Although I'm not entirely clear as to what the real purpose of this thread is, it seems to me that majority of the input in this thread is either hardcore trolling or mindless, aimless raging.
@Jim-Dale:
If this forum is as bad as you suggest it is, why not incorporate the following?
A) A list of suggestions in the OP on how to make this forum better
B) If the above is not an option, then a list of alternates in the OP that would be better in comparison, and would create a difference (for the better) in user interface.
@Holonimbus: Yes, that was unjustifiably long, unrequired, and hardcore trolling. It would be greatly appreciated if you would either drastically shorten or completely delete that post, as it has no true purpose in creating reform.
Unfortunately, I'm going to refrain from giving a bump up or down until some decent changes to the comprehension and logic have been made.

We need siggies too. I do art and I mak siggies on other game forums for people to wear when they post. Then there are also custom avatars instead of just knight pictures. I don't think we need to change avis but siggies would be nice :D
Where did that meta-thread about which suggestions are [active15days/morethan5people/stuff] go?
I can't find it any more, because this forum makes it impossible to find stuff.
Anyone seen that thread?
You mean...the thread that's been on the front page since it was posted?
Yeah, I saw it. It was on the..um, first page...last I checked.

Ooops, either it wasn't on page 1 when I looked or I had "overview" stuck in my head to badly that I skipped checking for "view".
Anyway: Thanks for the link, that was very fast and effective! I think I'm just going to skip using the useless forum "functions" from now on and instead post questions about where the stuff I'm searching for is in a random thread.
I'd be satisfied with account pages and avatars imported from the game.
I believe a change is in order as well, though I'm not sure what to.
I'd suggest phpBB but only because its what I'm used to.
SMF could be much better, I've never used it.
I honestly have seen some people do cool things with durpal, but not that cool. Recent threads/viewer pages is about it. That and a functional search bar.
Links which automatically come up - eg Divine Avenger without having to do the HTML. Or maybe a picture? Or maybe a program which allows you to test it out and see if you like it?
Do:
Proper quoting will be useful for responses.
A "Quick reply" instead of Preview > post. It seems more convenient.
Proper HTML
User control panel in order to see how the threads you posted in are doing.
Don't:
Post counts and reputation - This would end up wrong. This is a forum, not a popularity contest.
Sigs - Aesthetic, and makes post bigger and more obnoxious.
Avatars - this is sketchy. The way they are right now is ok, but not that important.
If we get signatures i am gonna go on a spree of murdering.
Jim Dale added something that starts with a P and ends in Etition.
I have been brought back from the dead soley... SOLEY by the siren call of this post. I show FULL SUPPORT for a new forum service.
Support gained my old friend.
Why not add a system where, if you want to do a main thread with other threads related to it (if the idea for that specific thing has too many words to be in one thread with other related ideas - it may be hard on the user to read), let them drop down from the main thread. I did it the normal way with loads of threads in the suggestion forum, people got mad at me, so now i have had to move it to the graveyard. :(
Jim-Wiki-Dale forgot GayPenls disappeared.
In fact Jim Dale just got a marvelous idea.
~Jim Dale did not have an annoying Gwen signature UNTIL NOW
JIM DALE SIGNATURE - READ THIS

It can't be to hard to get a new forum, can it?
THUMBS UP IF YOU THINK THIS IS A GOOD IDEA!!!1!
