Need more information

What do you like to play. Sword, gun, bomb? What do you wish to achieve? There is no best set in this game.

Depends...

With the info provided i'd say ditch the cobalt armor for something else, whatever your play style will be. if you want to keep the autogun, i'd take it down the needle shot line instead of the pepperbox. if you don't keep the autogun you should switch out for an alchmer. IMO the calibur is fine, it got me all the way down to Vana so you can keep upgrading that.

Cobalt

Cobalt IMO is useless once done with tier 2. Upgrade it to maybe 3* at most, but then leave it alone (Unless you want the Almirian Crusader Armor).

i like swords...

idk if i want to stay sword and gun or just swords. i find myself not using the gun as much anymore. so then what's a good set for each? also, if not cobalt armor, then what? i was thinking about just saving the caliber so i can get the leviathon blade.

Wolver line is a good set.

Wolver line is a good set. Piercing defence and sword bonus.

Bopp should be here within the next 10 hours and post his guides on armour and weapon selections.

for an all-rounder set, try

for an all-rounder set, try having a skelly mask, wolver coat and owlite shield. they offer defence for elemental, shadow, and piercing.
at least, thats what i wear.

Then there is the divine veil

Then there is the divine veil and skolver coat combo, a very nice all rounder set.

good comment

@ Fallenhope: good idea. playing tier 2, I noticed I definitely need all my bases covered. already got wolver coat, but i'm actualy using skelly shield already. just about as good though.
@ Ironskullkid: no? then what armor do you think i should have?

Wolver line is by far the

Wolver line is by far the best line for sword users. Ironskullkid probably said no because everyone uses it. It gives awesome attack bonuses, so why not?

Anyways, there are a few things to consider before going full out on the wolver line.

If you plan on doing shadow lair runs or if fiend stages give you a hard time, then building something else that does have shadow protection will save you time from having to craft multiple armor sets to get you going. Crown of the Fallen is a good thing to add to a Skolver Coat because you get ASI and DMG bonus and you also get Shadow and Fire protection (good for FSC). It also has a damage penalty vs fiend which cancels out the skolver bonuses against fiends. (snarbolax isn't a realistic shadow armor until after you have all your 5* gear since it is shadow lair armor)

If you have a problem with shock status, then getting shock resistance would be good. The wolver line only offers freeze, fire, and poison status protection (poison is only snarbolax so same comment as before). Divine Vail, or Grey Feather cowl would be good options for shock resistance.

Personally, I run Vog Cub Cap + Skolver Coat for everything but shadow levels. In Shadow levels I swap out the Vog for Crown of the Fallen. If I had more armor options I'd swap things out more often, but since I don't, I use what I have.
