Ummm... because it's horrible and I have standards?
Keep in mind that I'm an old lady of nearly 30. XD

Admittedly, the series went to hell after the movie, but then there's still this little bit.
Haha, I admit the only reason why I know spongebob as much as I do is because my sister used to watch it all the time back at home. But don't let the rating fool you, it does sneak in some hilarious jokes intended for older audience.
Anyways, I held off on the devilite coloring for now and tried my hands on some minor pixel sketch combining Cave Story and SK. Mind you that I only did the knight, escape pod and title art, while the rest are from the game itself.
wait, old lady?

(first pic that came into my head)
@Robobucks I saw a few episodes back when the series was new, and my prior assessment still stands. XD Not my kind of humor, really.
Cute pixeling, though!
@Fallenhope It's cool. I laughed. ^.^
Sorry about that Tevokkia. i know alot of my friends have had probs opening that, here's it on deviant art: http://fanginabox.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4r2mkj
Wow, it looks like you really put a lot of time and effort into this, particularly including all of the background elements.
I really like how the only colored part is Snarby's red eyes.
Wow, thats great looking, love that the colored eyes make them stand out.
Anyways, I saw a small Ollie R. in the lower right corner.
YOU ARE ME. Seriously. Not kidding.
Haha, yep. just marked it with my name :P
Ollie Rouse xP Thanks. i kinda planned to have more colours, but i only had a red available, and i think it turned out better with just snarly being red.
Is it weird that the promotional picture they just posted makes me wonder if I'm going to have to start drawing gremlins differently?
Mostly because I tend to draw them without their goggles on, and I'm not sure if the swirly eyes are natural, an effect, or part of the mask.
I believe the eye thing is part of the mask. When I saw it on the preview server (looking in the files with the spy haw) I saw him and just assumed it was an effect of the mask, I don't think Ian will reveal their eyes like this (or ever).
I could be wrong tho. I'll just say just stick to your way of drawing their eyes.
I was thinking as much, but there's just that little instant of artist freak-out that I'm prone to when something new is released.
EDIT: Finally figured out how to take a look at it in Spy ... didn't realize I needed a different copy of it in my Preview folder. You're right ... those are definitely part of the mask. No worried, then! ^.^
this thread is awesome!! i'd post some of my stuff but i suck ~
:P awesome stuff everyone
BTW @ Zekeyspaceylizard THOSE ARE FFFF***************AAWWWEEEEEESOMEEEEHEEHJEFVXB
Vogdamnit XD
and yes i always thought bechamel was a guy
"Courting Ms. Bechamel. Didn't finish it in time for Valentine's Day, but I drew it on Valentine's Day, so that counts, right? :D"
I dunno if you Heard(Or Read) but Bechamel's a Guy. There was a Thread Debating about it, but someone found out that one of the Missions said Bechamel was a He in the Description, so it was Decided.
Sooooo...
Yeah.
I think the developers said overall the knights are above the antiquated notion of gender, which seems to give the impression that they can -choose- to be either or, or just because they choose one gender doesn't mean they can't be the other, that is you aren't stuck to one gender.
I for one don't mind this because it totally justifies turning my knight (Brucerainbows) into a hermaphrodite. ;D
*Also it's fanart. I know plenty of times where I've seen genders changed in fanart, like female Tails is one of my favorite, and I prefer her over male Tails. There's no rule saying that fan art must always be canon.
I think he meant gender as the social identity.
Wuvvums, fan art is always canon raaaawwwwr let's fight about it raaaaawwwwwr don't ruin my fanfictions raaaaawwwr etc etc.
Also, WHO SENT ALL THESE BABIES TO FIGHT¿?¿!¿!?!¿?!¿?!¿? (took it with my phone because I was faaaar way from home)
I'm having trouble remembering who that other character is (is he from TF2?) or getting the joke (I don't play many other games), but your little gremlin is adorable.
I think he is the Heavy from TF2, who has a habit of calling others baby!
Axonio that is so funny, did you recently read a forum on the gremlin knockers being children? because this was my exact response XD funny drawing man!
and @ Uni
i really like it :D the eyelashes are cute X)
not to mention i LOOOVE the almirian crusader suit in general! X)
These are meant for Xairathan's contest. Didn't manage to post the second one due to power outage...
Ride forth oh noble steed. Yes, why not?
Bromance? Also made for someone, maybe. I hope you're still wearing ash tail and sunset duster. ^^;
A bromance indeed. Time to switch my clothes back...
The "noble steed" is cute, but the Bromance one is my fave. You draw the best gremlins. <3
@ Iskender
Oh, what do you usually wear right now?
@ Tevokkia
Thank you! :)
Last time I checked, that Mining Helm you get from the missions and a Vitasuit Deluxe. But I'm kinda playing very irregularly at the moment anyway since I heard that the story isn't getting anywhere.
Yay my pic made it to SK facebook page :D
http://kobayen.deviantart.com/art/Fanart-SK-Business-Takeover-288769011 It seems rather topical.
The gleeful look on her face says it all. I love it.
She could have at least posted a pic of what Strangers really are after she tore him to bits...
*Tsk*
First, some idle sketches of Bettit, a scrawny little gremlin who I love playing, followed by Vakros getting an earful of some silly anecdote. Whatever she's saying, it probably either ends in "and it was this big!" or "and I had no idea!" Mostly because I'm not going to make a 5 Dolla Footlong joke ... I'm saving the sheer stupidity for the next paragraph. XD Both of these guys are from the Clockwork Renegades ... I have a full set of other pictures to add from there, but am waiting until all of them have been finished. Vakros is played by Isisdelltion, doncha' know.
And now, for the stupidity: Yo, Mongrels! My husband is entirely to blame for this one. His name is Sol-Ether. Give him grief for it. Really. Do it.
First of all, so much art o.O makes me wonder why I have been ignoring the existance of this thread...
Second, I have some art of my own to share as well.
My actual hand art somewhat lacks (in the form where whatever I can do wtih my hands is what it will be, since I do not own a tablet of any kind (and working with a wireless mouse is tiring...)), however I work a lot with Spiral-Spy, and I have developed a sort of "style" as I work with the models and textures...
Getting down to actual art, I'll start with a series of pictures that shows what happens when I decide to play with a perticular model I find...
Initial Sword Model... ...Cleaned up a bit... ...and After adding some visuals and a fitting armor set... ...and what happened when I made one of the opposite spectrum
In addition to working with models, I'm decent at making some comics, I cannot find the ones I made with pencil sketches (were not that good anyways), but enjoy the few I made using Spiral-Spy.
A responce I made to a comic Happyapathy made in the past. Something I made shortly after obtaining my Heavy Dragon Wings
Individual things are pretty small in terms as to what I have created, an example of me meshing a ton of models I created together...
Warning, contains high level of blur
As a side note: The above model has undergone several versions as I thought up a concept for him. Total amount of times his model has changed: ~7
Focusing on things outside of Spiral-Spy, an example of what I can create varries from colored pencil work to simple black and white gradients.
A couple of examples, just to increase the amount of fan-art for people to see...
A mesh of a concept character outside of Spiral Knights and what I imagine Vog Cub to look like
A somewhat simple coloring of my character in Spiral Knights (before he went to his new look)
I'll be working on some more art to come, and I am looking forward to seeing more artwork done by others as well.
@Tevokkia Ok I just have to say this, how can you make something like that in 2 hours? I am seriously amazed o.o
@Scarred- Nice models, and great job on the colored pencil work, as well! Thank you for the compliment, although I'm curious which piece you are referring to.
@Uuni- I laughed pretty hard at that. Good job!
@Regal- Thank you very much!
i have become adicted to looking at drawings you guys have made.
i can draw (i'm told well, but me i think not really) but no SK things :'(
i might try, but don't expect anything good... DX
..that there is a fan art sticky >.<

