there needs to be a limit to the number of open requests a user can have at once. recently, there has been a small number of people putting in a large "wall" of requests at a peak price, then waiting for other requests to drive up the price. they then remove all their requests and place them at a higher price, over and over again. this is the reason ce prices have been going up, and if nothing is done ce prices will continue to rise.

heres a pic:

does this person really wanna 600 units of 100ce? no, they sure dont. they want ce prices to go up to 6100 at which time they will remove all their requests and place them back up at 6100. so on and so forth.

something needs to be done about this before it gets more out of hand, or we will be looking at 10k+ prices for ce at some point in the near future.

I also think there should be a fee to cancel your ce request(if u cancel within a certain time maybe) to further curb this.

thanks.

also, u may be thinking, well those 600 requests could be from multiple people. yes they could, however i have seen this going on over the last few weeks and i have personally seen chunks of 200+ requests vanish and then pop back up 50/100cr higher over n over

Did you realize that they are probably multiple people wanting it for 6000 (a nice, round number)?

yeah, it may not be all one

yeah, it may not be all one person, but what im saying is still true. ppl are artificially raising it by putting large walls and then removing them and putting up at higher prices.

if nothing is done, maybe i should just do the same thing and dump 6 million crowns into ce market. i bet i could single handedly raise it over 7k.

watch it yourself. someone

watch it yourself. someone puts a wall up(large amount of requests), waits for more offers. removes wall & puts back up. this is why ce has been going up.

like i said ive seen a block of 200 requests vanish and then reappear multiple times. oh but im sure thats just lots of different people all removing their requests at the exact same time and putting it all back at the same time at the same price?

having a limit of 20 or so open requests at a time is a good idea.

CE needs to be undershot like the auction house, I made a fourm for that a while back, please post Dzxi or anyone else who has an opinion.

And for the record, you're completely right dzxi. It's certianaly being artificialy inflated with walls. You having 5mil crowns dosen't affect your credibility. I'm glad you noticed this. Sellers have way to much of an advantage over buyers.

I used to think like

I used to think like this...

Now I play the game at a higher level. I have a greater amount of resources at my disposal and deal in larger numbers.

I run 2 crafter slaves as well as dive fsc multiple times a day (yup, I dive on ce).

About every week I dump all my slave cr onto my main and put it on the market... BAM 30+ orders <_<

It's just some ppl make more cr than others...

It's safe to say that someone can poof up 30 orders, but people are working tha market a tad much when they post them, then take them off, then repost, etc.

That would help, but not solve anything... I also vote 10 post limit. 20 isn't enough.

I have several times placed

I have several times placed orders for 100 lots of 100CE. I do this not create some sort of "wall" but because I want that much CE. Usually I do this when I sell a nice piece of equpment for crowns. Judging by what is on the AH, I suspect that this kind of thing happens several times per day.

The cr<->CE exchange rate is going up because fewer people have need to sell CE for crowns, they have likely used Punch enough to get their nice UVs and they are no longer buying the "battle pack" CE package and have extra CE. When the market is falling, I've seen "walls" of 500 lots of CE smashed through in half an hour, they aren't walls.

Stop seeing silly conspiracies.

whatever u say kid. maybe i

whatever u say kid. maybe i should just do it myself, and dump 6mil cr onto market :) wanna bet how much i can raise it up?

edit: and if u are putting legitimate blocks of 100 in to buy ce, you're dumb. since people are just bidding over you and then u rebid all 100, you're making it cost more for yourself. you would save yourself some money doing 10-20 at a time

Interesting idea, try it and

Edit:(First i suggested to try, now i don't think it is a good idea) better don't try, prices might not come back later.
I also think there should be a 'small' fee (like 1%-2%) for 'canceling' the orders.

I say, do it, bolster the market, the harder CE is for f2player the more OOO is forced into action!

I can't belive such a good

I can't belive such a good topic is all the way on page three.
What a shame.
You can do this in reverse. Say you'll buy CE for a lower price, mabey 6k, post 600 units or something, let it get to 650-700, and withdraw your offers. Then put offers for 5.8k up, fill it, remove. 5.6, fill it, remove. mabey not that quickly, but it would work.
Or three rings could just put in a listing fee to prevent this completely and stabalize the market; http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/22605

I just saw it in action

The prices listed in the markets were:

6450
6418
6417
6416
6411

I posted 6415 in clockwork terminal. Then I headed back to Haven and sold minerals. Then I checked the market again, and all listed entries are above 6460.

Who's THAT desperate to buy CE to have to post it above the only 6450? It's a deliberate attempt to jack up the CE price.

Its an economy, when a new crown sink is added it will fall dramatically. This person is probably trying to make the most of it until lock down is released (Crown sink)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Securities_fraud
"Securities fraud, also known as stock fraud and investment fraud, is a practice that induces investors to make purchase or sale decisions on the basis of false information, frequently resulting in losses, in violation of the securities laws.

Generally speaking, securities fraud consists of deceptive practices in the stock and commodity markets, and occurs when investors are enticed to part with their money based on untrue statements.[1]"

It's not fair-play jacking up CE price this way. :P

yes its being pressed up and

yes its being pressed up and making it harder for people to buy it!

Yes someone is increasing the price of CE and i will also state its getting to the point were people will no longer buy it with crowns as the average user will only make 5K a day doing 10 floors! as it seems to have no change in pace and will keep going up players will start to quit out of never being able to advance!

A cap needs to be put in place on both sides of the sales other wise people will keep abuse the market in some shape or form!
