Roarmulus Twins, How hard was it for you?

For me, seems harder then Vanaduke. Takes strategy, paitence, and a party that doesn't hit the buttons when you are. I'm probably not going back there because...

.Less heat then jelly levels
.Harder then jelly levels
.Longer than jelly levels

ok. Maybe they were not HARDER then Vanaduke being it was the first time, but I was expecting LOTS of Gremlins. For the boss, I knew it was gonna be a Giant Lumber or Gun puppy but wow. Wow wow wow. I like jelly better.

Lots of crowns though. More so than the jelly.
I also like gremlin facotry more because of the challenge. And I agree that jelly levels are easier. But until someone figures out if the new weapons are worth it and upgrading, then I say we should withold judgement if this is a worth while dungeon or not.

Hey guys, we have these totally awesome servers, let's do some more bullet hell like we did in the mask phase with Vana! Everybody loves these!

The boss itself, easy easy easy, BUT it took an INCREDIBLE amount of patience and a good teammate to get rid of bots. The levels take some getting used to, but once you do, they become pretty standard. I like it, though I wish the boss wasn't so tedious >.<.

I've only played it once and found it kind of annoying as the stupid gun puppies would never align properly for the missiles to hit. Is there a pattern on how the gun puppies move in phase 2 and 3 or is it random?

Gotta say it was a doozy,

Gotta say it was a doozy, rest of my party left after awhile and I soloed the rest, well till the boss fight...went downhill from there, the games never kind to a lone gunner =P

Overall I gotta say Ive fought Vanaduke in the past and I'm feeling that for a Tier 2 boss stratum, this is simply to overkill. In all it seemed like an intentional heat waster, on top of that its a bullet hell, and compounded with lag is not a good thing at all.

Also I noticed the heavy missiles do damage through shield block...which just isn't cool. Yes the new boss stratum is solo-able, but even if your the most vet and experienced of players, your gonna die there at least once...or several times, Ill be honest it happened to me..much to my shock, dont act hardcore and say you wont, cause lieing gets you no where =P

Now Ive got some fancy new guns to try and earn.

But yeah all in all, its crazy, somewhat fun, very challenging. But some nerfing will need to be done to make it viable and an actual acceptable Tier 2 stratum, cause ATM that place is very Tier 3.

I rocked their stupid faces

I rocked their stupid faces off the first time I went down, and the second, but I freely admit I was (a) Wearing 4* gear, and (b) was with my Stairs Club guild homies, and were were using Mumble to coordinate. Trying to persuade your average moronic PUG player to do anything team-orientated is a [frigging] nightmare, and you NEED to work as a unit in this level.

Having said that, everyone in Tier 2 has 2* gear (unless they were invited down and have only themselves to blame), and everyone on Tier 2 and taking on a boss level SHOULD have a set of at least 3* gear they're pretty comfortable with. The playerbase will learn to coordinate in time, once the ins and outs of the level become common knowledge. The problem with Spiral Knights is that the minimum level of skill required to at least limp along is very low. I have no problem with PUG players being forced to work as something approaching a team in order to survive. Hopefully it'll mean less clueless dumbasses making it down to Tier 3, eh?

I loved it so. My favourite boss level so far.

The lag was so bad for me. I don't know how I feel about this particular boss yet. I think I'll enjoy it more when I start running it more. I just found it very confusing and overwhelming with all the gates and missiles flying everywhere.

Overall though I feel it's a really good update and I can't wait to see what they do now to make it better and a bit more computer friendly.

After some practice, the

After some practice, the trick with the boss is to just let a bunch of missiles past the closest barrier on either side and hope the boss runs into them on the opposite side. Trying to aim at them is an effort in futility due to their random movement. As long there's always at least one wave of missiles crossing sides, there's a very high chance the boss will run into them and he'll go down quickly.

The zone really has no longevity in its current state. It's more difficult and gives less than half of the money of JK palace. About the only benefit is that it takes a little less time. Once people get the token rewards they want, it's unlikely they'll ever go back.

There's no way you can seriously say that it's harder than FSC/Vanaduke.

I can only see the Surgebots

I can only see the Surgebots being an issue if you are solo. Even with a party of two (one player on switches, another on bot defense) it still seems extremely easy. They don't even respawn that fast.

Not sure why people would

Not sure why people would have trouble with this guy. After completing the run 3 times (once solo, once in a party of two, once in a party of 4), I'd say this is significantly easier than even the JK. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10:
Snarb - 1
Roarmulus - 3
Jelly King - 4
Vanaduke - 9

Sure the levels leading up to JK are a bit easier, but Roarmulus himself takes more than 1 or two healing pills you're doing something very very wrong.

