Lockdown. Opinions?

Now that it's free to play for all, what do people think?
Me? I think....IT ROCKS. But, that's because I have a ton of equipment. I can see if blowing for people with non 5* gear. I forgot to switch out a set of 3* before I joined, and I was 1-shotted a lot.
Downright horrible. Incredibly unbalanced and unplayable without the right equipment.
I mean, seriously ? It take 2 Swipes with my Triglav to kill someone while way faster weapons need only 1 or 2 more !?
Even worse, my attacks get interrupted every time I get hit, making melee combat impossible.
Even better: Strikers hovering over to you, killing you and 2 Teammates with a single Avenger strike ?
No thanks.

2 modes of play 1) running around chaotically, 2) dead and waiting to revive. won't be playing it again
Okay, so i played again, and once u get the hang of it, it gets better, but it's still kinda unsatsifying somehow.

So, to summarize the last 2 posts, it's Beta PVP all over again - with a new coat of paint.
Pretty cool. Won quite a few matches. Best thing is you can have some strategy, so I can play decently despite my high ping.
The amount of strikers wearing vog is kind of hilarious.

When we first began testing Lockdown we saw everyone sword-spec as a Striker. This changed pretty quickly once everyone learned that diversifying was the key to victory (and not dying in two hits). In time, most players will pick this up as well.

While I love Lockdown, something needs to be done about Bombs, they have such long reach that one can just spam a Shivermist Buster in a checkpoint and never get hit or get an opening on them.

Shoot them.

Hova - Play Guardian and defend. The mist won't affect you.

@Replicant
And if I have no Gun?
@Nick
Alright.
Than find someone with a gun. It's a team game for a reason. You shouldn't expect to go into this type of a game and rofl jizz over every other person.
No questions asked. I love lockdown. BN can go rot, cuz I wil play this forevermore when I can't clockwork. And I will hac/slash/shoot/blow up anyone who disagrees with me. In lockdown XD
ui covers way too much of the screen, can we have a way to at least hide the playernames?
... Lockdown's pretty fun! I need to work more on setting up my equipment, though. Until that happens, I think I'll refrain from playing Lockdown. However, when the time comes when I'm battle-ready, I'll be playing Lockdown, if my Crowns allow me to.

Respawning takes way too long.
You die way too fast.
Weapons are imbalanced as hell.

i didn't try it yet. but it seems pretty interesting. my only weps. are the Jalovec and Khorovod. Im considering going Guardian, since it has an attack speed bonus. I think. or maybe it was stricker.
meh.

I say reduce the cooldown to respawning to about 5 seconds. You die so fast it's just annoying and inconvient.

IMO:
on spawn times - That's how they get you to use CE. It was the same with BN, only LD also calls up a blood thirst that true PvP can do.
on gear - Get better gear, simply put. There's also a function with the loadouts that allow you to see your gear in comparison with other players (I think). The basis of SK is gear. BN spoiled all the non-SK players by negating the need for gear, but now it's back in spades. If your loadout is bad compared to the other players, withdraw. You can do that, you know.
edit: never mine im dumb
Die fast? You guys are playing wrong.
About clock: It's either till clock ends or a team gets 900 points or 500 points depending on the map.

When you all say you all are getting 1 hit and 2 hit with swords,...... defend against that type its simple you get pwned by the type you have least defense against say Gran Faust then use Shadow defense.... DA use Elemental Defense..... Barb Blade use Piercing its quite simple really and once you get the hang of it it is fun.
I destroy everyone with my GF Glacius Combo with Full Skolver and Barb Shield....!
People don't know how to play yet which is why they're saying swords are OP. They probably hack and slash through PvE and wonder why it's impossible to earn more CR than you spend with CE. Anyways IMO, a good gunslinger will just about destroy any other class. Try going against a Striker rocking the Callahan, Senteza, and Hail Driver. Yeah have fun killing him

@chief
1. You'll still get 2-hit
2. Nobody is going to have 3+ sets of 5* armor
3. The other team won't all be using the same sword/gun/bomb, so that doesn't work

those complaining before (when blast network was released) about OOO's not knowing how to make a PVP...
SHAME ON YOU HAHAHAHA!!!!
if they had used the former pvp in beta, i would have been happy already but...
OOO's has given us PVP, and raised the bar up a couple times just by adding classes in lockdown...

instead of rebalancing the damage of equipment they just slapped an objective with beta pvp
its still better than blast network though by a very small margin

LD is definitely what SK needed for pvp wise. If you're dying a lot then you are doing something wrong or your team is. When you are low on life, you can always go back to base and heal up.

