Hi, currently i have a an ash tail full with both UV fire MAX. If i craft it to vog set, Does the UV Max fire still counted inside? The fire resists bar will become full. Or does it overkill the UV fire max?

Please advise me... have not tested it out yet. Thanks

Any bonus from a Unique Variant is additive to the existing equipment properties, so you should be able to see a difference between a regular vog and one with the max fire resist uv, though I don't believe it would make you completely immune to fire.

There's a difference!

Sitting on the fire grate in ATH with full Vog set: set on fire, take fire damage.

Sitting on the fire grate in ATH with full Vog set +1 Max Fire UV: take half a bar of damage, no fire.

Slight overkill. Can't remember the numbers exactly but I asked a similar question a few months ago about my max UV fire ashtail as well (now a vog). The consensus I got was that you get 35 points naturally each from the two pieces of vog towards fire resist (70 total). I run with a max fire vog coat and a crown of the fallen (also fire resist). The max UV fire gives you 25 points (this is the quote I was given. I assume they went low=5 points resist, med=10, etc. and armor can't get ultra so max= 25 rather than 30), so my set gets me to 95 points of fire resist. If you upgraded both max fires to vog you would get 35+35+25+25 = 120 points of fire resist. My set makes fire last 3 seconds in FSC for maybe 2 bars of damage, but my set also shows that my fire resist is maxed out according to the bars (innaccurate perhaps - see numerous discussions especially with CIV vs. Levi damage). Perhaps you would be immune to fire, but noone had an answer for that question. Regardless, I run through fire with virtual impunity.

My advice would be to upgrade one of them to skolver unless you feel you need the elemental defense more than piercing (is this your only set or do you adjust multiple sets to stratums?) If you are running FSC exclusively with it then go vog both for the elemental and let the rest of us know if you are fully fire retardent. If this is your only set, i'd broaden your protection. My two-cents.

A little over one full meter; Two pieces of five star armory and a medium resistance UV (as much as a 3-star armor would offer) would reach the cap.
Note that generally the normal cap is only one full meter. On the case of fire, going past the meter with a medium UV would only grant immunity to Vanaduke's fire snakes, but nothing else.
Also to note: The maximum resist only grants immunity to certain 'weaker' status effect attacks. Certain mobs will be unable to inflict the status effect with normal attacks, (Zombies, Greavers, Gun Puppies, Lumbers, etc) however some stronger mobs or special attacks will still be able to. (Zombie's breath, Retrode, Devilites, Vanaduke's mace, elemental grates, etc)

Although I think UVs are slightly broken on fire's case; From a recent topic on the wiki editors section, even just a med and a single piece of Vog, without any other fire resisting equipment, would already give immunity to Vanaduke's fire snakes.

On either case, you might prefer to make it into Skolver instead, so the maximum doesn't get "wasted". But if you plan to fight Vanaduke in the future, using it on Vog Cub would be quite helpful. Although since you have both pieces with maximum, making them both into Vog Cub woulda be a waste, so I'd recommend either full Skolver or one Vog Cub, one Skolver.

It would be useless to craft them both into vog cub and wear them since just a single piece of vog cub with max fire UV would (more than) make you immune to fire.

What you could do is craft the armor into vog, then get a mad bomber helmet, and still be immune to fire, while having asi, bomb ctr and damage medium. Then get a barb shield and have sword attack medium. Then fill out with ctr med bombs and asi VH swords

Then you would have asi max swords, ctr max bombs, and medium damage bonus to both. While still being totally immune to fire.

Then wait for the unbinding thing and sell the helmet.

You would be way over the resist cap. As far as has been tested a low fire UV will cap your fire resist with 2 5 star fire resist pieces. Anything over that would just be wasted. Even a low fire resist UV isn't a good idea with 2 pieces of fire resist gear since you're already so close to the cap that it makes a minimal difference.

Unless you make them into Skolvars or wear only 1 piece Vogs/anything else it would be a waste.

I'm sure of one thing though, I know someone with Max Fire Vog Set (Helmet and Coat) and still manages to get burned by Fang of Vog for like half a second and gets burned once.

Having max fire uv on a vog would be incredibly redundant, since a low on one piece already gives max fire resist.
As would be having 2 max uvs, one is enough for max fire resistance.

Ignore the bars, they mean nothing.

I would make them into Skolver so the uvs are not wasted, then sell 1 piece in the future when unbinding comes.
