Hi people, can someones explain me, why i'm cursing myself?

Oks, I craft for myself a FAUST, it curses me with charged attacs, ok, I buy an armor with curse resistance , (1 helm with curse defense MEDIUM + armor with curse defense HIGHT) and.... tachan!!!! I never more become cursed, NEVER

Now i craft GRAN FAUST, and with the SAME armor set, I curse myself, 22 seconds... ok, its time to obtain a new set, i think; the gran faust have better curse, i think; and I BUY (1 helm with DEFENSE HIGH)

Now, i have, 2 items with HIGH PROTECCTION TO CURSE, high + high = maxium???

I'M CURSING 22 seconds!! UV maxium dont have noting!!!

Im wasting my time energy and crowns for .. Nothing??? Its a bug here?? What happens??? I have to search for a FAUST again?

Faust is a crappy weapon

Faust is a crappy weapon because it's charge attack is crap.

Either do what most Faust users do and forget the Faust's charge attack even exists, or get a better weapon.

Gran Faust without the charge

Gran Faust without the charge attack is a pretty solid weapon - partially because it curses on normal swings. It is possible to get armor that will protect you from Gran Faust's curse, but it requires both a MAX UV and some solid curse defense on the armor itself. I suspect that if you invest in armor in the divine side of the Valkyrie line (which has some pretty solid curse resist built in) with an anti-curse UV, you'll get your pain-free Fausting back. Is it worth it for you? Well, that depends on how much you care about the charge attack.

You're misunderstanding how

You're misunderstanding how curse resistance works.

If you remove your curse resist armor, you'll see that you lose more weapons and items and it'll last like what, 40 seconds?.

With that high of curse resist, you'll only lose one weapon and one item AND it lasts for a smaller amount of time. I use Faust/Gran Faust's charge attacks liberally (ugh, though not so much with GF's because it takes friggin 5 seconds to charge) and it's never a problem for me - I bring a Khorovod/DA with me, so if Faust gets cursed, I always have the Khorovod for normal damage, and if Khorovod gets cursed, I have the Faust for more shadow damage.

B) deal with it bro.

Nox, armor defenses and

Nox, armor defenses and resists do not add up or cap in the same way that they do with weapon abilities. For example, using two items with max UV shadow is more useful than using one item with max UV shadow. I believe a max defensive UV is half as strong as a 5* item with a full bar of that same defense/resist.
Open your character screen and mouseover the icons on the bottom row. That will show your TOTAL current defenses and resists.

Fire Resistance

You do not become fire proof with Max Fire resistance. It simply lasts alot less time and does less damage. I own a Vog Cub Coat with Max Fire resistance UV...keeps me from killing myself with fire during VD runs

@Myou

Actually, depending on the level of fire you can become fireproof. With my Volcanic Salamander Mask and Volcanic Demo Suit (Med. Fire Resist UV) I do not get set on fire by the fire trap in the Advance Training Hall. Some advanced tests have been done in this thread by the Wiki editors: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/10522

Thanks Dirt, very thanks YES

Thanks Dirt, very thanks

YES I become curse-proof one time!!! my FAUST cant curse me... but .... I leved it up, and crafted a GRAN FAUST, and curses back again

my question is... HOW MUCH defense i need for become curse-proof of GRAN FAUST??

altually: 2 HIGH UV = 22 seconds, 1 weapon , 1 vial, I think, I have to be near curse proof...

Probably you need to have the curse resist box completely full.

the facts: 1: GRAN FAUST

the facts:

1: GRAN FAUST CURSES A LOT MORE THAN FAUST

2: a maxium (or 2 high) d'ont full my box of curse

3: its seems to the box of the UV and the box of normal resistances included in armors (like serapic helm) dont be the same

You can be inmune to medium

You can be inmune to medium and low shock/curse/fire/poison and so, but not to strong statuses, so faust with the correct UVs makes you inmune fo faust's curse, but since grand faust causes you strong curse, you cannot be inmune, it just reduces the time of curse and how many swords and items gets cursed.

You need two Maximums to max

You need two Maximums to max out a resistance. Two Highs will only add up to one Maximum, and only give you half resistance.

Nox In my opinion, it is

Nox

In my opinion, it is impoosible to become "immune" to Curse using the GRAN faust. Faust is another topic, since it is weaker.

UNLESS you have MAX curse resist and the Divine side of the valkrie line, then you MIGHT be somewhat "immune"

2 Highs are not gonna cut it

PS. Dont complain when we are trying to help you

Easy Solution

There is an easy way to not get cursed... Don't use the charged attack, it really does not help you that much, and big deal if you do get cursed, just use a non-cursed item, or just run around for 40 seconds, no biggie.

The sword is good without the charged attack.
