I'm impatient, so whenever someone asks to have money or send me a request, I'd put them on ignore straight away. I clear out my ignore list every so often in the vain hope that if those beggars are still playing, they'd have learned to not beg, but it's more likely that they've quit the game.
I've tried the put-vast-amounts-of-CE-and-crowns-and-then-go-AFK routine, but all that did was to make this guy yell at me about accepting the trade, so I gave up after he said he'd report me. No lulz, so I'm too lazy to do that again. I think the 'repeatedly asking why' strategy could be fun, maybe I'll try that one. ;o
