Just retested today. Sometime between today and my last tests on the 13th of October this has been stealthy patched.
Thought I would let you guys know.

Also an apology to that person who tested them recently and I told him he was wrong, seems he was right :o

<&d0gr0ck> Huh, after a bit of poking around all resist trinkets do work properly

<&d0gr0ck> I was able to confim that 2x Soaking Whetstone are as much as any Vog/Volcanic piece... just as the bars imply...

Hm

Actually I think 1 trinket gives just barely lower resist than a 5* fire resist armor/helm. I'll have to test that properly later.
I need Eeks to log on :3

I know you had told me I was wrong, don't know if I'm that person.

I THOUGHT they were working... Good to know I wasn't wrong. ;)

I'll be on in a hour or so if needed.

Thanks so much for testing

Thanks so much for testing and reporting this. You would think OOO would mention a change like this in the release notes.

But, now I have to choose between my heat trinket, my module trinkets and the resist trinkets. I need another three trinket slots. -)

2 peirce trinkets? For what

2 peirce trinkets?

For what is worth, the defense trinkets had been tested before and they have worked for a long time (maybe from whenever they were added). The tests, however, show that they don't do a huge amount. And, the better you get (and deeper into the clockworks), the less important defense of any kind becomes. You have to not get hit, rather than depend on your armor.

Basically, I have most of the defense trinkets, but i can't see ever using them.

Right they "worked" before,

Right they "worked" before, but now do they actually add more bonus that will actually matter? I have a bunch of tokens I've been saving up and need to decide if I can make some good purchases here for equipment balance :D

Anyone test this and can confirm with some spiral knight "numbers" yet?

2 defensive status UV's(thinking of fire and shock) arent hard to obtain, so who would ditch firepower trinkets like CTR ASI or dmg bonus or health trinkets to equip status trinkets, which are worth around as much as a medium uv(if thats correct)

and since the trinkets are specified and dont provide defense against all status effects..what kinda place would 1 want to use the trinkets for?(once again replacing firepower trinkets)

just wondering :o

@biggestloser The status

@biggestloser The status trinkets are essentially "Free", given that you collect the required tokens just doing regular gameplay over time. I've got over 100 primal sparks at the moment without ever specifically grinding for them. The damage trinkets, on the other hand, both require fairly expensive crafting and pvp tokens to create.

So for me, just as an example, I could:
Use no trinkets. (currently)
Spend 150ce (I think it's 150) to unlock a slot and a few tokens that are cluttering up my inventory to add, say, freeze resist to the grey feather set I'm cooking up, and get a triple-play of freeze/shock/fire resist.
Spend 150ce on the slot and then 400+800ce and a pile of crowns, mats, and 150 pvp tokens (30000cr worst case) to get a damage trinket.

So now the question is, how

So now the question is, how many RF trinket can you add to a vog set to really the get the maximum possible RF ?

1 or 2 ?

Uh, did you read the first post?

As far as resist status trinkets, they are easy to swap out. You can put freeze ones on when you are going into a freeze, etc. You are always going to want ASI and/or CTR (depending on the weapon), so getting those as UVs makes more sense. Still, I'm leaning toward ASI/CTR UVs and the module trinkets to get both, rather than using status trinkets.

Freeze is going to be really

Freeze is going to be really handy for lockdown, as Nicoya said. Full skolver stops shivermists affecting you at all. Right now armour makes no difference for actual damage defence but you could have 2x sizzling hearthstones and wear vog and you're getting shivermist immunity plus ASI from vog which we all know is helpful with the GFs and DAs that are so popular. It'll be even more useful if they actually fix the uselessness of armour.

As for the actual clockworks, skolver is great for freeze/piercing and vog is great for fire/elemental, but I don't always want to sacrifice my damage defence for my status defence so trinkets will be useful there. It also means I can be more diverse with what I wear into firestorm if I don't need to depend on fire resist from vog.

And I talk waaaaay too much.

Jellosjello
I'm sure he did read the

I'm sure he did read the first post, but it's nice to get confirmation from multiple sources before thinking about equipment changes. I'd like to hear from a few others about how well they work now as well :)

anyone else confirm this? or do they work the same as before? (no flaming me please!)

Pupu is well known in these

Pupu is well known in these forums and especially in the Wiki Editors section for actually doing these tests for months. You two are probably new so you weren't aware of that. Here's a link to his past documented testings regarding fire trinkets:
http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/10522

Usually he isn't the only one doing these tests though, and is usually supported by other testers.

I'm also seeking for the best combination to achieve a vog set with real max RF.

I've plenty of toys to test that and I would like to help. (RF trinket, vog with RF UV, fov with UV CTR VH)

So status trinkets now work & may be useful, but defense trinkets are still worthless? Last test I saw for defense trinkets showed very slightly less damage taken, but death just as quick from the same number of blows (even for double 5* trinkets). Wonder if they will ever make defense trinkets worth using? (especially considering how awesome weapon modules are)

Wasn't sure if it was because of the patch, but I knew they were working. Also, they're very useful in LD. I'm able to walk through shock and freeze bombs with UV resist armor/helm and trinket combos.

some ATH stats

Just checked fire trinkets in the Advance Training Hall using FoV and the grates. (NOT a good measure for how it works in clockworks, but useful for demonstrating that it does have an effect)

FoV stats:
2 vog pcs = just over 4 sec (starts at 5, but immediately counts down to 4)
2 vog pcs + 5* wetstone = a little over 3 seconds (starts at 4, but counts down to 3 before a full second has passed)

Grate stats:
2 vog pcs = just over 3 sec (starts at 4, but immediately counts down to 3)
2 vog pcs + 5* wetstone = no fire status (only the half pip of burst damage)
