Mysterious button in FSC - SOLVED

Credits to Azukii from [Coup De Grace] for finding the treasure boxes.
After that, I decided to do a solo FSC run and purposely did not press the button. What I found out was that if you press the button, a blue box will appear. If you shoot that blue box, you'll get access to three treasure boxes:
If you don't press the button, no blue box will appear:

I confirmed that this pathway
I confirmed that this pathway is new, part of the latest update. Check any youtube video of D27 (from before yesterday, obviously) and you won't find it there.

I think its in the 4th level
I think its in the 4th level of FSC, at the beginning. The stairs split to either side, and you have clear out some shadowfire blocks to reach the party button at the top. The button itself is at the top of the stairs, on the right side of the doorway, hidden under a crate.

It used to disable alpha
It used to disable alpha wolvers from spawning in the totem room
At least, it did in the 10 test runs knightmare did of the button on/off

That was disproven, many times, by many people.
Any "effect" you saw in your test runs was purely coincidental.
Prior to the latest update, it did absolutely nothing.
