Health trinkets... Wow. I am a bomber and usually bomb in tier 1, but occasionally in tier 2. In tier 1 I use the cold snap firecracker combo, and until now was it effective. Then comes emberbreak and health trinkets. I usually can take out a 5 people mob, but now they consist entirely on people with health trinkets. They just come from tier 3 with absolutely no skill at all and win for their team because they can live longer than everybody while I have 5 bars of health from recon. It's so annoying how I can't kill anybody anymore when they just get blasted out of the way and come back before I can hide. I really wish they would ban health trinkets in LD all together.

No it's not too much for me I'm not a tier 1er it's just fun to play there, kinda.
If you play there a good amount, you should consider making trinkets. If you play rarely, then don't.
And it all depends if you have trinket slots, too.

You just need to adapt to the increased amount of HP. It's still possible to bomb people to death, you just need to get used to some living the first few blasts; also, a combination of bombing, gunning, and swording is usually the best strategy.
@Neodasus: It's actually pretty easy to score 10K and over in T3 but the original post is about T1, I've never had the honor of killing you in T1 so I doubt you play it.
Yea. If you dont feel like dying, another choice is full support. I think Balderus has seen me go full cap striker a couple times... Or full deathmark recon...
Killing people sometimes isn't the best thing you can do for your team. Like Imperial said; Capturing other points, death-marking people, guarding a striker/recon, or just distracting the other team is a big help. I can usually handle most of the other team but I can only capture one point at a time, that's why I'm so glad when people like Greenlocust or Imperialstriker are on my team, that's at least two points that will be ours since one defends and the other captures.
Health trinkets have always been OP in LD. When they were rare, the team with Health Trinkets used to completely destroy their enemies most times, ad they had almost double durability.
As this was unfair, Nick heard our pleas and allowed everyone to get them. So now, you can play even, so there's nothing to complain about.
Try scoring 10k in 2* armor and no damage bonuses
Be a man, use 0* armor as striker. You'd be amazed as to what doesn't kill you in 1 hit.
I haven't actually played T1 or T2 lockdown since I got my trinkets; do the star levels of the trinkets you have equipped affect your tier? Maybe that's all the change that's needed, with T1 only allowing up to 1 star trinkets, T2 only allowing up to 3 star, and T3 allowing the full gamut.
Or I could suggest you just get better, but that's really a poor response to what is at its core a balance issue.

Dodging the auto-aim isn't that bad, just frustrating when it happens over and over. Just take a break from LD and wail on a few monster in the clockworks. It's easy to lose your temper there if you play for too long, I'm guilty myself. (You'll notice the Yawning when i get killed by a flourish that swings nowhere near me yet somehow connects).
And auto aim disappearing wont make the gunners vanish. Moving + shooting = autoaim doesn't work. And a smart gunner never stops moving.
Nothing is more broken then the toothpick period. Reduce range/change the first hit damage, make it unable to be shield-cancelled maybe? I dunno. I just think that my Triglav should just have a LITTLE more swing range then a tiny toothpick.
Back to heart trinkets... They are silly. If you think you need one then get one, or work around them. If you want you will find a way.

I used to be against trinkets, since I thought that it gave people an unfair advantage. My viewpoint has made a complete turnabout though. Here's why:
Previously, pre-heart trinket patch, one was able to go recon, go in Skolver armor (ash tail even), sneak up on a lone striker attempting to cap a point, and 2-hit him before he even knew what happened. Fun stuff, but it meant more time waiting, dead. Now, attacks are more lengthy, and you actually need skill to outmaneuver and kill your opponent. There are the people who don't use trinkets just because they are still against them, but that's their loss.
TL;DR get trinkets.

The range can be tested this way: The flourish can hit an exploding block without even appearing to get close to it. That's pretty ridiculous.

2) Keep damage the same
3) ???
4) PROFIT (legit $$$ man)
Result: Happy players; Increased diversity of armor/weapons.
Increased diversity means more armor types. This means more $$$.
Happier players also means more $$$. They will actually start to enjoy lockdown (I'm talking about the non-flourish users).

Here's a suggestion for OOO: Based on the player's equipment, have the lockdown game sort them depending on this. They would all be categorized into:
1) Trinketless + No autoaim
2) Trinkets + Autoaim
3) Trinketless + Autoaim
4) Trinkets + No autoaim
The game could detect whether you have autoaim checked so people don't lie about having autoaim or not, as well as detecting trinkets. Yet another suggestion on how to balance LD....

im more against the idea of only letting health trinket work in LD. i mean, in T3, if you dont have that extra 12hp, you are at an disadvantage, especially if you want to play sword only striker and not get killed in 2 hits.

