Shield UV (Game Masters)
I just spent 400k spinning UV and after spinning 20 times it seemed strange that no UV status appeared so I looked in forums about this and it turns out that in 2014 someone posted this error https://forums.spiralknights.com/es/node/104597, I know that they will not fix the GH error but at least return the money and remove the information from the wiki
P.D: Sorry for my english
ID:Eldstripador

Probably send a support ticket, https://www.spiralknights.com/support/#requests_new.
They might refund you since it is entirely their fault that this isn't patched, though recent events have put me to doubt as to their 'ethics'.

I'm sorry to hear that you wasted a bunch of money. 400,000 crowns is a lot to me too.
As Midnight-Dj says, you need to contact support. The players on this forum can't help you.
The wiki page about Punch does clearly state that he won't give status UVs to shields. In the future, consider reading more of the wiki, before making big investments (although the wiki's not perfect).
It's not clear that it's an "error" that Punch can't put status UVs on shields. It could be an intentional feature, although I confess that I can't quite figure out the intention.
Clotho - Today at 4:04p. m.:
Thank you for your patience! The variants acquired with Punch are working as intended. The linked forum thread indicates a player's opinion only.
The wiki here has more information: https://wiki.spiralknights.com/Unique_variant#Helmets.2C_Armor_Suits.2C_...
Please note the wiki is edited by players. We do review posted articles and make sure they're accurate, but Game Masters don't update them regularly - players do. Having said that, because the page wasn't as clear as it could've been for you I've added a note on Punch.
I'm sorry, but we can't offer a refund in this case as it is working as intended and not caused by a bug. I'm sorry this will be disappointing.
Eldstripador - Yesterday at 2:25p. m.:
I spin 20 times and in none of those 20 did it come out (Fire, poison, Electricity, freezing, Stun)
I refer to that as NO uv Status
And yes referring to the Swiftstrike Buckler
I'm sorry if I didn't make myself understood, I don't speak English well
Clotho - Yesterday at 2:21p. m.:
Greetings,
Are you referring to the Swiftstrike Buckler? Can you please clarify what you mean about no UV status?

I just want them to return my 400k and remove the information from the wiki: https://wiki.spiralknights.com/Unique_variant

