New Slot and New Companion

I've been trying to think of a way to have your own pet/sidekick/minion whatever you wanna call it. Something similar to mecha knights, but you can equip it and always have it with you. However if we start having such a thing would it make the mech knight obsolete? In my opinion mecha knights will become highly unpopular once people can have their own little companion of their choice following them. So my suggestion is that you could make mecha knights stronger and more rare to make them a more desirable find that people wouldn't mind using.

My ideas for the pet system would be that you have to buy an equipment slot for it that lasts 30 days. I believe 500 ce would be a fair price (debate it as you wish). You start off with just a small round metal creature that is 1*. Let's just call it a Proto Bot for now. You can upgrade this robot down many different alchemy paths to make it into what you want. Just like trinkets the robot would come at it's completed level. It never requires heat.

Now how do we use our new friend though? My suggestion is that every floor you start off with a 5th slot continuing off your vial slots. You can summon your pet by simply clicking on it or pressing 5. Once your pet dies you will not be able to use it again until the next floor.

Here's some of my ideas for different alchemy paths.

Path for Mecha Wolver: High Speed, Medium Strength, Med-Low Defence, deals Piercing damage, weak against Elemental

Proto Bot
Scavenger Bot (has legs and ears now)
Furred Scavenger (a little larger has a steel colored fur on it)
Hunter (has a tail)
Mecha Wolver (Looks like a robotic wolver, can perform sneak attacks by digging underground)

Path for Quake: Low Speed, High Strength, High Defence, deals Normal damage, has no weakness

Proto Bot
Heavy Bot (basically like a monkey at this point, big arms, small legs)
Armoured Bot (has armoured plating)
Golem (Larger, bigger feet and fists)
Quake (Looks similar to a timber, can stun all enemies within 2 spaces by stomping the ground)

Path for Leviathan: Medium Speed, Medium Strength, Medium Defence, deals Elemental damage, weak against Shadow

Proto Bot
Cobalt Bot (has arms, legs, and a blue tint)
Cobalt Knight (has a humanoid form, carries a shield)
Unsheathed Knight (is hunched over a little, has a small serpent-like tail, carries a sword)
Leviathan (has on plated armor, longer tail, and has horns, can perform lunge attacks similar to zombies)

Path for Vitalz: Medium Speed, Low Strength, Low Defence, deals Shadow damage, weak against Piercing, drops a heart on death

Proto Bot
Winged Bot (has wings similar to a bat)
Vita Bot (Carries a vitapod on it's back, gives user chance of gaining extra health when healing)
Radiance (Has an aura around it now)
Vitalz (Slightly larger, always doubles health when user finds a heart)

That's all I can think of right now. Comments and ideas are appreciated.

This idea isnt bad but I

This idea isnt bad but I think if maybe instead of it always being with you it just redesigns your own personal mecha knight so when you summon the
mecha knight it looks like what you described aswell as gets stronger from the diffrent lvls.

While the mecha knight is active it does passive skills.

500 CE to start your own mecha knight design is very far.
Make the player choose the path when the item is purchased.

Player gets to choose:
colors
name
path

Crowns could be used to buy better paint jobs.

Yea not a bad idea...I like

Yea not a bad idea...I like the color scheme idea. And I know the whole 500 CE thing could be expensive for some...I'm just trying to keep OOO in mind though since they have to find ways to make people use energy so they can make more money. Personally I'd prefer it to be free, but I'm just trying to be realistic lol...

Fighing pets changes the

Fighing pets changes the entire combat dynamic in the game, and your faced with the design problem of...

A. Making them too weak to be worth the effort of using them.
B. If they are powerful enough see regular use, they'd have to reexamine several aspects of combat and monster balance to account for the extra damage output.

A cosmetic pet would be one thing (mostly a distraction to other players), but functional pets are dangerous because of the impact they can have. Theres also the added chaos created by monsters with evasion and AOE abilities, making crowd control less precise for the knights.

Constructor Series

Please don't come up with these types of ideas as they are to imbalance the game. My idea is WAY better:

i say you should be able to

i say you should be able to call them by a name, have different animal types, like wolvers, bats, ash tail wolvers and so on, be able to choose their colour to match your liking or even match your spiral knight character. its not imbalancing the game, if theres a problem with it interfering your game then maybe they should only be there when we are going solo in tiers. shouldnt have a eqiupment slot with a limited time, but should be permanent and there should only be one slot to balance the game, not that it would ruin the games balance with animals, but i am trying to view this from everyones view to be fair to people.

JUST because you dont like something, doesnt mean you should spoil it for other people.