1. Don't change the Flourish line at all, in fact...don't change any weapons. And...don't change any armor either. With the addition of heart trinkets to Krogmo, there isn't really any imbalance.
2. Disable Autoaim. If gunners generally have to play without autoaim and autoaim doesn't affect bombing...it shouldn't be ridiculously beneficial to sword users. The fact that autoaim tracks recons in stealth is why a striker will slice at nothing at all continuously the second "!" appears over their head.
3. Group size in SK is 4. Guild vs Guild lockdown games should also be 4.
+Suggestion
Add the arena game. Have options for random teams 4v4. And Guild vs Guild games (4v4). The original arena game would still use the 3 "classes" introduced in lockdown.
Extend the arena game to an optional 1v1 mode. This would have a random mode and a dueling pregame room (Like the Krogmo Prep Room) where you can invite another player (Max: 2) and then take the elevator to duel. This mode would not cost anything to play, have no bribe meter, would not grant any Krogmo Coins nor will have a leaderboard.
Oh yeah! .. to assist Noobs and now it's being abused (Noone saw that coming..) Autoaim take's out the whole point of "skill" in Lockdown, but of course that doesn't stop people from using it (another shocker...) the best player will always be Autoaim "100% accuracy" "so skilled 'they' don't even need to touch you, let alone be in range to hit you!". me and Feller ARE complainers, but complaining about our complaining doesn't make you any better x) (*heart attack from {non} shock*). Zing!. "but why not just use autoaim? o.o" "Because I'm not skilled enough to abuse a pourly made mechanic".
if EVERYONE used Autoaim Lockdown would be even more about just having a better connection. And no REAL gunner is his/her right mind would use Autoaim. (Spamming RT line guns doesn't make you a gunner). Best player is Autoaim, currently playing for a Guild called "Click spam".

Leave it to the biggest QQ'er in Spiral Knights to revive a dead thread so he can cry about a game mechanic that only helps in Lockdown with one type of sword (Pierce swords), only one strategy with that sword (combo spam), only corrects for about five degrees of error, and even then is still inferior to strike-weaving/shield-cancelling.

I've only tried it once, I think one of the big things is getting used to how the lag works, another would be how shields work differently with the different classes. The SK wiki has lots of info if you want to look around it.

You'll get more information by playing it. Haven't played T1 LD in a little while, but from what I hear, the game's changed. Not terribly friendly to newer players, what with the rocket hammers. I never really played T2, but I get the impression its just dusker clones. T3 has its fair share of skolver clones, but it has a pretty large amount of Vogs, bombers, and gunners now that the last two become actually useful at 5*
T1 is now Pay2Win.

Why would I screenshot a random statement disparaging my guild from a QQ'er? If I took a screenshot any time someone said something stupid, I'd have my hard drives and Steam Cloud filled up in no time.
As for you disparaging my guild, just because you don't remember it, doesn't mean it didn't happen. And if you can't beat an auto-aimer in a 1v1 fight, then you truly do fail at Lockdown. If you can beat them, what does it matter if they use it or not? Just because you don't like it, you don't want them to use it? I believe that most people refer to that as fascism.

Autoaim has no benefit other than helping people who don't belong in PvP. and the fact that it can glitch range should be enough to have it removed, and not to mention it locks cloaked recons.
glitch range happens with and without autoaim, but 80% is with autoaim. Viva la Autoaim.
And this is why I never play LD.

I'd like to state, for the record, that I am NOT claiming to be an amazing Lockdown player. In fact, I claim quite the opposite, which is why I've been hanging around in Random games, practicing my strike-weave technique. That said...
You clearly know nothing about the mechanics of Lockdown, or auto-aim for that matter. Have you ever even used it? I doubt it, because otherwise you would know that it does almost nothing, and more importantly, it definitely does NOT do the things you claim it does. The fact that you don't know this shows that YOU don't belong in Lockdown.
The "glitch range" you are referring to is not a glitch. It's this aspect of computer networks called "Latency." On your screen everyone is in one place, but on another screen, everyone would be in a different place. Just because it looks like that's where they are for you, doesn't mean that's where the sever has them at. The only way to solve that problem would be to invent lag-free long-distance high-bandwith connections. Since you don't understand the concept of latency, I doubt you have the knowledge to design such an impossible system.
As for the cloaked Recons, for the last time, it does not track them. The reason cloaked Recons get hit is because they fail at playing Recon. They don't move around enough (or at all), stand in obvious places, and when they do move, they move predictably. Auto-aim has nothing to do with that.
