A Traitor Amongst Us

There is a traitor amongst us. We have managed to find some messages sent by the traitor. However, they are encrypted in some odd fashion. We are working on decrypting the messages.

So far, we managed to decrypt the first message. It seems to be a diary and message mixed together. The first message seems to be from several months ago. We are trying to determine who this knight is.

The First message:
When I first arrived here, I was unaware of your role. I was confused and lost. Command told me to "find" the core. I had no idea what the core was, much less where it was. My mission was a simple one. Join a party, go down and try and survive against the monsters that occupy the Clockworks.

When I first saw the Clockworks, I was astounded. The very idea that massive landmasses floating with their own elemental type was incredible. I joined a party of three other knights. They muttered something like "proto." I did have proto gear equipped. One knight said, "Remember your training and you will survive." My training was limited. I was just accepted into the Spiral Order. I was no where near as skilled as they were.

The elevator went down into the Clockworks depths. Someone said, "Wolvers." What were those? They were wolf like creatures. Their bite was quite painful as they did not bash like a blunt object but instead pierced though my armor. I learned to stay back from them and to only attack in quick swipes then run away. Most of the monsters can be beaten with this technique.

Then we encounted another beast type monster. A Chromalisk. "Avoid their toungue and you will be fine", I was told. After a few more levels of beasts, we were at a Clockworks terminal. A safe place. I healed then we went down deeper into the Clockworks. I was worried. Things get harder the deeper we go. I was having enough trouble with out the monsters getting stronger.

It was at depth 5 that I first encountered my first Gremlin. It was an odd sight to me. Somewhat like us in shape but it was not happy to see us. I realize now that we are interlopers in your domain but before, I was foolish. The knights bravely fought the monster. One said, "Kill the healer." I guess he was talking about the one who said, "Mending!" There was a large group of Gremlins and constructs coming at the party. The knights held their ground with out any fear. I loved how bravely they fought against the seemingly hopeless odds. I attacked your kind and the constructs trying to ensure that we would not die. I feared what would happen if I were to die.

We were in a deconstruction zone. That explained why there was a lot of Gremlins and constructs. When I reached Moorcroft Manor I was not allowed to got any deeper. The Spiral Warden told me I needed two star gear to go any deeper. I asked my fellow knights how to get two star gear. I was told to buy recipies from the strangers and do tier 1 runs with my new gear.

I followed my new instructions. I got recipies for two star gear that I would need and I learned how to do alchemy using the Alchemy Machine. I began to wonder, what was the core like? What did it look like? Where was it? Could it fix our ship? I heard other knights talking about the core being a let down. I asked about the core but all I heard was something about "spoilers." I guess I would have to find out what it looked like on my own.

As I kept doing tier one runs though Clockworks, I begain to realize the Gremlins symbol was on some of the constructs. Did they make those? I asked if anyone had tried talking with the Gremlins or if they knew anything about them. I did hear that there was a place called Emberlight where Gremlin outcasts lived. It was far deeper then I could go though. I would need tier three clearance and I didn't even have tier two clerance yet. I came to a decision that I do not regret. I would talk to the Gremlins and try and make peace with them if possible. I found my way down to a deconstruction zone. I made sure I would not have anyone join me as I did not want them to intrude on this. I was approached by a Gremlin and I did something no knight has ever done in the Clockworks before me. I threw down my weapons and surrendered to the Gremlin. He was confused at my action.

I was taken and locked into a cell of a sort. "Stay," he said. I waited calmly. The groups leader approached and seemed curious as to why I was here and I had surrendered to them. "I want to help you," I said.

I disagree!

I object! He isn't a traitor! He's doing what we should have done for the whole time!

You see, the gremlins are the ones who help made the worlds in the Clockworks. They are the ones who knew about the Core best! They wanted to take us down only because they fear if the Core is taken, the whole Cradle will fall, and they would be doomed.

Of course, we're NOT taking every single piece of energy from the Core, we simply want a little from it to power up our ship! If we could just negotiate with the gremlins nicely, we could agree on some conditions and circumstances. Problem solved! The gremlins won't lose their planet, and we get home quick.

Still, the only thing I fear is that "traitor" would not only surrender his equipment, he would also surrender the Spiral Order... But I think he knows best what he's doing.

On the other hand, he shouldn't be too impulsive, or both sides would only suffer all the more. Finally, I would want to voice out the same notion:

Make peace with the gremlins!

The most recent. It seems to

The most recent. It seems to have been sent one day after Operation Crismon Hammer started:

I want to appologize for the tardyness of this message.

I was not made aware of the operation until command announced it. The reason for my delayed response is that there was talk of betrayal. They are not aware of my betrayal, yet. The knights speak of strange things that I will not mention here as it is probably not relevant. Perhaps they are growing insane from the continuous battles they face. The knights have divided themselves into two groups. The former threatens to leave the order and throw down their arms if command does not allow them to join Operation Crismon Hammer. The latter, takes their orders from command and thanks them for the mission. Command is acting strangely as well. I do not understand why command only lets some knights join in Operation Crismon Hammer and others can not. The Knights who command approved to go onto the mission, are most likely crazed in their desperate attempts at pleasing command.

Please warn Warmaster Seerus that knights full of crazed knights are coming for him and anyone who stands in their way.

*Author's note*
Removed Mentions of OOO, Steam and DLC by request. This may be more interesting actually. Thanks.

Isisdelltion, I have one for

Isisdelltion, I have one for "metagame" talk and one for keeping it "in-game" only. I don't want to write two variants of the same story base.

So, I will let the fans decide. If the story mentions things like OOO or "non in-game" that will be "Metagame." If you don't want those kinds of things, then it will be "In-Game" only. Let me know what you want. I can write the story either way. I enjoy doing "Metagame" but I want the fans to tell me what they want.

Phantomhamachi, this is just something I am writing on my own. There are no actors or in-game RP.
