wheres sherlock holmes when u need him....
10 things you didn't know about Spiral Knights
here it is, the answer to all questions:
obviously its something.
maybe something related to zelda?
game is based on zelda or looks like zelda (the animation when you pick the pots or keys is really like zelda)
my first tought about the spiral knights is that it looks zelda style
CHECK THIS!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k20S5LgHsA&feature=related
how did u do that??? I want to know the answer to that more than #10
The dude who posted the video says it was just a custom skin. Lol.
#306 i just noticed the statues that i see rather often, wher else could the eye be from?

#10 is something that all players see every day, so that means new players, players in the rescue camp, and players in Haven.
maybe something on the character screen?
So how many years until Nick tells us the answer? Is he just trolling?
LordofNecromancers, as already stated in this thread, it's something that players see everyday. Not ALL players; just players in general.
When you craft an item, the glow surrounding said item is identical to the glow surrounding a player when charging an attack.
There are still spiral motifs in the environment. For example, Wolver Dens have spirals on the blocks surrounding the "battlefield" party button, and there are some spiral tiles in Arenas.
Speaking of glows, did you notice that whenever you spend CE, your character shimmers in a sort of squarish pattern? Whether reviving, crafting, going on to elevators, energy gates...
On the loading screen showing the clockworks, there is a guitar near the center (its pretty obvious).
I think its time for another riddle to distract us from the [new thingy I will not mention here]...

I bet its Why is the levels in the Clockworks all Floating.....They Just float in the clockwork. They arent attached to anything They are just Floating over the Clockworks...And How do you use the elevator on those levels with magma under it? Do you go through the Magma?
Don't know if you noticed, but the highest part of the fountain resambles a Four Leaf Clover while the lower part resambles a Three Leaf Clover.
if anyone here knows about snipe herding, it is usually a "after mist runs out' activity, but it could something FAR more sinister...
i looked up what monomi means, and it turns out in japanese it means A SCOUT or TO SCOUT SOMTHING. gremlin spy on heaven, hint hint?
at the far right lower corner of Haven, near the Alchemy machine, there's a spade/shovel!
and the entrance to Haven is blocked, marked off with flares and with a Spiral Warden look-alike... what is the city being protected from? or are those things there to keep the knights from leaving?!?
For #10, have you ever noticed those purple markings on the floor in a few levels that look like sorcery or something? I bet that it has to do with those, and you can interact with it somehow; although nobody has figured out how...
What about the loading screen when you enter Haven or the Basar, on the bottom right side you can see a snipe which is flying like a normal bird, unlike the other snipes which fly like "helicopters" (i dont know how to explain their flying style otherwise)
"Speaking of glows, did you notice that whenever you spend CE, your character shimmers in a sort of squarish pattern? Whether reviving, crafting, going on to elevators, energy gates..."
those squares look a lot like those squares in Unknown Passageway. maybe the black square stuff in unknown passageway are corrupted energies?
@Lordofnecromancers : I was thinking the same thing too, but we didn't know about the swarm until just now. Nick is kind of implying that we should recognize its significance, but don't.....
@Nick: It better be something we can piece together on our own. Your gonna be in for a sternly worded email if it turns out to be something we couldn't have known about without a content release.
This isn't the tenth thing, but I think it's worth mentioning anyway.
The retrodes' laser attack? That's a sneeze.
Noticed yesterday: one level was called Raving Rabids.
herp derp
Well, think about this: How the heck do snipes' wings move like that?!? Imagine what their skeletal structure must be like! Everyone just takes for granted that "yeah, okay, snipes' wings can spin 360 degrees and still be attached to their bodies. Normal birds do that all the time, right?" How?!?
Whose to say they aren't just machines like 99.9% of everything on Cradle?
2 sticks + Duct tape + gear =
"we've designed a new weapon to distract the Knights! its called a Snipe!"
ALSO In many stories a made up/ make-believe bird is usually referred as a Snipe and are vibrant colors.
I might be on to something...
~Xylka
P.S I half non-necroed this thread..... Touhou players get the reference...i hope
Maybe we should search for some references other than Zelda game. Thinking of Snarbolax or King Tinkinizar.
lol no. if the snipes are construct..... I dont know what to believe anymore 0.o
@mistbotone
thats interesting...... "scout." I'll be thinking on that......
