My question is why alot of peoples use Gran Faust. I mean it has slow combo attack ( the noncharge) and the charge may curse you >.< .So what is the point of using that weapon . Soon im gona get Sealed sword and im thinking for what to go , Gran faust or Devine avenger . So can ya guys explain me for what Gran Faust is usefull for ?
Gran Faust , Why ?!?
Before posting, please... PLEASE don't just type as fast as you can and post, re-read what you posted because it irks me ever so.
(Devine/Divine, im/I'm, gona/going, etc)
However, to answer your question, there's multiple reasons.
1. The regular attacks are exactly identical between Sealed Sword, Divine Avenger, and Gran Faust. The only difference is damage, and damage type.
2. Faust and Gran Faust are the only weapons that inflict curse in the game. Period. They inflict it with every attack, regular or charge, at a decent rate.
3. There's also the matter of the fact that it inflicts Shadow Damage, which is the least common damage type you can inflict. The only ways of doing so are Faust, Nightblade, Blackhawk, Shadowtech Alchemer, Toxic Catalyzer, Graviton Bomb, and their upgraded forms.
Of those, Blackhawk deals split pierce/shadow making it less desirable, for one.
Secondly, Nightblade and Faust are the only two swords that inflict shadow damage.
There's more, but if you even merely took from the above that it's one of the two swords in the entire game that inflict shadow damage, as well as being the only weapon to inflict curse... It should be obvious.
1- Gran Faust's abbreviation is GF, which reminds me of my girlfriend.
2- Gran Faust looks awesome.
3- Everybody in a party wants to have one, just because it looks awesome.
4- It deals shadow damage.
5- It has a good chance of causing strong curse to your enemies on the normal attack.
6- Deals in 2 strikes the damage a Leviathan Blade deals in 3 (approx.).
7- Good against gremlins.
8- Good against jellies.
9- It looks friggin' awesome.
10- Charge attack deals a lot of damage to whatever gets hit AND has the curse bonus.
11- Have anti-curse trinkets and you'll never have to worry about being cursed by GF.
If you wanna do the zombies on Firestorm Citadel though, I would go with the Divine Avenger.
@Miojoxhl2
Afaik, resist trinkets don't work at all.
Though, curse really doesn't matter much.
Even with 0 curse resistance, you get 3 items cursed and 2 weapons. so, you've still got one item you can use, and two random weapons. 50% chance that you can ignore the curse and keep wailing on foes with your gran faust.
I didn't say they WORK.
I said: wear them and you'll never have to worry again.
Trinkets are there for the sole purpose of removing the weight of guilt of not having trinkets equipped. =)
granny is useless, craft 3-4 regular fausts and 1 DA n ur good to go
it isnt really slow and it looks cool and has better damage, faust is ugly, but good for cursing
resist trinkets don't work at all.
They work. Just very little.
Does anyone know if GF attacks faster than the DA?
or even just the Faust vs Avenger.
on the wiki the speed bar is about twice as long.
or is it just them lying to us again?
The bars are inaccurate. We have reason to suspect it is due to the tinkering of the Gremlins; ignore them.
With the Faust series, you really shouldn't be using the charge attack. The second hit of the normal combo has (at least as far as I've read/seen) the same chance of cursing as the charge attack, minus cursing YOU.
1. Gran Faust is the only weapon that can cause curse which in my opinion is very usefuli.
2. Gran Faust is one of the only two Shadow swords.
3. It has a wide reach and big knockback.
4. You don't get cursed unless you use the charge attack and even if you do use the charge attack, you normally won't get cursed a lot.
5. It looks cool.
Goes pretty fast when u wear Vog set like me. My da/GF goes fast enough

Umm. The charge attack is amazing.
95% of the time I'm doing solo T3 arenas, I use my gran faust and spam charges.
When you get to the third room? With the massive swarm of enemies? A single charge will inflict ~600 damage on hit, and ~180 per extended hit.
Generally, each charge attack will curse 3~8 foes in that scenario. After I've used ~3 charges, nearly all foes still alive are cursed. Makes for some easy arenas.
Then again, I use a Divine Veil, so getting cursed isn't as much of an issue for me.
It's funny that you mentioned the Gran Faust. I made one today, to give heat for my Guild. I know that sounds sad.
I think the only sealed sword line out of the two that is wortwhile is the Avenger because of it's effective and reliable charge attack. If you're not a fan of the Gran Faust then don't get it. An acheron is just a good, if not better. It's much faster and has a decent charge attack, not to mention you could get a decent UV on it pretty early on.
What's funny to me, is that if you wanted it purely for heat farming, you should have stuck with regular faust as the charge time is shorter. :P
Status resistance trinkets have been tested and conclusively proven to... do absolutely nothing.
It's Defense trinkets that work but have almost no effect.
The Faust line is also nice against wolvers. Piercing swords are better...but it's still decent.
If you think GF is slow, then you will be pissed at the avenger line.
Faust line are good for JK run. Since the normal 2nd swing doesn't curse you but does curse on your target. So if you planning on doing more JK run, get the faust first so you can solo JK easily with it and get more token to get yourself an avenger as well.
