Hmm...
Your art style is simply incredible, it far exceeds my own, and I have done a lot of Fan Art of Spiral Knights on my own...
I do have one request though, and it's my character. However there are quite a lot of details that I would like put in, so I guess I'll try and help you to the best of my ability.
1. Vog Cub Coat and Cap.
2. Side Blade (Toasty) on his back.
3. Gash across his right eye (my character is the one on the far right of this picture http://i.imgur.com/id3NU.png - thats the kind of style I would like the gash to be).
4. In his right hand, I would like this sword (link: http://i.imgur.com/TDGwg.jpg - sword is a tad longer than an Ascended Calibur, and thinner...).
5. He himself is very reserved but dark in nature. This directly correlates to his pose (I'll work on an outline so you can see what I am trying to refer to...).
My in game name is Ailment if you want to ask me some more questions about what I am trying to describe. I'll do what I can to help you if you should decide to take on my request.

Er...
Could you make me one of the characters holding the Ash of Agni and chasing Evil Duck (or mildly malignant duck as I like to call him in my head?) My character looks like my forum picture, but with a ribbon and flower... also ears that don't quite match my helmet but you could make them match?) My favorite armor is fencing jacket... ftw....

It depends. For pieces with several colours involved I like to get it fleshed out in values (black and white) first before I play around with colours. But for something that has distinct colour sections, I often just start right out with it to save time.
My method really just splays out from the particular problems I get with the picture. Sometimes I end up doing one or two layers because there's just too many parts, or I end up with 20+ layers if colouring is particularly finnicky.

Turning up quite nicely!
Since this is a WIP, I already have 3 different fix-suggestions for it, but I think you'll understand pretty much what I'm aiming for. For now though, I'm gonna tell you that you're free to go towards the cute aspect, and I've been thinking about adding a Howlitzer hidden behind the Mewkat as some added bonus, though it's all up to you.

MUCH epicer than I predicted the Howlitzer to be. If I had a way to thank you, I would, but since I can't really do anything beyond words for now, I'll just give out a verbal appreciation :) I tried printing the whole thing once, but it came out too dark, so I'm gonna tweak it later for my failure of a printer.

Have you started on mine yet? If not, I'd like to slightly change my 'order' if it's alright.
Basically, I changed my look. Swapped out the Skolver cap for a Quicksilver helm with dusky mech'tennas.
It's a little more unique than full Skolver, so it'd be cool if you could go with this instead.
If it's too much of a bother to draw, the original full Skolver's fine.
If you need more screens, I'll get some.