@Raulmond
Buddy, it is entirely your fault for not noticing it 3-6 rolls in. You should have researched a little more on it.
Most people who play this game probably didn't even know wiki existed, and why would he notice something like RNG results being gated for shields and not other armors? He might think it is just bad luck up until that point and since the UV rolls work on armor, why won't they work on shield? This is a leap of logic any gamers will make.
Now if punch had some throwaway dialogue that says 'hey buddy, if you want status UV on that shield of yours then forget it, we don't do that here because a freaky knight in purple armor with a golden laurel told us not to or face immediate execution. Vog knows why but I won't piss them off if I were you.' Then I would say this is fair, but the fact that there is no in game details or lore that would insinuate that you won't get status UV on shield is misleading at best, scamming at worst.
Sorry to say that you've lost to... a meager amount of which can be earned again by doing 40 Vanaduke runs.
I am sort of at a lost... of words on this one, but there is nothing MEAGER about 40 vanaduck runs. That is approx. FOURTEEN HOURS OF PLAYTIME even by your own extremely optimistic estimate of 20 mins. I am pretty sure Eldstripador can play a better game at that point rather than playing the same thing over and over again. I doubt he can get the run time down to 20 mins without some extra weapons and trinkets as well as good UVs. Which is ironic considering the topic of this compliant.
ps. if you actually play 60 vanaduck runs a day at a 20 mins/run rate, that is 20 hours of SK per day, yeah, I am calling your bluff.
What were you even looking to roll on your Swiftstrike buckler? Why are you so convinced that a status UV must be the only valuable UV on your SSB? This is a genuine question. Or is it because you saw someone offering a load of money for one with status UVs? Or did you roll 20 times, got 20 low rolls and decided you wanted your money back?
It is all very confusing because the facts are that any UV on SSB is hardly going to provide you with a noticeable defense increase in a practical sense. So I am really confused why you decided that you wanted to have a status UV on your SSB. And if you saw someone offer an amount that seemed too good to be true for a simple status UV shield, you probably should have questioned why it seemed to be too good to be true.
The reason Punch doesn't offer status UVs is because shields have inherent status resists that nullify that status. So any UV on top of that has no effect at all. And while it is true that a status high/max UV on a shield without an inherent resistance does give a noticeable increase in defense, this is almost never actually useful because there is a wide variety of shields that players can craft in order to cover all bases (with a few exceptions). You do not need a fire max dread skelly shield because a crest of almire covers fire+shadow and does it better than a fire max dread skelly would (nullification of fire damage vs reduction of fire damage). Having Punch give out status UVs would mean that instead of 4 options you now have 10 possible rolls. On most shields, at least 4 or 5 of these rolls would be absolutely useless. (2 statuses already nullified by the shield itself, the others nullified by other craftable shields). So it makes a lot of sense to not have punch provide status rolls (imagine the amount of threads like this one if it did, except it would go more along the lines of: "I just spent 400k spinning UV and got FIRE MAX on my grey owlite shield and now someone is telling me it does not give me any additional defense, GAME MASTERS REFUND ME")
And yes, your SSB does not have inherent status resist so therefore it does not nullify status damage and could actually benefit from a status UV. Except that it is a 3 star shield... why are you spending all your money rolling on a 3 star item that has no further upgrade line? Base SSB can tank 1 hit and MAX UV SSB's can tank 1 hit. Think before you roll...
My advice: Punch is a crown sink and very expensive.
Do not roll at punch without careful preparation. Do your research (think before you roll...)
Do not spend crowns at Punch that you needed for other things.
Buy specific UVs from other players if possible (often much cheaper than trying to get a specific UV from Punch).
Roll on low star items to maximize the number of upgrade lines available to you, which increases the number of valuable UVs (e.g. shadow max on a wolver coat is much better than Shadow max on a skolver coat, because the wolver coat can still be upgraded to snarbolax).
Roll on low star items to allow yourself to easily sell unwanted UVs (e.g. if you roll a ctr medium on your 5 star lvl 10 electron vortex, you will have to roll over it to get CTR VH. If you roll that ctr med on an unbound 3 star electron bomb, you can sell it for a nice amount of money on the auction house.)
tl;dr: Punch isn't bugged, refunds would set a hilarious precedent, think before you roll

Midnight-Dj's suggestion is reasonable. Ideally, the game would be self-contained, rather than requiring you to look stuff up on the wiki.
I think that the designers purposely hid a lot of the technical details, to make the game more casual and less wonky --- what MSI+1 really means, how exactly armor reduces damage, etc. But the fact that Punch can't give a shield a status is not a minor technical detail, as the original poster has shown us.
Well as I put in the conversation I was looking for a uv in Swiftstrike Buckler, I play with a chaos set (my helmet have freeze max and my armor Fire max).
I play without Trinkets and to have more defense in FSC, I just wanted a uv of fire on my shield (I didn't care if it was low, medium or high).
Because it was useless to put a UV protection on a 3-star shield that with a blow breaks (for FSC) it rotates 20 times (I rolled 10 I played a FSC and I rolled 10 again) and in none of those did a uv punch come out ( freeze, poison, fire, shock, or curse) which seemed strange to me, because I read in the wiki that it could come out, then I started asking in haven if anyone knew anything about uv in shield, nobody answered me and look in forums (https://forums.spiralknights.com/es/node/104597), and send the message to support, and I quote "I looked in forums about this and it turns out that in 2014 someone posted this error https://forums.spiralknights.com/es/node/104597",
I thought it was an error because I did not find another forum about that and they did not give an answer and that the last message was in 2017, and I requested that they remove the Information from the wiki if it was wrong and if it was possible they will return my 400k, in the end I will not get my money back.
My message was not to "scam" GH, it was just to get an answer on the Shield UV error ?.
And one thing to add would be that before April 12 the wiki did not have a message (I read the wikis before looking for uvs in weapons and armor and that message was not there)
https://ibb.co/0m6R03W (2021)
The same day the case was closed for some reason and a couple of hours later.
Unfortunately I can't access a page closer to the date https://ibb.co/PMmmwnn (26/october/2018)
And of course look for information before spending my money (if the wiki had that "message", this would not have been created
https://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/104597 )
I finish by saying that at least they add information that can be useful to the new.
Well looking for information I found something more than "mysterious"
I can't see the page changes ( https://ibb.co/Mfb86gK )
But..... if I can see all the changes ( https://ibb.co/GMZ6qvp )
And..I did not find any changes from October 26, 2018 to April 11, 2021
So look for the changes of each GM During all dates
And.. technically the wiki validate my point until the end of April 12, 2021

