For example, are any monsters weaker to freeze than others? I'm not talking about elemental, I'm talking about the specific status effects.
Are certain monsters weaker to status effects than others?
If you see a thing that can cause shock sometimes.Do not use inflict shock on it or it will heal. For an example,if I use a freeze vial on a freeze jelly (tier 2,moslty in arenas i guess.) it will heal.Kepp those facts in mind and you won't make any mistakes with vials or swords that cause status.
They don't "heal". It re-freezes them. Those are 2 different things.
No....When I froze a freeze Jelly it just healed for a couple of seconds. But no big deal I can deal with a enemy that only barely healed any health.
Listen kid, There could have been some menders around, The fact that it heals for just a second doesn't mean "Throwing a freeze vial on them heals them". There are many factors that come into play.
Off-topic- I'm really starting to get tired of you posting wrong information and assumptions thinking you are right. Please do some re-search before posting information. Especially in the new players sections since it could mislead new players also if you don't stop and think for a moment I would have no other option than to report you to Three Rings since you openly admitted you were underage.
I research I always research to get better at this game....ok maybe I was wrong.happy?
Ice cubes don't heal if you hit them with a freeze weapon (like a cryotech alchemer) when they are already frozen. They may heal a bit when they refreeze if you previously melted them.
Quicksilvers definitely heal a bit when they are shocked, and oilers heal some when they catch fire, so ice cubes healing when refreezing would make sense.
Either way, you can't inflict a negative status ailment on an enemy that inflicts the same ailment against you. A sick puppy can't be poisoned, a pepperkat won't catch fire, and a quicksilver will hurt you and heal itself if you shock it.
To answer the original poster's question, (if he is still around and interested in knowing)
Yes. Different monsters take different amounts of damage from status effects such as Fire, Freeze & Shock.
For Fire & Freeze, I've personally seen monsters from within the same family take different damage when doing damage testing.
e.g. Lumbers took more fire damage than retrodes & scuttlebots even though they all belong to the "constructs" family...
e.g. Devilites took more damage than greavers when they thaw out from freeze even though they are all "fiends"...
The behaviour have been correlated by user "culture" & other anonymous contributors in their "Damage Collection Spreadsheet"
You can follow the link above to get the exact numbers.
For Shock Status, the consensus so far is that monsters within the same family take the same amount of damage.
However, I believe I have seen a silkwing take more damage than a jelly.
(Fiends & Slimes are both supposed to be neutral to elemental damage)
My numbers also don't correlate very well with what is in the spreadsheet so it could be a data entry error on my part.
The keyword here being "so far" since I do not believe we have enough data to say anything with 100% confidence regarding shock.
In addition, Icee is correct is saying that monsters that can inflict status are immune to the same status,
and I'm siding with "gerryw173" on his "ice cubes healing" thingy since I've observed oilers getting healed when catching fire.
Note: The "wiki" also mentioned that they will heal when re-frozen.
Nope, Status effects and weaknesses are 2 different things.
