Been there done that. Fact is, its price depends on how many ppl sell their CE. So for you to get a lower price, you need more players to buy CE and then sell it for coins. Boycotting will only raise prices. I might be horribly wrong, but y'know. This is what I have seen from the prices, having been playing since Beta.

Oh so I'm right to say that and not just making a huge fool of myself? SCORE! All in all, if you want the SK economy to boost back up, its gonna need more players. And this means all kinds of players. Not just F2P players. This means new ideas that pitch to both spectrums, both P2P and F2P players. That's why the Missions were created. F2P can enjoy them but P2P can get even more (DLC). But if players aren't willing to pitch more than just opinions and actually put in suggestions, Spiral Knights becomes a weak game. Sales drop and all of the players suffer. Just be glad you have what you have because you could easily have less. Trust me.

Its supply and demand, and I don't expect OOO to get involved anytime soon.
Here's the basics
More CE selling = lower prices
Too many buying = higher prices.
FSC giving 12k broke that into doubling the buying rate, so too much is being bought.
So simple, yet this has to be argued every update.
Can we just, idk, all pay just 3 dollars to OOO and sell that CE into the market? You know, actually fix the probelm ourselves and give OOO direct support at the same time?

Have fun complaining when the price hits 11k per 100ce. inb4 P2P vs F2P... FYI It doesn't matter if you're F2P or P2P. You support the game in one way or another. No one cares if you pay or not, just play the game and support the community.
I'm ranting now, but reasonably since this isnt going to settle for the next decade. Get over it, deal with the prices, and wait 2-3 months for the next big update (or CE pack special)

If you're concerned about CE prices, just do what I did: decide on the maximum amount you'll ever be willing to pay. When CE passes that, quit SK.
For example, the day that RJP is no longer profitable is my last day playing SK. I'm T3 so I don't run RJP much anymore, but that is what I made my decision based on. IIRC about 8kcr/100CE is the breakeven point for RJP, and anything above that I won't support; it's too cost prohibitive to early-game players.

If you are boycotting buying CE with real money then I do not think you will even make a blip in the numbers, as most people that boycott aren't ones that actually spend real money on the game. It is kind of like PETA boycotting KFC... no consequences at all.
If you are boycotting the crowns to CE price then you are going to fail just like every other "CE boycott" that has been staged. The reason this time is simple. More crowns gotten from floors (or in this case, missions) means more crowns in the market, more crowns in the market means more disposable into, which makes CE prices higher.

How can you possibly complain about CE prices?
I am completely F2P and honestly I would not be sad if CE rises to over 30k.
I can make ~45kcr (pure crowns, not including materials e.t.c) from 100ce by doing certain levels. This usually takes about an hour.
So say I start off with 100ce, and ce is ~7k for 100.
100ce -> do levels -> 45kcr -> convert to CE -> 640ce -> do levels -> 288kcr -> convert to CE -> 4.1kce -> do levels -> 1.8milcr
As you can see, if you stop wasting time moaning on forums and go grind some levels, you make a huge profit.
I can EASILY (and usually do) make over 200k a day from just doing levels. And that includes plenty of sleep, eating, sitting in haven chilling, doing other stuff.
