been gone for years now, personally I'd say it's about time to let go of it.
"We currently have no plans to revert the game's UI to a previous version or provide an option to do so. That UI was in place long before a number of changes and would take a significant amount of work to accomplish. Given that many like the current UI, we plan to focus our efforts on other areas of the game."

Refer to the thread below because I don't know how HTML codes work to just slot the link into one of these lines because I'm stupid.

I do agree that the old icons were very stylistic and very unique to Spiral Knights, but finding out what item was what was kinda inefficient. The current icons are a lot better for quick comprehension of what you're looking at. The con with the current icons in my opinion is that whenever you hover over the item it has a little spike of lag (I don't typically make it a big deal though).
As for hoping a legacy option, don't get your hopes up, as Pluto already said, they likely aren't going to re-implement it. Although, it would be cool if that was in the game.
I'd like the option to disable the 3D model thing at least. It really lags down inventory management.
Moreso than the UI changes, I sorta miss the old icons. They felt more stylistic, and reminded me a lot of the icons used in Monster Hunter.
But in the same token, when playing both (moreso Monster Hunter), I'll often have to look over at the item itself to figure out what the heck it is. Spiral Knights could've easily remedied that with a larger variety of icons, I guess, but this method works, too.
