I absolutely love the game but the lag makes it almost impossible to play.
Is there any chance there could/would Australian servers in the near future?

Too early!? Is your think pan all rusted? This suggestion has been made enough times to suggest there is a genuine and growing need for new servers.
Speaking from my own experience, I live in Karachi, Pakistan, and even if the power isn't screwing me over and the internet connection is having a good day, I STILL suffer from lag and slowdown which makes me die constantly and look like a massive tool to anyone I'm playing with because I keep jerking and jumping around the map and not hitting anything even when I'm right up against it.
We need new servers and we need them yesterday x___X

How is it kind of early? remotely? is Australia now considered as some small un-populated country still?
like, really? with the release of steam, OOO already missed out on a large population of avid gamers (pretty sure everyone i know has steam, and is on it non-stop). i invited a ton of people from Australia, and the majority quit because of the 2 second lagg... heck, i don't even know why I'm still here 'cept to socialize.