@BTYM
1. When it comes to piercing weapons i eat them like its candy 3 bars per piercing sword hit so i assume the same with every types if you stack them
2. I only have 1 set of 5* armor full skolver but i have 4 5* weapons........I understand some people can't do that but do it to the best you can
3. Thats why You generalize if you see the other team with certain weapons in the lobby just match that defense

My only gripe is that I can't get a Tier 1 game in. Tried twice with T1 loadouts, but always ended up in T3 matches. I have no T2 gear, so can't really test that out. =(
Is it separating us by our Tier level clearance or our gear loadout? Are there many T1 games taking place?
I'm a little bummed in not seeing my costume armor.
Also, I only have one set of armor and I tear through people just fine. Too bad it's Demo.

I think everything's too frantic. It's either a nice enjoyable 2v2 skirmish...
or a full out brawl with the people who chose strikers running rings around us, and I can't tell who is who, so it turns into a click fest.

They need to fix the vortex bombs it sucks up both enemies and allies including yourself

I snipe people with faust charge, 1 shooting everyone 'till i curse myself :D. All players need an overall health buff

You'll actually find a lot of 5* players have more then 3 sets of 5* armor because we know how to diversify.
~Gwen

I have to say all this whining is utter hogwash. When you step back and look at the game as a whole it's fairly well balanced i've been playing T2(simply because I have a good diverse set of loadouts in 3*) half the night and racking up 6-8 captures a match. The key is being able to adapt your strategy on the fly. Identify how the other team is playing and react, if there is a guardian spamming bombs shoot them if its a striker with swords bomb the hallways.
It's a pretty fun game mode, especially with friends. I was doing a couple guild matches and they were all pretty fun, even if we got stomped most of the time (although, there was a certain Guild which was rather rude).
Choosing a set of armor is a bit dumb when the only ones that matter are the ones that give you an attack bonus, since you'll die in 2 hits anyways.

@Gwen I meant that not many people will have multiple sets, and probably wont buy different sets just for PvP
Pro Tip: If I have someone shiverlocked, either kill him, or help cap the node. Don't play with your sprint button and run in circles doing neither. -.-
Other than that, it's okay. Had some fun, had some frustrations. Need to upgrade a few of my 4* to 5* but I'm coping well enough.

You guys die a lot then? How? I somehow manage to get away with two deaths in a game...

No custom armor ?
LOCKDOWN SUCKS HARD ! I always dress with style
I'm pretty sure I saw a guy with Gold Rose Regalia, but maybe i was just seeing things. I really love this PVP, it makes it interesting and so easy to play since its objective based. Reminds me of Bloodline Champions but so much easier!
Lockdown was very fun, although I'd wish there was some arena with only a single Control Point for mass fighting. I'd often find myself wandering across the map and capturing random points without ever seeing a single enemy.
The Striker shield dash also seems to be sort of buggy; It often forces my character to slightly walk towards a random direction, usually down. Combined with lag this actually could be a mess trying to dodge traps on Reactor.
Armor doesn't seem to be doing much - Most people only tank one hit more from my weapons depending on their armor if they have a lot of defense, but for most part, it's the same thing for everyone. And usually, people carry multiple weapons of different elements, anyway, so there's not much of a point on getting specific armor to defend against certain elements.
Weapons... It was mostly a DA/GF and Flourish/Barbarous Thorn Blade thing. Leviathan/CIV and Brandishes also proved to be nice, though. In general, it's really the same as PvE. Other weapons might as well be nice, but they can't really stand up to those main ones. Guns... Far, far too weak. Even harder to aim than swords. I didn't find any guns to be doing much at all except for Polaris. And even Polaris was only really useful for knocking the other players around, or dealing with a bomb spammer. Bombs are fine, although they can be really annoying if you do not have a gun or Guardian to back you up. Haze bombs are a bit annoying, considering they halt movement on Guardians, and resist against status effects doesn't seem to be doing much. (unless you get full resist, I suppose)
I found that it was fairly easy with a good team and organization - On GvG with Guild, we went for a win streak of 38 games straight on our main team before getting bored, while a second team had only lost a single match. (no clue how many total they did.) Not many guilds managed to be really challenging, though Knights of Equestria in particular played quite well against us.
The Striker Dash might be a little OP when it comes to capturing points, since you just easily move from one to the next. With a team with several Strikers, capturing points proves to be pretty easy and fast.
Overall, Lockdown was very fun and latency didn't really affect it as much as I imagined it would. But in my opinion, it still seems like it's lacking something to make it really interesting. It didn't really last very long before just getting repetitive and boring - usually PvP on other games would last far longer, at least before it gets repetitive.
Stages really were mostly the same. I didn't find there was any actual difference in them, except for the ones with three Control points and the ones with five. We basically used the same strategies and whatever else in every stage, and against every opponent. It'd be nice if the stages were a bit more unique, at least enough to change the strategies to be used in them. As for teams, I think it'd be nice if guns were worth something and if armor actually did something.
But yeah. Good and fun, but not quite enough. I hope we eventually get some deathmatch PvP modes, and more unique and interesting stages. Maybe something with mobs going crazy everywhere, like Pinwheel did on the end of the final preview event. That was mad fun.
Oh, and of course, actual team matchmaking and being able to challenge other guilds or teams, instead of completely random. Even if that gave no rewards as to avoid abuse, I'd really like setting up against some more experienced guild with both of us being ready for the match, other than just using whatever/whoever you have and hoping for the best.
Horribly laggy. The players are matched seemingly at random, so living in western Canada I frequently found myself playing against Germans. The timezone difference is 9 hours, so that's awfully close to literally being on the other side of the world. To make matters worse, the later it gets the less chance I have of playing people close to me. Right now, as of 11pm PDT its completely unplayable.
Its unbelievably frustrating to attack a player, only to have him magically warp away then kill you from basically Lumber range, or to have a striker boost towards you and kill you before the attack animation even starts. When everything is working correctly its a lot of fun, way better than Coliseum, but that rarely ever happens.
And as far as balance goes.. not liking all of the 1 hit kills with the Gran Faust, and the bombs are completely broken. A bomber with a shivermist buster is basically unstoppable on a tight map, since they're pretty much untouchable, and freeze lasts so long that you can keep enemies immobilized indefinitely. Then there is the ridiculous amount of shock damage. Even with my Charged Quicksilver Helm touching the shock traps is an instant kill.