On the Twins...and others

The first time I fought him it was in a party of four with guildmates. One person to hit the switches and it went smoothly. Only one of our party died...once near the end.
Second time I fought him in a duo with a guildmate. Went even easier.
Third time I went solo. Easiest fight by far. My main weapon was a Blizzbrand. I'd also accidentally left my Mighty Defender equipped which I'd been heating prior to the terminal. I think I used one pill.

I'm guessing the twins are pretty frustrating in a pug and/or if you're lagging. In the three times I fought him I didn't lag at all.

My boss ranking goes like this from easiest to hardest:
Snarbolax
Roarmulus Twins
Royal Jelly - it's the mini-jellies that make this fight harder for me than the twins...though it's still fairly easy with the right equipment/vials.
Vanaduke - still fairly hard for me...probably haven't done it enough times yet

The thing I like about the new stages/boss is that while it can be easy, if you or your teammates are playing carelessly it will still punish you. The thing that sucks about them is that if you're lagging...it will still punish you :(

I don't find him to be that difficult but I usually run switches and let others deal with everything else. I haven't pug'd or ran with dimwitted people yet so I'm assuming it can get quite annoying if everyone doesn't cooperate.

The levels leading up to him

The levels leading up to him have some irritating, borderline cheap, challenges built in to them. They aren't terrible however and are completely doable.

The boss itself I just tried for the very first time not more than a few minutes ago and soloed them with a learning curve of about a minute or two. Did take me a bit longer to figure out what was usable on them and what wasn't, but after that it's just a matter of timing. Little bots weren't ever a real issue. The thing that got me the most was just not paying enough attention and occasionally being hit with sparks.

Very fun, and I'm glad they're able to be soloed. Means I can try out the new guns that much easier and still have my Diablo/Zelda time. :D

Here's my difficulty "review"

Here's my difficulty "review" after soloing the stratum, from what I've seen the normal levels is ten times easier solo than in a party, only thing is that having one party member to kill off the scuttlebots in the boss fight helps a lot but it's not worth having to revive in the levels before (party of any) versus taking almost no damage not counting the last room of depth 15 (solo).

The scuttlebots are incredibly annoying during the boss fight, especially when you are trying to hit one of the heads and four scuttlebots come up from behind and shock you. The actual boss is a joke though and never hits you unless there's a lagspike.

Also, I'm not even going to attempt the last room of Warfare Workbench without my Shivermist, trying to patrol switches with respawning retrodes and mechas after you is way harder than the boss fight. Not to mention the rockets exploding on each side sometimes manages to hit you through the wall and do a ton of damage. That room is just really ridiculous, especially since the rest of the dungeon is only slightly harder than Jelly Palace, that room felt more like it belongs in a Tier 3 boss stratum.

I'm pretty disappointed since I was hoping for an alternate to grinding Jelly. But the earnings are a complete joke and there's no reason to pick it over Jelly after you've got all the boss token gear.

The boss and the levels

The boss and the levels before are super easy, even easier than a JK run imo. There are almost no monsters to fight, all you have to do is dodge super slow rockets all the time. Me and my friend had maybe one death, mainly due to being lulled to sleep ~_~ will not go there again as it's very poor heat/crowns

Just tried...

Have to say, after I've heard so many people complain about how hard this is, I actually found it easier than royal jelly. First attempt solo with no revives. (Even now I usually need one revive on jelly.) I did use three hp capsules on the boss and I do have 5 star equip, but that's the same equip I'd do jelly runs in and I have a lot more practice on jelly runs (and even a lot less lag on them) but this was still much easier.

I will say that this isn't something I'd like to try in a party and seems much more suited to a solo player, which in itself would be fine... but these aren't levels I'd get much enjoyment out of the way I do from jelly runs. The rockets get old fast, and as fun as it was to think about how to deal with certain puzzles the first time through, now that I know what to do I can't find much motivation to jump back in and do it again. There's less crowns/heat because most of the levels are dodging traps rather than killing substantial amounts of enemies and waiting to time running between rockets leaves me a little impatient feeling.

Also the lag factor... FSC is worse than this for me, so bad in fact that even to today I have never made a serious attempt at it and always leave after the first level. So much on screen at once... everything so busy all the time... the lag just piles on. I like this game when it's simple and playable and I'm being overwhelmed and need to struggle to not get trapped in a corner; it's all immediate and all the things on the screen are relevant. I don't like it when there's lots of sparks and explosions all round and lots of back ground lagging me out when very little of it feels relevant. All the effects make FSC unplayable to me... The new levels are not as bad, but do come close.

So over all, I'd say not hard at all, and though it was nice to play through once, I probably will be avoiding gates with it in the future, much in the way I avoid his Snarblyness. Heavily scripted fights where you can't just get in and "fight" the thing annoy me. So do laggy levels with very predictable routines and minimal reward.

