I wouldn't mind some hoverboards....
Spiral Knights officially announced!
Would love to see some Sega inspired easter eggs throughout the game.
"Would love to see some Sega inspired easter eggs throughout the game."
Billy Hatcher hahhaa
I would love to run around in a ball costume...
I doubt there'd be sudden Sega easter eggs, even with as funny as that would be. It's not like they dropped any and in the Yakuza or Total War series. I really wish they'd stop trying to re-boot Sonic, 3D graphics weren't kind to him.
I dont think Sonic and Sega will be taking over Three Rings most likely went in contract with them....and most likely Sega is going to give Three Rings some support with servers, some designers etc. Regardless I could be wrong Sonic and friends could be joining us in Three Rings..............=0
Just watch guys, there will be something for Sonics anniversary! I AM TELLING YOU!!!
If there anything to do with Sonic I honestly dont mind like a Sonic costume or something like that, but I dont think it will happen because I am sure Sega does not attempt to put Sonic in every little venture.
"Just watch guys, there will be something for Sonics anniversary! I AM TELLING YOU!!!"
Reminiscent of Phantasy Star Online, hey it could happen.
So... Does this mean the embargo is gone, now?
Can I finally do some streams and whatnot?
No, as Cory stated in the first page, the NDA is still active. They will announce when it is brought down. Otherwise, it is still currently against the rules to post any content from this game elsewhere.
So, can someone explain a little what this partnership is about? Seeing as this is a free online game, I don't really get what a Publisher would do with it.
Does 3 rings get some funding and SEGA some profits or something like that?
i had to coment...seing the SEGA logo almost made me go nuts here... i haven't played for a while, because of net issues, but i always enter at least one time a week to see what's new...
Nice homepage rework, and good work until now! ^^
PS: i can't wait to test the new gate creating system, and, if everything goes right with my ent, i will be able to do so before the official release! ^^
Sega is probably just going to help with post-production and finalising the first public release.
They're seven people working on two separate projects at the same time, using SEGA's expertise with real-time combat MMOs and their market research and such will help the game come out faster and release content more frequently. As well as broaden the game's audience and reach.
+1 Shoebox
At Pupu - Not sure of how their contract/agreement was made I am sure one of the higher people in 3 rings could tell us, but most likely wont just due to the fact most companies rather keep that info on the DL.
In the past, Cleaver has given a lot of presentations on "lessons learned" from other games (like B!H and Whirled)... one of those lessons is that small companies are not always good at marketing, especially going it alone. Almost all the comments I've seen him post have mentioned some variation on the "customer acquisition funnel" idea, and after the two above mentioned games, I know that's got to be a more pressing concern.
Based on those statements, it wouldn't surprise me at all to hear that OOO is shifting to seek strategic partners, where Sega would be filling the role of a game publisher/distributor/whatever.
Also, I'll hope to see more about the NDA being relaxed soon, given that Sega did put out a press release with gameplay video trailers. For now I suppose they're just trying to hold off on the floodgates of "pre-release game reviews" while they do some final polishing behind the scenes.
never though I would see the day where it was launched.
played almost every beta for this game thats been out.
played two of the beta's.
was kinda happy with the small crowd. also sad my character is getting wiped.
gonna have to sit around and make sure I get my account remade right when its released.
also one question will energy prices still be the same?
Found this searching for Spiral Knights related stuff.
"will energy prices still be the same?"
If you want to buy energy with cash cheaply, do it now. You can spend it in the beta (free experimentation!) and then get it all back with a 25% bonus on the fourth. We have no idea when the next promotional offer will be, nor do we know if any possible future bonus offers will be as high as 25%.
OOO does occasional promotional offers with Puzzle Pirates, though those tend to be extra item lotteries. (They have been known to do occasional +n% doubloon promotions, just not on a predictable schedule.)
One of the resident SEGA fellows here. We're all really stoked about Spiral Knights; the game is fantastic and it's making many of us - especially those who worked with Phantasy Star Online/Universe in the past - really happy.
Can't wait for the big release! In the meantime, my friends and I have been looking for a good MMO to fill the gap without requiring too much time. Looks like this is it. :)
The team that made my favorite MMO is partnering up with the team that made my second favorite.
Mind. blown.
Man I can't believe this!
SEGA just announced a Spiral Knights spin-off game already!
Sonic Team works fast, man.
i think iv'e now been rickrolled in some form, more on these forums than i have on any other site....more than youtube in fact. thanks carlsagan, thanks shoebox....
@Fallout - I'm never gonna give you up. O:)
I hope this game's around for ages... If Sega is publishing, are we to expect cameos or crossovers in-game? (I wouldn't mind a NiGHTS armor set for example...)
