Dream Theater fits very nice with some levels. In The Presence of Enemies Pt. II fits veeeeeeeery well with Vanaduke.

Fastfall

I really like having the Dustforce soundtrack playing in the background.

It's comparable to the normal in-game music (bits of chiptune backing up other instruments), but its tone is a bit more chill overall. Pretty nice for those good ol' mind-numbing clockwork level runs where you seem to spend more time running around than fighting.

I mainly use random stuff

from my music folder. But here's the highlights I tend to add to every playlist, even though I rarely use playlists now:

Miku Hatsune - S-word(Yes, the name is a swear word. I titled it that way because I wanna keep bad language to a minimum.)
Zsolt Marx - Fill Your Pages (This one's highly recognizable to anyone who played Trackmania Sunrise. I sure did play it, but not as often, which is a shame; that game was one of the best for it's time.)

Nowadays, I listen to Haven Winter(So much nostlagia :3) or Dead or Alive's "You Spin me right round(like a record)" '96 remix.

Nobody said ANYTHING about any Dark Ritual.

Try listening to the game itself btw. I know this is no L4D2, but I hate when people have music blasting over their mics or are ignoring obvious audio cues.

My god all of these music suggestions are all OSTs. How about some music with actual vocals (besides from Rick Astley -_-).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5A-2E8JNtpY <---- Such as this <.< or >.> that --------> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ6zr6kCPj8

Now I know you guys have all sorts of tastes in music. Here some of mine. If you think my taste in music is horrible, I apologize.

This is what I listen to.

Any of the 'Etrian Odyssey' games OST.

They have some amazing music, no lyrics, so if you want lyrics /laugh, no. Either way, I still really love the music in those games ^^
Oh and I'll just link to my favourite song out of all of them (There are hundreds xD).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UqMuc6huik - 'Initial Strike' - Composer: Yuzo Koshiro.

In my opinion this is the best battle theme ever ^^ again, in my opinion.
Oh and the guy has plenty more on his channel, from other games, not just the EO ones :)

~The Mighty WeeGee

Note: This is mainly towards the guy who posted before me.
I don't know about other people but music with vocals distracts me, I don't know why but I either start drifting off thinking about what the lyrics mean, which ends in my death, or I start singing too, which again ends in my death, plus there ain't nothing wrong with OST's we are all gamer's after all, we've listened to alot of good music without vocals, naturally we would recommend those to other people.
Although I'm sure you didn't mean it in a seerus way :)

music

I actually make (almost) complete replacement soundtracks and switch them out every couple of weeks or so. That way I can have level-fitting music all the time and don't have to browse through thousands of songs to find something when levels start.

For example I'll use Metal Gear for Boss music. Or Contra: Battle Train as the Shock level music. Or something from disgaea 2 for graveyards and such.
