Spiral Knights Artist's Event - Spiral Knights is turning 6!

Spiral Knights is coming up on its 6th birthday in early April! To celebrate six years of diving into the clockworks, a small handful of artists and myself are hosting an Artist’s event!
--- What is the event? ---
This is an event for amateur and experienced artists alike to show their appreciation for Spiral Knights! All skill levels and artstyles are welcome - we want to see what amazing work you all can come up with! We figured that six years of hosting a game is a pretty great milestone, so what better way to celebrate than with creativity?
--- How does it work? ---
If you’d like to participate, simply create an original art piece for Spiral Knights and upload it to a website that we can access. Imgur and Deviantart are preferred.
Your art should reflect one of the following as its theme:
- Spiral Knights turning six years old!
- Grey Havens and Three Rings - the new and the old
- Your favorite Spiral Knights Event!
Your post should follow the format below:

You need to get your art piece submitted by April 7th at 11:59PM game time.
NOTE: Due to connection issues regarding Spiral Knights websites, the due date has been extended to April 10th. You can view the post regarding this by clicking here.
Throughout the duration of the event, all users are able to give a thumbs up to up to two art entries. You can change your votes as new entries are submitted, but a total of 2 will be counted. Players cannot vote for their own submission if they participate.
After April 7th, Event Supervisors will tally up the scores and announce the winners from the votes. Roughly half of all entrants will be declared winners of the event. After the winners are announced, the event enters its second stage.
Following the announcement of the winners, those who participated but didn’t win will get partnered up with one of the winners. From here, the participants get to request a free art commission from the winning artist! The art can be anything, so long as the artist is comfortable creating such an artpiece. The artist is then given an additional two weeks to finish their commission, unless a timeline is settled on between the two artists.
--- Why should I participate? ---
The biggest reason is simple - it’s for fun! However, I can understand that some of you may want incentive to participate. As such, all members are entered into a participant giveaway via donations from the community! I’ll be throwing some items into the pot to kickstart it, however I will be accepting donations into the rewards pot from all who wish to donate!
The giveaway will take place on Saturday April 22nd, at 4:00PM game time.
On top of this, all winners can earn up to 10k-50k crowns (depending on levels of participation) for their commission!
”Up to?”
Yes. Upon completion of the second half of the event, those who complete their commissions get to be scored on a scale from 1 to 10 by the person who commissioned the art piece! Depending on the score given, the artist will earn whatever amount of crowns that the commissioner deems worthy*, with a maximum amount ranging from 10k crowns to 50k crowns. This amount can increase as the event goes on, but will start at a minimum of 10k.
*(NOTE: Depending on the art piece, Event Supervisors can overrule unfair scores and instead score them on their own metrics)
So as a participant of this event you get A) some stuff, B) to make some art, and C) get a bit of cash or an amazing art piece just for you!

Would it be possible for us to work with the GMs to get additional prizes and promotion for this event?
Specifically-
A) They have the power to double all the rewards if they wanted to. Not that they need to, just that they could make the event grander than ever... and yes, I am aware that the GMs/Grey Havens/Fangel are strangely fine with having a small community that doesn't warrant creating as much new content as it deserves.
B) They have the power to mass mail and mass PM everyone and use the official Twitter. This would be very helpful for such an event because it would allow you to REALLY spread the word beyond the handful of people that read the forums. It would also allow you to share the artwork after the event.

I'm not requesting any investment from the GMs for this event, as it was more of a spur-of-the-moment collaboration with the other Event Supervisors. As it stands, I've promoted it on several platforms already (Reddit, Discord, here, Twitter). If the Game Masters or anyone at Grey Havens wishes to help promote the event I would be happy to be in contact, however for this event I think we'll get by pretty well just on our own. :)

That's true. They'll see this for sure, regardless of whether they post on it. Another thing they could do would be to sticky it for the right amount of time, just like they do for official competitions. The GMs used to do that with important threads back in the day as well.

You can use other sites to post your art, yes. However, Imgur is free to use and you do not need to create an account to post an image.
Just be weary that you should keep your pictures in a place that still follows the forum rules. You're free to post it anywhere you like, but websites that are known for explicit content or delivering malware should be avoided at least for entering your art into this event. Cheers!

My artwork is complete. I rewrote smash mouth's all star. You never said that I couldn't submit songs or meme out of control. I call it-

Boom!
Hello everyone! So I decided that I would give a shot at making some art to celebrate SPIRAL KNIGHT's 6TH BIRTHDAY! :D
So as you can see from the logo, Spiral Knights was originally a sword-fighting based game with handguns as sidearms. Sometime later, the developers decided to buff the handguns a bit too, which is great. However….
The bombs want some love too! This is why I themed my art around the Nitronome because it has, well a cute face on it. The other thing is that it has a very attractive light coming from the top. So, I decided to incorporate this into the design. I don’t know if this actually fits within category 2, but I hope so!

@Storm-Traveler - Ah, my apology. The theme in my picture isn't completely clear but it's going after a mix of SK's 6th birthday and the 'new and old' aspect of the game. The growth of the knight going from proto armor to a full-fledged Vanguard was to symbolize the growth of SK through the years. In other news, the forums have been down for many users lately due to some strange region blocking going on. Because of such, the art contest deadline will likely be extended, but if possible try to aim for April 7th. If I do extend it I will post about it prior to April 8th.

Due to recent forum connection issues (that are ongoing, at that), I'm extending the deadline for posting art 3 days, ending on April 10th at 11:59PM game time.
If you know someone who's trying to get their entry posted, they can submit it to me in two ways outside of the forums:
- Joining the unofficial Spiral Knights Discord server and sending me the same information (knight name, link to entry). You can have them join the server by sending them this link: http://discord.me/spiralknights
- Have them send an in-game mail to "Fangel" with a link to their entry pasted into the mail. If the link is absurdly long, please condense it using tinyurl or other URL shorteners.

Feel free to pass on this information to any people who are interested. I'm loving every piece of art submitted thus far - everyone is so talented!

The voting segment will go on for a little while, as due to the issues with connecting to the forums, I have made a collection of the entries on the Discord channel listed above, allowing users on that platform to help vote for their favorite art entries! You can still vote on your favorites here on the forums, but as that audience is currently limited, I've moved some voting elsewhere as well.
It's been fun thus-far, but let's see who's art gets chosen for the next part!

Q: Can I make more than one entry?
A: Yes, you can make one art piece for every theme listed. However, you can only "win" once, even if you make three art pieces and they all get voted into winner territory.
Q: What counts as "art"?
A: Pretty much anything you can create! Traditional art, such as pencil and paper or digital art is encouraged, however other types of art, such as a shadow box, puppet, or even writing your own song is welcomed! So long as you keep to the themes, you can make anything!
