If the Shadowsun armors handgun damage bonus was changed from low to medium, would you choose to use it or the Justifier (don't say neither, that's just dodging the question)? Would you still use it over the Justifier in areas that have mobs that cause curse or poison?

Overall what is better, higher damage per shot, or faster firing rate?

P.S. Support the change!

I would rather wear Justifier

I would rather wear Justifier or a combination of nameless & justifier over shadowsun.I would use 2 damage trinkets instead so I get very high asi and damage bonus. But if you are looking for max damage bonus then I would go with 1 piece of shadowsun and a nameless piece.(I like having 2 defense types at any given time.)
This is just my opinion.

To me dmg bonus on gun is far

To me dmg bonus on gun is far more usefull than asi, (although asi is important too). But as the shadow sun only gives low per piece i rather go with asi

gunslinger. I would definitly get shadowsun if the dmg bonus would be increased with medium per piece.

Justifier

I would still choose the Justifier over the Shadowsun. The point of a gunslinger (in my opinion) is long-range support, and the Shadowsun supports more of a tanking effort with the increased defensive stats and small damage bonus. As Teejayhira stated, having a very high ASI and then stacking two damage trinkets is optimal for a true gunslinger. It also should be noted that damage bonus isn't the only thing that effects DPS, speed also plays a large role too. Now if you only use Autoguns and Antigua lines then I can see why you wouldn't care too much for a speed increase, but I think a good gunslinger focuses on weapons that swordsman could not effectively use in order to support the team as a whole (for example, the Callahan due to its naturally low fire rate).

TL;DR Justifier would still be better than Shadowrun because of the greater provided bonus.

If I didn't already have good

If I didn't already have good UVs and Damage trinkets, I would absolutely start using my Shadowsun. Personally, I never get cursed unless in PVP, and poison isn't a strong enough effect to make me avoid the armor entirely.

Not a gunslinger

Theoretically i come in somewhere between Teejay, and Dirty-Hairy.
Basically, embrace the flexibility that having multiple armor choices give you. I'd try and get a damage and an ASi trinket, and then really maximize what mixed set you were gonna use depending on strata. It is somewhat of an endgame goal, but i think it is always best to get 2 helms+2 armors that cover all your bases. Then mix and match those with trinkets to really attack what you are facing.
Also, it would stand to reason ASI is gonna be what you want if ur going polaris, and Dmg bonuses are gonna be more useful for say blitzneedle. I wouldn't make any decisions based on poison/curse defense (pretend like they are not even there, lol).

Well ASI is much better than

Well ASI is much better than DMG due the ability to immediately do what you want. With ASI the time between bullets shot is reduced, but not the reload time. But also the animation how he graps the weapon and bring it back in normal position is speeded up, so:

You will be able to deal with 3 shot weapons per doing 2 shot much more damage, also with alchemers the 1 shot thing. Calculated the damage over time would be not so much higer with dmg bonus, sure it would be, but i would spend some damage for survive more situations.