The boss itself became so

The boss itself became so easy after a couple minutes. I got down to 3 bars at the very start (1min in; I know I fail...) and stayed at that until I beat them. Very, very fun and intriguing fight.

Getting to the twins however... W. T. F... Lag, buggy rockets, and too much crap in a small space = hardest thing I've done so far. I can access T3 but don't have 5* equipment yet so I'm sure there will be harder moments but for my gear, oh man...

I will go back to this boss, though, for more tokens to get the gear. I plan on getting the gun that gets stronger when shot further away (Supernova/Polaris) and make Glacius. Freeze, nuke from far away.

Don't know how anyone could possibly rank this harder than Vanaduke. It's a total snooze fest. Beat it first try with a party of 3 without even breaking a sweat. Thumbs up for the effort they put forth towards the design of the facility but the new boss was a big let down honestly.

Total waste of energy as well compared to Jelly runs. I didn't make nearly enough crowns in the two levels prior to the boss to ever justify going back again. Not even slightly interested in the items the tokens get you so it's a win/win for me.

i dont see how people can say its easier than jelly palace...
in jelly palace all you need to do is step on a button, then hit everything until it dies. rinse and repeat for each room and your done. This level for me was a step in the right diection because you actually had to actually do something other than hack away mindlessly at everything. If you found it very easy i suspect its because the level is designed so uncoordinated parties of people in 3* gear can struggle their way through and not get killed every few minutes.

If you have video lag or connection latency then the problem is on your end. Don't think I've ever had less than 4 bars or any persistent latency.

If you're careful they are easier than the JK. Roarmulus is all about execution and strategy where as JK is about having the right set up and just face rolling thru the fight as hard as you can. If you lack timing and finesse (or have idiots in the group) then Roarmulus will be brutal.

Easy level but lagg can be a problem...

The levels are extremely easy. There are no enemies so all you have to do is just dodge the rockets. The only problem is lagg but it wouldn't be a problem if I had Elemental defense. The Roarmulus Twins are laughable if I can own them with a PUG in 2* gear who basically did nothing but bait Scuttlebots. All I had to do was flick the switch and let them kill each other. Though the Heat dropped is terrible but the Crown drops are decent compared to the Jelly King in my opinion(about 4k-5k). The rockets should be temporarily stunnable and give some Crowns or Heat once you stun them(you can only get the drops once).

Vana easier in my terms

FSC is easier since the path itself is easy to remember and same with IMF but even with lag, I can survive in FSC, not soo much in IMF but the boss is hard that I can say for sure. Unless you understand the whole path and understand it yourself, then you have a chance but know this, with even the tiniest lag with the rockets, you will die.

Prisega
Actionmyth, you have to use

Actionmyth, you have to use your shield. I did quite well on my first run through the Factory and now the experience only makes me better, I had already sucessfully solo'd the levels on my 2nd try. The lag isn't bad once you get used to it, that first try was terrible with lag but I adjusted easily, if it weren't for the shock and the Retrodes, whose attacks I hate, I'd probably take less damage since I only go two strikes then shield instead of the full 3 hit combo. The boss is definitely the easiest part of the whole thing, all you need to do is drive rockets into one then slash the crap out of it. If you need help I'm sure people will give assitance, there's already a buddy thread here too. If you need videos or anything I could make those too, this goes for anyone having trouble since you're probably sick of me saying these levels are easy...

Boss easier solo

Lag was the biggest issue during the clockworks leading up to the boss. Once I got to the boss we had trouble with people wanting to hit the switches when they weren't supposed to. Eventually people fighting over wanting to do the switches caused us to wipe. I waited until they left, revived and solo'd the boss pretty easily. It's easier with one person from what I can tell.

Pretty sure the levels were

Pretty sure the levels were harder than the boss itself. I could probably switch to 2* gear and beat it down if they let me switch in between levels.

I solod this once. Died a few

I solod this once. Died a few times. Would expect after doing it again a few times could prob do this with one or no deaths.

the 2 levels leading up to the boss were interesting. The boss fight itself I thought was rather dull though.

I do not think I would run this much though. The real problem is theres very little reward for running this. Trap/dodging based levels while interesting few times, give really bad rewards for the risk taken. While I might be interested in a few of the token rewards, I really find the risk and cost involved while getting very little sapping my desire to even bother for more than 1 of them. That and the fact, that while different, the boss fight i just couldnt get into, and definitely would be hard pressed to get the motivation to do more than a couple of times.

That said - Kudos to OOO for making these levels which provide a different challenge to players. Just need to consider more the fact that lag is a serious problem in these levels (especially the skock corridor of death), and the rewards are totally sub par (in terms of heat and crowns).
