I thought we were under the impression that instead of back to back 30 minute sales on Cyber Monday we were going to have daily sales through out December and beyond? The depot has shriveled up so much since the boxes started getting release back in May which is understandable but now after all the talk of feedback that was talked up here: https://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/124774 that a lot of us have very serious doubts about as also addressed here: https://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/124775 we're left with nothing 2 days after Cyber Monday?

Can we please have some better communication and transparency on Cyber Monday and the rest of December, instead of laying silent on this and hiding behind the next promo drop in a day or two. The old cracks in the system are glaring again, lets seal the cracks and not regress again.

In terms of feedback we provided quite a bit of publicly available feedback to bring back the old system and I can certainly get more if 40 isn't enough https://chng.it/kH82CdJrT9

Many people are disappointed at the state depot is now left in right now, next year are we going to delete depot entirely? I don't understand why we keep these reoccurring disappointments repeating, that is the one thing that has been consistent.

I'm so thankful at how many people came together this year to make Cyber Monday special on the community side all the events and streams because otherwise we'd have a broken, empty egg.

But some items were really long in there this time.

That was a good start, but yeah, it would be nice to always have at least one daily random cool cosmetic in depot or at least a few days more after Cyber Monday or similar events. GH could probably make more money by offering more, different things throughout the year, because different things are interesting for different ppl. There could be an automated way to do this for GH, like pick random item from DB -> check last sold AH price -> convert with current E price -> add sale discount 10% -> put in depot for 1 day.

Miscommunications

I think it ultimately comes down to miscommunications. We had lots of hype leading up after the wishlists being sent to GH, as well as the crazy start with tails tails etc.

People were expecting it to be similar to last year, starting Nov 27th and ending ON cyber monday. When nothing got posted on the 27th, we assumed that it would all be pushed to cyber monday itself.

In the end, we had 44 total items listed on SD, with about 14 of them being exact repeats of last year. We had 82 featured auction items, which was pretty cool, but like most years, those items are out of reach for most of the player base, as they get bid up super high by whales/merchers.

GH has said themselves that they didnt want to SD many items to "preserve the rarity", however depoting tails tails for 3500, when they typically would go for 2.5milcr/60ke. This item alone shows they dont care about crashing the price of an item.

All in all, Im thankful that it even happened, however going forward I would like GH to be a bit more transparent on the schedule of sales. I know plenty of people who would have been stoked to see a skeggox or something similar on depot, even if they put it up there for market price.

Just my 2 cents.

Contradictions

The comment GH left about wanting to "give more people an opportunity to participate" rubbed me the wrong way given the ratio of featured auction listings compared to depot listings. What's the point of a Cyber Monday if only the top 1% of whales can make use out of most of it, anyway?

I'm a player who skipped out on last year's Cyber Monday, but from what I've been hearing around the community, we shouldn't be getting complacent and expecting the same as before; we should be striving for better. I'm pretty sure even so much as having rotating depot listings on a 12 or 24 hour timeframe throughout the course of December would've been a far better solution in the long run rather than leaving approximately half of the playerbase in disappointment after another one-and-done situation, along with most likely earning them more money overall.

Also yeah, "preserving rarity" and then the Tails Tails incident. What?? Just rerun Confection and Spritely boxes at this point.

I just don't get their mindset.