As far i can see, there are 3 common errors by players and the game or ho runs the information. (Which is almost nule in-game and you need to research via Wiki)
One:
The misslead information and edition on Wiki about UV and what pieces of your set is applicable. Eldstripador showed already that the information on the page was edited badly since 2 pages states different facts. One generalizing that all pieces of armor and others can be applied UV's, and the other excluding this information and denying that shields can get the UV. That's a human error, but very bad redacted in some sort and obvious, that shows ho ran the info just contradicted himself. (NOT a player's error).
Two:
In-game don't mentions too much details about this facts, which is a very, VERY, big detail for new and old players. Never says anything or alludes to the fact that hits now on this post. Just general details in fact and in a fast way that most of players ignore and don't relate at all more details for the pieces getting a roll. Players that don't use the wiki is more common even for veterans ho played for years, even on more important events. In-game the wiki is amost unused by the first error (Check Error number one as example), by information that is incorrect or never apeals other pages of the Wiki itself to re-assure all data is written on. If it's updated, there still missing data. And you can't deny it. (But as all things, it will never be perfect, so the thing is not so bad as i said before. But still, NOT a player's error at 100%)
Three:
The player's do not always consult pages for info, even for small or big things on the personal course or masive events, they come to other players for more data to play safely and sure that error are not commited. That's simple and a mere Player error, but is understandable to some extent, since the other two Error compliment to don't use the wiki as usual. Y'all can even ask your fellas Knights and tell you almost the same in other words.
Resume: Even if Eldstripador did not inform himself about the UV case, still are a large number of facts that plays against him and a large number of players. Remember that people always can make mistakes, yes. But, the same mistake 2 times? Now that's... hilarious, in some way to say it at least. Even tho, he didn't knew and in not his fault at 100% even he rolled... 20 times in a row? (Man, that's..! Wow. I dunno how tell this.) But anyway, he tried to make a more plausible build for him and don't pull out some trinkets and the space for example, and that info is not on the game or advised. In some way this is mildly infuriating. Does not matter what kind of piece he was trying to roll, that is his stuff and i saw someone complaining about that. Don't throw that on the theme, it has no relevance on the problem and the election for Eldstripador, is, as said, his own election for his build.
Still, he tried his best to advise in this post about this and he even researched on wiki the editors and error on it, and some plp try to wash the hands off on the theme (Vía saying like: ''The Wiki is always updated!''. Which is not true at all.), discouraging more players to help in these cases like this one.
Help the poor man dude. It does not matter if they do not return the money that he won & spent honestly, but at least try to find a solution for this stuff and hope the best.
Here is what GH gains or hopes to gain from denying this man a refund: The man gives in and buys energy straight from the depot to compensate for his loss, filling GH's pockets with money.

It is true that the wiki page Unique Variant did not mention this information until this week. But (as I pointed out in post #3 above) the wiki page Punch has contained this information for a while --- in fact, since 2015-02-06.
> I can't see the page changes ( https://ibb.co/Mfb86gK )
That's because you likely clicked on the "Related changes" button, which doesn't display edits on the page itself. You can find history of the page by clicking on the "History" button at the top.
Also, wiki is edited mainly by players. GMs contribute rarely, if ever.
@Eldstripador I understand it was a mistake, I'm just saying that even if Punch did offer fire low/max UV, they would still be negligible in terms of extra defense on your SSB. That is what I meant by doing your research before rolling, so that you have a clear goal in mind and are sure that that goal is beneficial to you. Just rolling on random items in your inventory hoping to get "something good" is really just a waste of crowns. First figure out what you need/want (ask experienced players / forums for advice, then figure out the cheapest way to get it (try to buy it from other players), then if you can't find someone selling, consider rolling at punch and optimize your rolling strategy.
@Blazeringtech What GH hopes to avoid by not refunding this man is tons of future refund requests because they set a terrible precedent.
@Ling-Su The Wiki is a community driven platform, nothing is stopping Eldstripador or yourself or anyone for that matter to add or correct information on there. The players who wrote those articles also had to figure things out through trial and error.
I am not a millionaire player and it is a big loss for me please I just want my 400k back