@everyone
I honestly think that we've found the secret already. I just think Nick wont tell us when weve found it. :\
Ok guys, this may not exactly relate to number 10 , but it's something really cool I noticed. First of all, we've all seen that Trojans have a pink crystal in their back, but we kind of take it for granted that it's a type of crystal we have never seen before. Secondly, everytime you kill a boss, or even a Trojan, what color is the explosion that follows? PINK! Lastly, in any dark city levels, those weird runes on the floor near crystals look pretty sure, but what color are they two? PINK! There has to be something going on here... Do you guys thing I'm onto something or not? Please comment.
EDIT so I found a few other things that are pink in the game. T3 gremlin shields are pink, and so is everything that has an impenetrable force field (except mecha knights of course, those shields can be broken). Also, what is the color of gran Faust aka coolest weapon in game? You guessed it.
pink...
i dunno; maybe it stands for evil? like, pink is an evil color?
lolz.
just sayin i saw some things that could be #10.
At moorcraft, there is a ghostly railroad track on the very west side. There is also a railroad track leading to rubble in the arcade and guild hall. Plus, on some levels, there is a blue flashing star down below the surface...
Have you ever noticed that you haven't added Jambay as a friend yet too... i don't get that either
(I ain't no try-hard... lol)
I mean, we see them everyday & everytime you shield, a forcefield of some kind appears. Do our Shields have tiny Generators inside them?
Maybe it's an intellect in snipes heads??? I think they have it because they working in AH.
For enlarging an syndrome of searching for deep sense. It was a snipes who creates the heaven. Because only they lives in buildings. and buildings haven't doors, only a windows, maybe those windows are doors??? So this is the answer, snipes have intellect and they a creators of heaven.
P.S. sorry for a bad English I'm still learning this language.
So we can say that there are five (or six) intelligent races on Cradle
!. Gremlins
2. Merchants (not sure which race they are)
3. Sprites
4. Snipes
5. Devilites
6. Spiral knights
And I will not be surprised if there are more of them.
About glows on the floor..... its simple, this is a signs of dark rituals. If you will talk with a spookat in the moorcroft, there are in dialog will be a notice about some dark ritual. And a descriptions of some levels (Dark city for example) reads about dark rituals with unknown assignment. You say that in shadow lairs are same signs??? So i starting understand why the shadow falls over Cradle...
2 = "Strangers"
Incidentally, all the stranger's faces are masks, and they speak a language that sounds like a combination of a tape deck played in reverse mixed with a projector. (If you pay close attention, it always sounds like they're loading a cassette before they speak.)
About the only understandable word in their language is "D'nik", which is kind of like "Thank you".
I always thought they say "dann nicht" (German for "well... then not") with weak pronounciation.
Also they sometimes say "thank you"... at least if you listen carefully and have some imagination.
Also I sometimes hear "gagner" (French for "to win").
all the past guessing has been assumptions that have no evidence whatsoever, or somethnig that makes no sense.
KNIGHTS SEE IT EVERY DAY.
at least 2 ppl see it everyday. focus on that and not a snipe conspiracy.
Hm probably not secret #10, but I just noticed some tiny detail which didn't catch my attention since I'm playing.
http://i39.tinypic.com/2d26eww.png
See the contents in this open box near Brinks?
Now take a close look on the info spot on the right.
Actually I found that tiny gag pretty funny :)
Think about it, at least ONE person sees it everyday.
Also, have you noticed that at the area overlooking the core (Where the view changes to directly above), there is an elevator. The kind of elevator that you ARRIVE on.
Now think, why would you go directly to the core if there isnt anything to do there?
is it mittens? cause i love mittens
11. The Weapons in the "Troika" line are almost identical to The Darknut sword (miniboss version) in the "Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess".
12. The "Edge" swords (Hot Edge, Static Edge, Vice versa) somewhat resemble the Razor Sword from "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask".
I know, I'm a huge Zelda nerd.
There's a > marking in the pool of water next to the Armor/Shield merchants.
The edge swords are identical to fire and shock mechas swords, adding on to Lord's post.
Also, about what strangers say, I notice things like Can-dee (candy), Sunny-D (lol?), An-teek (antique). Anyone treid playing them backwards? I wanna know...
Also (lots of alsos...) strangers' voices sound very mechanical, meaning they are not true people of the world and some other species made them....
Snipes?
Gremlins?
Vanny?
Boswick's Bush was always ingame ;)
No clue either, our GMs won't tell us too ;<
