@Pawn It's funny how you think I'd be that pathetic to unfriend you. What I mean is, there is a 100% guarantee of you being able to get the Steam Mask just from inviting 5 friends to play. Obtaining items such as prismatic halos etc is a harder task to achieve due to the item's rarity. Why would they put an item in the AH which is freely being given out to those who give the time to get it?

Yeah, tbh, I would've expected that as well. But the description mentions nothing about their being only for the first players of BN, that's in the 'where can I get one?' section, so that only tells you where they were gotten. Groundbreaker is specified as being Preview player exclusive.

Likewise the Protocrest came out when accessories first did, and they are STILL obtainable (on an account that doesn't already have one), so they don't count either.

My argument stands: Groundbreaker should not be on the Auction house.
Not to say that I wouldn't want one; I could use it to replace my Spiral sallet as my costume.

But the Groundbreaker was released solely to players who had been there since beta, even their description marks them as such. To sell them on the AH would destroy that, and it's be nothing more than just another rare but useless item. Special edition doesn't cut it anymore.

As for the 'it's nothing sacred' argument, who's praying to it? I wasn't a beta player, and I can support Groundbreaker not going on the AH. I don't and have never seen anyone walking around saying: 'Yea, wearing my groundbreaker lika baws. can look, but can't touch this; property of a beta player. Umad?'
It's just to differentiate the newer guys from the 'originals'.

But I was a little disappointed when Spiral Bombheads came out on featured. Just a little. I had assumed they were a limited edition item, and was proud to have one. Proven wrong when it came out on featured ><

But I still wear mine. A little disappointed at the time, yes, but makes no big difference to me.

-1 to Groundbreaker to be on featured.

EDIT: If anything, there should be a redone version the the Groundbreaker on AH if people want it so much. If not reskinned/named, then just renamed. They can be like the heart pendants: Penta heart Pendant (crafted) = True Love Locket (LP drop.) Same thing but one remains special because it was obtained another way.
