I'm talking about mission The Great Escape (and probably similar ones).
Thanks to those @#%$ing sons of the %$@# that I had to rescued on the way I had to revived with CE (!) and decided to skip most of the third level in this mission*.
They were ALL THE TIME shielding monsters I was attacking. I'm used to one shot gremlins on T3 with my Umbra Driver, but this time every time my bullet were heading toward a Thwacker those %#&@ were rushing toward it and shield it - the gremlin was thus able to end his double-hit attack and bah, here I am dead. Killed by the Twacker! I don't remember last time being hit by T3 Twacker since I crafted Umbra Driver. Menders and gun puppies were shielded as well by those %#&@ and whole level become a nightmare. Apart from shielding they also knock back attacking zombies and lumbers straight at me - sure zombies and lumbers are piece of cake, but not when you don't expect them flying off-screen in mid-attack.
I'm all for buffing monsters (and redo the nerfs) but those NPC knights are a cheap way to do so.
My suggestion is to equip those knights with blasters instead of caliburs. They don't deal any damage so it really doesn't matter if they have swords or handguns. With blasters not only they wouldn't crowd around monster I'm attacking and shield them, but also they wouldn't throw attacking zombies/lumbers at me.
EDIT:
*I couldn't skip last room though (the one with party button). It was all about running away from those "helpers" with charged Nova Driver, with a slim hope I will outrun them, dodge 20 Howlitzer's projectiles at once and destroy one of Howlitzers before my "helpers" rush forward to shield it so nearest Wing could come and heal it.
Alternatively:
1) Give them their own AI, not the hilariously broken Mecha Knight Kit AI. Maybe make them run faster too while you're at it?
or
2) Fix the hilariously broken Mecha Knight Kit AI so they don't try to shield allied projectiles anymore.