Take out the checkpoints/flags and the class mods, and make it free-for-all, and you'd have beta-PvP in a nutshell. Beta-PvP sucked cause everything was one/two hit and shields were useless. Here, with teams and a replacement for the useless shields, it actually works.

It's pretty much better than that basic Bomber-man rip off that if it were Bomber-man and I was playing it, I'd totally pwn.
Anyways...I like the control points and if you have the right team, you can own the game and take every control point and defend them.

Pretty enjoyable. I like it better than BN and I liked BN a lot. For those complaining about getting one shot by swords try to get defense stats for the swords giving you problems. Also consider playing a defender and shadowing teammates to provide defensive support. I prefer the fast pace of the striker, using guerrilla hit-and-run tactics to run back and heal between skirmishes. I have an extra 6 hp from pendants though so that makes it a lot easier to survive.
To those who complain that swords are OP in lockdown... you have yet to see how awesomely table-turning a single good bomber can be :P I seen a bomber 1HKO the entire enemy team with a DBB and have been shiverlocked for over a minute (now I know how dukey feels lol).
I used to rock a GF/DA combo at first but now using a shivermist buster my average damage per match has risen to nearly 8k.
BTB also beats the heavys in a fair few places, but its so satisfying to hit a few recon people by accident on a swing of a heavy sword :D
In my opinion, lockdown has balance the three attack types really well, but bombs probably the best here :D (albeit by a small margin)
I'm a big fan. Good teamwork and careful use of shields overcomes the gear differences. I've seen my team of all GF/DA get hammered many times by well organized teams that use handguns and bombs. Not only that... because of the high damage rate, you really ONLY need to get a good 5* to compete. Just one. Not hard to do. And if not... use the guardian shields, help your better geared teammates until you do.
Also, my magma driver finally pwns in something. :)
Well done, OOO. I've been waiting for PvP like this for a long time.

@BTYM
no, you didn't understand Gwen, many people have multiple sets of 5* and people probably will get more for pvp.
I'm really hoping that T2 will fill out more, its better in my opinion. There is more fighting, less kiting and generally no two/one hit KOs. There is also no sillyhuge bombs' radiuses. And its much cheaper when it comes to gearing up so the pouting about pay2win playerbase will have no real excuse. There is also no ability trinkets it in it since they are considered T3 so this is another balance plus, the defense trinkets from tokens are also really cheap, they cost 20 tokens each and they don't add too much.
Hahaha so much easier than in the preview. Playing preview players means everyone is pretty good, the regular people blow so its so much easier.
