I use the dusker armor set against JK but I die a lot before I even get to him so if I get the brute jelly armor set would that increase my chance of survival?
JK survivalibility
There's not much of a difference between them in resistance (both are 3*), except that the brute jelly has stun resist. However, the sword bonuses waaay beat stun resist. Could you tell me the rest of your gear and play style?
Oh, and do you usually die to slimes or gun puppies/lumbers? If you have more trouble with constructs, it may be worth it to use an owlite shield with its elemental defense instead of a twisted targe/defender.
Here's some links that could help.

Spamming your sword's charge attack works well at least until you get a hold of things in T2(assuming you don't use a vile striker or something >_<).Play it safe and try not to complete your sword's full combos. But it really depends on your weapons so you might want to state your complete loadout here.
Sneak up on gun puppies, attack only one target when with silkwings, circle lumbers and shield cancel after attacking, shield bump jellies and attack after they finish. The lichen colonies are basically defeatable by spam charge attack.
I just want to comment on the gear, and emphasise how much better dusker is than brute jelly. You'll never notice the extra defence of brute jelly, but you'll definitely notice the missing sword damage. Don't do it!
You need to get used to jellies' attack patterns: body smash and spikes.
When in party, ask others to allow you chance to train. Find a location without a group button (e.g. after the first group button in first level of Jelly Palace), kill everything except one pink jelly. Others leave the room to continue the level, while you train:
- Don't attack the pink jelly. The purpose of this training is to get familiar with the jelly's attacks with your latency.
- Instead of attacking, just move around it in varying distances, baiting it to attack you, and dodge it.
You'll find jellies attack rather frequently (compared to most non-puppy Mecha), but the attack starts only after a relatively large delay after the telegraph mark appear.
You'll also find out how jellies AI work - at what range they would use spikes, at what range they'd body smash, and at what range they'd try to move closer to you.
Get those patterns burned in your memory, and you will rarely get hit by jellies.
But the problem is when I get to the red carpet and when your trying to get the keys, the area is too small. For that part, should I get a better gun.
On small areas a sword is better than a gun.
hit-shield-hit-shield It usually damages enemies and quickly push them away. DONT do that to a lumber tho.
You're in full Dusker. Use a Nightblade and do what Juances says.
Red Carpet...
Top right:
- It is the hardest one among the four. There's not much space around the group button.
- At that close range, jellies like to body smash, and the danger lies in getting bumped onto spike traps.
- If someone have a freeze bomb, use it. Others charge up attacks. Use the charged attacks to make room for everyone, send jellies away from the center.
- For the four corner sections, if you are using heavy sword, DO NOT break open the blocks. Having the blocks intact keep the jellies clustered together, so you can hit them all with your swing and pin them all down, doing one combo after another.
Lower right:
- Easiest way would be to run on the spike traps, stay away from the puppies (so they don't start firing), and shoot - not at the enemies mind you, but at the explosive blocks.
- i.e. Skip the leftmost vertical row of spikes - start from the 2nd one at the top horizontal line, follow the spikes down to lower right, and restart at the same spot.
Top left:
- It's a room made for Polaris line. Spreading the three shots in a cone, you can keep all the enemies trapped. A bomber with Nitro can do the same while party members shoot.
- If not using knock back tactics, first break the blocks so you can easily sneak in and out. Then charge your sword, and move inside to where a puppy will appear. Release your charge, and dart back out. If you have two people doing it with Brandish line swords, you can have the puppies die right away and the remaining enemies half-dead.
Lower left:
- You should gain HP doing this room. If not, re-study jelly attack patterns!
^^ I think you mixed up the positions of top right and bottom right
Lol you're right! I've been doing nothing but KoA these days...
What is your shield? You should be relying on your shield more than your armor - if you're consistently getting hit without shielding then you're already doing something wrong.
Personally, I use a Boosted Plate Shield for all-around effectiveness in tier 2, since everything has a normal component, and stun is both common and annoying (for example, lumbers). It's especially effective against the Jelly King since he does pure normal damage - in fact I've actually soloed Jelly King while using that 3-star shield.
But if Gun Puppy bullet spam is giving you trouble, you could also try a Horned Owlite Shield. If it's the Jellies other than the King, a Twisted Targe could work, plus you'd have some more damage on top of everything.
For the crowded rooms...
Specifically the top left room, RUN once the blocks disappear, otherwise you will get cornered and killed. Once the mobs are in a big clump, either run and let a teammate kill them, or charge as you run and retaliate. Rinse and repeat.
Nope. Its about playing better, not using better gear. Learn to dodge, shield, and shield cancel.
