The seerus issue with rescued knights.

I'm talking about mission The Great Escape (and probably similar ones).

Thanks to those @#%$ing sons of the %$@# that I had to rescued on the way I had to revived with CE (!) and decided to skip most of the third level in this mission*.
They were ALL THE TIME shielding monsters I was attacking. I'm used to one shot gremlins on T3 with my Umbra Driver, but this time every time my bullet were heading toward a Thwacker those %#&@ were rushing toward it and shield it - the gremlin was thus able to end his double-hit attack and bah, here I am dead. Killed by the Twacker! I don't remember last time being hit by T3 Twacker since I crafted Umbra Driver. Menders and gun puppies were shielded as well by those %#&@ and whole level become a nightmare. Apart from shielding they also knock back attacking zombies and lumbers straight at me - sure zombies and lumbers are piece of cake, but not when you don't expect them flying off-screen in mid-attack.

I'm all for buffing monsters (and redo the nerfs) but those NPC knights are a cheap way to do so.

My suggestion is to equip those knights with blasters instead of caliburs. They don't deal any damage so it really doesn't matter if they have swords or handguns. With blasters not only they wouldn't crowd around monster I'm attacking and shield them, but also they wouldn't throw attacking zombies/lumbers at me.

EDIT:
*I couldn't skip last room though (the one with party button). It was all about running away from those "helpers" with charged Nova Driver, with a slim hope I will outrun them, dodge 20 Howlitzer's projectiles at once and destroy one of Howlitzers before my "helpers" rush forward to shield it so nearest Wing could come and heal it.

Alternatively: 1) Give them

Alternatively:

1) Give them their own AI, not the hilariously broken Mecha Knight Kit AI. Maybe make them run faster too while you're at it?
or
2) Fix the hilariously broken Mecha Knight Kit AI so they don't try to shield allied projectiles anymore.

well the good thing is, that now we can always think:"never mind these random noobs, npcs are much worse.."

cant really imagine how annoying they would be, if i played with energy instead of elevator pass, but i feel sry for u

They can do much worst.

So i had 2 of these smarties walk up up behind me whilst i was backing away from a gremlin 1 or 2 tiles in front of me.
Instead of doing any damage, these 2 raised their shields directly behind me.....
Next thing i know, the gremlin is in front of me and i am blocked from retreating by those 2 trolls =_=

obviously i died...

So you can picture me frantically spamming shots trying to finish the gremlin, all the while screaming
"WHY ARE YOU 2 NUTS DOING THAT??? LET ME GO!!! GAAAAaaahhh... i died.... =_="

NPC griefers. This should be like a monumental moment in the history of griefing.

What i would suggest is that, they are prisoners, dun give them anything!
Most importantly, don't give them shields =[

An even easier solution is to have those prisoners all at the end of the level.
but this might be bad for players that need their help.

OOO could also fix the collision to allow players to walk or attack through their shields.

Btw has anyone tried to complete missions by not rescuing them?

No wonder these guys got imprisoned

They sucked. I've seen the AI on these things and it's horrible. No wonder you had to rescue them in the first place.

@ Evning

"Btw has anyone tried to complete missions by not rescuing them?"

Most missions require you to free them first, or gates won't open. In some you can kill everything else first before freeing them.

They're great if you're a

They're great if you're a Bomber, since they don't block your bomb blasts. Essentially lets you use them as a living wall to block off Greavers,Turrets and other annoying things while you sit behind them dropping Bombs.

What I wouldn't give to have these guys accompany me down into the Clockworks....

hehe great for bombers, in the way for swordsmasters and trolls for gunners :D

but i agree alltough i will never play that mission again just because of those trolls it needs fixing. (and like Sternlock said fix mechaknights while you're at it)

I think that they should

I think that they should carry weapons other than caliburs like blast bombs or blasters after all swords aren't the only thing knights use.

I'm glad I'm not the only one

I'm glad I'm not the only one here.

The good thing about Mecha Knight is:
a. You don't have to activate it.
b. It dies pretty fast when confronted with some dangerous monster like, let's say T2 Scuttlebot.

I can imagine they may be helpful if you are using bombs, but game shouldn't force player to use one category of weapon in such way.

My favorite thing about them,

My favorite thing about them, is that I can kill a howlitzer and they will gladly take the exploding head to the face. No need to run away, shoot, or shield :-D (I play mostly with swords, and then some bombs, and rarely guns)

I kinda like them. They have

I kinda like them. They have a lot more health than the mecha knights, they don't shock you, their damage output scales with the tier, 2 of them together can kill the odd mob, and if you let them attack first they draw the aggro away from you. Surprisingly handy against fiends.

Before giving them guns, fix their magik shield since multiple knights will end up blocking themselves.