@Psychodestroyer u can't draw?
really mate, all u gotta d0 is mess around with a pencil and find ur style.
Personally, i think my drawings are really bad sometimes, but at class i see there ok, and get told there good (but nobody likes...no, just forget that, i'll be telling strangers my life.) And my advice is don't draw SK stuf...there hard in my opinnion (i'm told that bikes are hard, but my mind seems to say it's easy)
You'll learn easily....enough.
:) And please don't say "well, it's easy for you to say" xD
@Hadn
awesome, i wish i could do stuff like that (Unlucky Holiday for Pit Boss mainly) and i open pics first then read so it's to late YOU'VE SPOILED EVERYTHING wawawa...not.
also, i know this has been asked before, but please everybody tell me how you make these things!
Easy for you to-/reads rest of post.
Oh, ok.
No seriously, I've tried drawing. I suck at it.
I've only done 'well enough' twice ever in my life at drawing, my best effort being a copied pic of Metabee, and I just realized last month I screwed up that random hole in his foot.
Anyway, that drawing took me a full WEEK to draw (the lines aren't even straight, and some of the proportions are a bit off), and another FULL WEEK to shade, although my shading looks so square.
And that's for copying an image. Heavens forbid I actually try and CREATE something.
/argument aside
Those are great drawing/comics/STUFF.
Sorry I can't post any actual feedback, my brain is a bit dull at the moment, so my vocab can't cough up the words I need. Just know for now that I think they are really, REALLY great.
i just had a Tarrabble revalation Gremlin Knockers are are . . . . young gremlins its so crule and tarrable. my vog i've killed so meny of them
I particularly like the cutout style you used on Cobalt and Arkus. Are those Illustrator vectors?
@Tearninja - Haha thanks, normally I just roughly (I mean reaaaal roughly) sketch it out on paper then upload it and use it as my guide. At the moment I don't have a tablet so I find it easier to create all the block colour in Illustrator and then bring it into Photoshop to shade.
@Tevokkia - Yeah, I'm a bit of an Illustrator fiend it must be said haha. Your gremlins have so much character, I'm often reopening them to take another glance.
O.O you don't watch spongebob???
HOW COULD YOU?
