Does your search usually work
Does your search usually work for finding buyers instead of sellers? One problem is that there are far more sellers than buyers; "WTS" shows up more than 2x as frequently as "WTB" on the first page in the bazaar right now, for example.
With that in mind, I was also wondering if you offer refunds if the results are unsatisfactory, or if you're willing to perform a requested search, keep the results mostly private, and inform a prospective buyer of how many valid results showed up in the past [x number of days] to help them decide if they want to pay to see those results or not.

Sadly, it would not be very useful for finding buyers. Because of the way I need to format the search queries and the many random different ways that WTB requests can be phrased it would provide a huge number of false positives.
If you're willing to put up with that, I could give you EVERY mention of the item (in just the Bazaar subforum) and you can sift through at your leisure.
These searches are very time intensive on my part. I earn less Cr-per-hour doing searches vs. doing FSC runs; I offer my search service not to make money but because it helps out the community. :)
That said, because they take time I cannot do them for free. I cannot give a "result evaluation period" prior to payment.
For your refund question, if someone requests an item and I believe it will have few or no results I will advise them before they have me search. For 10kCr most find that an acceptable risk.
If their request is more reasonable and should have a number of results, but does not; I usually apologize and offer a discount on their next search.
